Hi
i have two batteries, one in the phone and one i keep on the charger. Before i pulled out the battery without turning the phone off to replace it. now the phone wont go pass the samsung boot screen. phone was working perfectly before. currently running sotmax v10. tried reflashing the rom but still nothing.
is there anything i can do?
Try some other ROM... still if it doesn't work, try flashing official firmware with ODIN... hope it works.

Full wipe and re-install from recovery?
Does it boot into Download Mode? If yes, try to Odin back to stock ROM?

Hello.
I have "little" problem on my sgs2.
I bought it used and it had vibration broken (flexcable broken).
I fix it with new part and used it one day for testing it.
It was working flawless.
Yesterday i flashed it on stock 2.3.5 Nee and rooted it with speedmod.
It was working ok and no glitches or anything unusual behavior.
I installed about 50 programs in a row for market and put the settings and launchers in working.
it took about 1,5 hours and it was pretty warm but not burning hot.
Then i went to sleep and put it on charger.
On this morning i woke to my backup alarm and noticed that the phone had died on night.
I beginning to believe it´s maybe dead completely, maybe hardware failure.
I have tried everything else, but not jig (haven´t got it yet).
It doesn´t go to cwm or download mod, no lights, nothing just black screen.
It doesn´t charge or even get warm when trying to charge.
I have tried it on two different battery (other battery is brand new genuine).
Doesn´t look or smell burned (motherboard).
Any suggestions?
doesnt sound like its bricked.
try these steps:
1) open ODIN
2) reflash speedmod kernel using the ODIN's .tar file
3) go into CWM recovery
4) wipe data / cache / davlik
5) flash a new ROM or official Firmware
6) flash a new modem file
7) reboot the phone
8) start restoring all your apps and settings etc
here are some links to get u started (the setup i use)

ahh ok
well if ur 100% sure u cant get into download mode, your kinda screwed. thats the last line of defense against bricking. if thats gone, you might as well throw it or maybe see if a dev can salvage it - but i doubt it

Try charging it via USB or with a different charger and cable. Other than this and using another battery, I think its f**ked if unable to boot into DL mode without jig.

You said you haven't got a jig yet. I'd suggest you get a jig. I got one for a couple bucks on eBay. Worth it to see if it will trigger download mode.

Jig is coming sometime in next week.
I doubt it´l help because it went black on charging.
Memory shouldn´t corrupt just like that.
I also read couple post on overheated sgs2.
Anyway the jig is worth of try.
Does someone know is it possible to buy just a motherboard and what does those cost?
Maybe i have to sell it on parts.
If it does not even turn on. Then it's a hardware failure. No jig is going to fix that.
Hello all! I have the i777 SGS2 and my phone was rooted with and ran UnNamed 2.2.1 ROM. On the way home the phone shut down by itself and after trying to turn it on, it gets to the Samsung logo and keeps going off and coming back on to that logo. I have restored it to stock via ODin and used a jig to reset the counter. Should I take it by AT&T for a replacement or is there something I can do? The root and ROM did not cause this, so this must be a phone problem.
Thx
Sounds like you already answered your item question.
You hit every step that would be recommended to do. Sounds like hardware went bad at some point.
Anything leading up to this? Something (games, charging, anything causing high cpu use) causing excessively high temperatures? Dropped? Water damaged? Cheap off-brand chargers?

After restoring from stock using Odin, did you try to wipe data/factory reset from stock recovery?

Similar thing happened to me. When you restored to stock with stock recovery, did it go? Or did you get some weird message and then back to bootloop? And btw was the phone connected to a car charger?

So I flashed to DrakyRom, everything was going great then I flashed SiyahKernel S3-v1.8.6, everything was good too, after trying to install and download an application from Google Play, i had a message "Package file is invalid". I decided to reboot the device, it got stuck on the booting screen, I did a battery pull. NOW MY PHONE WON'T TURN AT ALL! I plugged the charger, connected it to pc, tried to go into Recovery/download mode, nothing is responsive at all. What went wrong? :crying:
i hope i mentioned all the details you guys need.
DarkyRom I flashed:

The device is not able to connect with the PC. Not even the sound of plugging in a device goes on when I plug it.
try a different battery first

I tried, no luck. The phone is getting jtaged at a store. Is there anyway i can avoid bricking my phone again? what is weird is is the fact that more than 30 users did exactly what i did, flashed the rom, then flashed the kernal, but no one reported any issue!
you probably don't have an i9300
Hi. My phone is behaving kinda weird since yesterday. Suddenly it turned off, and when I was trying to power it on it was turning off after Samsung Galaxy S2 boot logo, or after carrier splash (I was running full stock without any root or modifications).
When I plugged in the charger it was randomly showing 2 battery status (sometimes empty, sometimes correct one). Stock recovery mode and download was working fine, it could run on it forever, without reseting.
I decided to install custom recoveries. First time I tried with Philz's one. Same results, battery indicator shows correct value. CWM - working fine. TWRP - working fine, but battery status sometimes points 1% (but it won't turn off), sometimes correct one.
I've also tried flashing new brand ROM through Odin 1.85 and Philz recovery (here I used SlimKat). In both cases the booting errors was the same.
Does anybody have any solution how I can fix it?

Edit: Sorry, gave a wrong answer
Now you have a custom recovery, you might want to try wiping dalvik, cache and data....then try to boot as normal......
If that doesn't work, then you might want to try formatting the memory partitions under "mounts and storage", re flashing the ROM and then try to boot normally.......
This might be my S2 or it might be my W, but it's definitely CM...
I think its battery problem..if some one has same battery put it in your mobile and then try...if it works fine then buy a new battery..

Yes, I checked it 2 days ago. It was battery fault (phone was overheating because of games, and somehow it has an impact on battery).
hi guys
so my galaxy s3 has had a faulty conector since ive had it. but yesterday when i went to flash stock rom as i wanted to clean the device etc it stopped half way through odin process and now it doesnt boot obvieously. the thing is now the phone conector seems to be completely broken as it wont connect for more than maybe 10 seconds at the start but now nothing at all but it does still charge. ive bought an original samsung cable brand new and still same result.
any ideas of a way to get my phone working again? it seems odin wiped my recovery in 10 seconds which sucks....
anything anyone can recommend i try?

Can you still get into download mode and does odin recognize it?
If not you will very likely need a jtag or take it into a service center.
Try replacing the usb port first, flashing anything on a phone with a broken port can corrupt the partition -which is what happened to you.

If the phone boots you could use mobile Odin but in your case, repairing the connector is the right way.
