Hi,
In messages app the date is correct, but the day is wrong. Any one else with this problem? I have the correct day on the lock screen and everywhere else, but not in the messages app.
Rooted i9305 Pandoriam 4.5 Perseus kernel
me too
I think it's dependant on your phone company, I don't think there is a lot you can do to fix it...
Phone company? I haven't had any issues with this on any other phone.
P.S I think I've posted in the wrong forum. Can someone move this thread to the Q&A for I9305 D.S

Sorry, that didn't fix the problem for me. Still correct date, but wrong day...

Still got the problem with the stock Messages app, but installed Handscent SMS to "solve" the problem...

I am rooted running Celeb 3.0 and was wondering if I am using Handcent for all messages what would happen if the stock Messages app was removed? Will I still be able to send/receive messages?
Sorry if this doesn't belong in this forum.

To my knowledge you cannot remove the stock messaging app as handcent and all others ride off that. To answer the other part, yes this should have been asked in the Celb thread instead of starting its own thread. Im sure Conap or one of the others would have answered it for you.
you'll generally want to ask ROM specific questions in the ROMs thread
------------------------------------------------------------------------
i had thought that you could remove the stock messaging app... but i could be wrong (pretty sure you could do this on 2.1 ROMs... not sure on 2.2 i guess)
Thanks for letting me know....still getting the hang of the rules.

If you think about it this really isn't a rom specific question, Its just a question about android. Just because the OP added a note that they were running celb3.0 dosen't make it a question about the rom.

Yes I agree that this could be a general android ? but then it should be in the general ?s section still. Main thing I was saying is that in dealing with conap before he is totally open to ?s like this and would also know better.
Make a nandroid backup. Delete the stock mms. See if handcent still works. If not restore your backup. I've had people tell me it doesn't work and some people tell me they have had no problems when removing it. I don't use handcent or sms/mms at all for that matter so I haven't tried it myself. And as others have said feel free to ask this type of stuff in my thread...
A) It belongs in Q&A... duh.
Anyway, handcent will still work but your notifications for it won't. I've tried "freezing" the app with titanium and I get the same issues.

Hungry Man to the rescue....Yeah!! Knew someone could hook ya up. BTW glad it got answered and not trying to be a thread nazi, just trying to cut down on congestion (as I contribute to it by responding..sigh).
No problem. I really appreciate all the responses.
Yeah, you'll still get SMS but not MMS. You'll also encounter several issues. I've tried it already.
Hi. I recently deblurred my phone using Lokifish's deblur script. It worked great and I'm loving it. Only one problem. After an hour or two of use, I notice that the icon for the ringer toggle disappears (only the on icon, the silent icon remains). The toggle works fine, but I'd like to not have a missing icon.
The first time this happened I thought it was my fault, because I removed all the icon png files that were showing up in my library. However, after restoring a nandroid backup, the icon disappeared again over time. I even tried restoring a stock backup (nandroid backup of stock photon after 2.3.5 OTA update) and going through the whole process of running the script again. Same result.
During the first hour or two of use after deblur, I'm generally going back and installing all my apps again, adding widgets, getting settings back the way I like them, and so fourth. So, I think it has something to do with one or more of these tasks.
I'm just wondering if Lokifish can help me in getting the icon back. I'm posting here, because I'm too new to post a reply in the deblur thread since it's in the developer forum. Please let me know. Thanks.
You are never too new to reply or ask on the thread of the developed thing you have problem with. You should only avoid posting new threads on the developer section, unless you developed or found something and want to share it.
About your problem: Sorry, I'm not an expert yet, and I have no idea.

Thanks, I appreciate your reply. Unfortunately, when I try to post a reply to a thread in the developer forum, I get the following error:
p0wder2, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
The reason below that line that I think most applies to myself is the following:
New members (those with fewer than 10 posts) are not permitted to post to development-related forums.
This is why I have made the determination that I am "too new" to post. If this is inaccurate, please let me know, as I would love to be able to post a reply in the Deblur thread regarding the issue I experienced.
Thanks again.
I'm facing the same issue related to toggle icon. Finally I've to factory reset twice to get my icon back... lol

Sorry, my mistake. It's normal that you're unable to reply on the developer forus, just as you said. You can try to do what matrix says, factory reset twice. Then try to restore data using advanced restore within recovery mode.

Thanks, but I actually have a nandroid backup of the "deblurred" stock ROM. When restoring from that backup, the icon is there for a while and then it isn't. I also reverted to the stock 2.3.5 ROM, without the deblur, and when I went through the whole process again, the same thing happened. Icon is there for a while, then it isn't. I need a way of getting it back without any resets or restoring from backups. If not, I can live without it
Thanks again though. I appreciate the suggestions, they are just ones I've already tried.
I'm able to reply on the script's thread, so I posted for you.
It's right here
I'm sorry for writing "he or she", I just don't know you.
Anyway, I am a male.
Good day!
Cool!

Awesome, thank you so much!
You're most welcome!
Even if you reinstall it, you won't get your icon back... this is something related to application and memory problem... when I restored my backup, same issue again... didn't find any solution except installing lesser apps...
In my case some go application is causing a problem...

Interesting. Well, I figured it had to do with adding apps since that's the first thing I do after the deblur process is completed. However, I'm thinking there may be a way of forcing ADW to reload it, but I'm not nearly familiar enough with linux (or the ADW launcher for that matter) to figure that out on my own.
Oh well, as I said before, I can live without it if needs be. I'd rather have all the apps that are currently installed than the ringer icon. Thanks for confirming my suspicions, though.
So I newly bought my new S3 last week. These past few days I can accept call but now I can't seem to answer it, my won't respond then a pop up message always shows that "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped" please help.

Ask a mod to move your question to the correct section. Also, have a quick read of forum rules.... this is one of the friendlier mis-post comments you'll find

I'll keep it down a bit...
How is this development-related? Let alone original development...

Guys just help the mods and report immediately via the report tab .
That way they can take quick action .

Everyone find the time to play MOD but not to help. Amazing, but they are right. Theres not much you can do but to reset your device or flash it with a newer firmware. Go to recovery and factory reset your device. If your not rooted and are on stock recovery this will wipe your device clean.
Good luck and be carefull with where you post, people here will bite your head off for less.

Had this problem too and couldn't solve it except by resetting.
I did however read someone having the same issue found Handcent SMS to be the culprit in his case.
Try removing application by application that you've downloaded, you might get surprised.

Moved to the Q/A section, make sure you post questions in the right section in the future.
Dude got the same problem. Try out the new nighlty build of cm9. Fixed my problem with calls!
I had this problem shortly after I installed CallRecorder and fiddled with the settings. Luckily had a nandroid backup and the restore fixed her right up. Not saying it was CallRecorder though. Probably me fiddling too much.

What if factory reset didn't help?
So for a while getting notifications for spam. I almost went crazy trying to figure out how to disable them but I finally managed to. I can't, for the life of me, figure out what I did but it worked.
Just the other day a confirmation email was accidentally sent to that folder. I had to go there to retrieve it but after I did I now get notifications once again. I'm not getting spam in my inbox, it's going to the right place I just don't want to know about it. I went to sync settings for that folder but there is no option to turn sync off or, at the very least, to turn notifications off. I can post screenshots to clarify

perhaps no one has the same issue? perhaps you need to post more specific info? like what build base, what rom, what email client
stuff like that helps with getting answers
just saying
