Try "missed it"
You can put any application notifications on the lockscreen using this as long as its notifications appear in the notification bar.
P.S: Wrong section. Should be in Q&A.

Use missed it. You can configure notifications from any apps to appear in the lockscreen. It will tell you how many facebook instant messages you have, gmail messages, emails, etc. You can configure the way it looks too.
Missed It on google play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.igecelabs.android.MissedIt&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDMsIm5ldC5pZ2VjZWxhYnMuYW5kcm9pZC5NaXNzZWRJdCJd
Does Missed It really work for the stock Sony lockscreen?
If it does that would be awesome!

No it doesn't. You must use Widgetlocker or similar.
I think none of the answerers noticed that our asker here meant stock lockscreen.
The stock lockscreen does really lack some functionality...
Also, for me the upcoming calendar event doesn't work at all, annoying since this would be very important for me.
But until there's the stock theme for another launcher I'm not gonna change.
I too, face the same problem. Whatsapp on xperia s also doesnt have badges, unlike their messaging app. Is there a work-around for this? For stock xperia s?

Which rom??? (There are loads based on the leaked rom).
Have you searched roms thread??
In future do not create help topics unless you are prepared to give the most basic/relevant info like which rom your actually using.
Also, do you need this notification? Just go into your settings and set keyboard there.

Lashing out won't really help you in these forums, most people aren't very forgiving and for the most part, most things can be found through a search.
I know for ICS there has always been the option to choose whether or not to show the Keyboard switching icon in the status bar. Its in the settings of the Keyboard and language input.
I'm on Biftor's JB right now and I have the icon in my status bar, but I don't have the option to choose the keyboard notification in my settings though so I can't really point you in the right direction. But with the keyboard in that rom, it allows you to swipe the spacebar to switch languages so the notification isn't necessary either. Maybe you could try installing a separate JB keyboard or the 4.2 Keyboards which are floating around in the S2 Themes and Apps forum. I've installed them before and remembering that they should have the option in the settings

By the way...
I did a search for keyboard in Omega's rom thread and this came up in the release notes...you might want to consider changing roms.

Hi,
In ICS I'm crazy about the messanging shortcuts in lockscreen thanks to Aeon XS moded lockscreen.
Have you any idea about how have sms on lockscreen for CM10(not 10.1 or 10.2) ?
I know we can create shortcut to the sms/mms application but I would like the new sms appear in lockscreen, if it's possible...
Thanks in advance
Go to Settings > Lock Screen > Slider Shortcuts > Set The Shortcuts!!
You're done!!
Cheers!

Oh... As far as I know, it is not possible to get the same lock screen on CM10. Though there is Xperia Z JB lock screen port. But sadly it doesn't feature the same function that you want.
There is one way to do this. You maybe knowing it already... (But you can't put security lock to make it work)
Just swipe down the notification bar. If you have message & tap reply. You'll go straight into the message app & then just reply the message.

Hi there,
Do you guys know of any (notification) toggle to quickly disable/enable lockscreen? In the notification panel Android unfortunately doesn't seem to have such a toggle build in. With the previous build, Jelly Bean, some widgets from the Play Store seemed to work, but not anymore with Android 4.4.2.
Thanks in advance for your help!

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.painless.pc works fine in Kitkat and one of it's many toggles disables the lockscreen.

Thanks for your reply! In the description on Play Store, it says that for the lockscreen toggle to work, it requires a separate (pay) app. Does this seem to be the case?
Do you/does someone know any other alternatives?

Unfortunately the app you are suggesting, does not work on my phone. A message in the notification bar says the lockscreen is disabled, but it's not.
Anybody else know of any solution? I can't believe there is no one else in need for a lockscreen toggle that works with KitKat.
