Hey all, I am still pretty new to my p5113 10.1 GT2 and wondering if there are any good game controllers for the tab... or if I got a adapter cable could I hook up like an Xbox 360 controller like the Galaxy S3 phone... any help is appreciated.

No we cannot...
No u can't use ur tab as a game controller of xbox... but u can connect pen drive or mouse or keyboard into ur tab using d cable...
There was an app that worked with my Droid x to connect a Wii remote, I wonder if it works with the Tab...
I use my PS3 controller on my tablet.

I use a Logitech F710 with a short OTG cable, works great, there's a switch on the front of it, must be set to "D" to work properly. Using it for GTA3 and Asphalt 7.
PS3 controller via bluetooth here as well
Just like my Galaxy S2 it looks like Samsung is STILL using their proprietary bluetooth stack because my Wiimotes dont work with my Tab 2. Wiimote Connect always asks me for a PIN. Might have to give in and just get a PS3 controller.

Hello
I have a problem, when i plug in to my Tab 2 a gamepad i see " connected USB device with high performance" and bottom "can not get access to the device" (message translated from Polish), and USB/BT Joystick Center test app dont see a usb gamepad. I dont know what i to do. I dont want root my tablet but i want play with controler. Please help and sorry for my poor english
I forgot i use USB OTG adapter.
I see that no one knows the answer to my question. So let us differently. Message about high power, tell i think says that game pad take to much elctric power, so i have another question if i connect bluetooth gamepad with USB dongle then will take less power? And if so, that my tablet and USB / BT Joystick Center app willbe work with this set? Maybe someone tried?
Im talking about normal bluetooth PC gamepad.

Here's a fun fact. I was playing shadowgun deadzone for a few hours on my galaxy tab 2 10.1 WiFi only non root FULLY CHARGED .
Now I stopped playing
BATTERY IS AT 40% or so, unplugged the ps3 controller , did bit of web browsing for bout 20 mins
Then left my tab.
Came back battery is at 38% NOW.
So plugged in the ps3 controller to play shadowgun deadzone again
AND now it's saying 'connected device is too high power consumption!'
Go figure...
So charged it to full.
Plugged ps3 again now Works.
So looks like at a certain % it didn't accept ' high powered devices' like the ps3 controller.
I don't know what the % limit is until it says ' high powered device Bla Bla'
But I'd think it's around 50-40%
Thought I'd let people know

Want to add to save others time and trouble. You can use a ps3 controller. But it HAS to be a genuine Sony controller. If you dont have one, they are expensive. Use the app sixaxis compatibility and its sister app, sixaxis controller, to make it work.
If you dont have a ps3 controller, the gamestop controller that acam mentioned above is supposed to be really good. My local Gamestop wanted $30. Since i'm cheap, i bought the Red Samurai V2 controller from gamestop ($25). I love it! It looks great, works great and feels great in the hands. Played Shadowgun Deadzone no problem with it. I'm going to try and pair it with my desktop pc and see how it works.

I'm wondering the same about ps2 controllers
The dongles (?) I've seen suggest that they enable you to plug your ps2 controller into a ps3... so, that sounds like it 'becomes' a ps3 controller...
I am considering getting a '2 port' version of the dongle (ebay title: 2 PORT PS2 TO PS3 USB GAME CONTROLLER CONVERTER ADAPTER - Item: 270840161917)
They describe it as such:
Just plug in the USB connection into your Playstation 3 system and you can plug in 2 playstation 2 controllers into the adapter and use them as player 1 and player 2 .
Please note this converter will work with most playstation 2 controllers made but may not work for some types of controllers

That sounds like you might be able to plug two PS2 controllers at once. You would also need something to convert from regular size USB to mini USB.
I haven't done any of this... still mulling it over and trying to find out if others have. (but it isn't really a great investment - maybe < 30$ for 2 controllers and all the parts).
Does an actual WIRED xbox 360 controller work with the prime right when you plug it in. I've seen some say it will some say it won't.
Yes it works 100%. With Games and Navigating the menu.
My name is Optimus Prime and I send this message..

I'm not sure if that's true. I've plugged in a wireless xbox controller into a console without a battery pack and without being synced to that console, and it's worked. I've always assumed its through a wired connection.

Nope, just power. It's missing the pins and wiring on the inside to relay controls.

He's right. I tried plugging in my charge and play controller and all it did was charge the controller. I wish I didn't sell my wired controller
I just picked up the Prime myself, and went out and grabbed a wired xbox 360 controller. The controller works great to navigate the prime, as well as Riptide, however when I read in the Tegra zone, it mentions pressing the guide button, until the light is solid on. My light is aways blinking, kind of annoying, is this normal?

It's normal.. and it will work anyway.
It even works with the wireless 360 receiver.. so you can use a 360 controller wirelessly if you have one of those..
ohwow the wireless work? The Tegra page said they didn't, wonder if the new firmware fixed that? I have one of the receivers but didn't even try it. Already bought the wired controller, but I did get it on sale for 27 bucks, think I'll keep it, thinking as far as portability goes, carrying around just a controller rather than reciver + controller sounds easier. And you really dont need to be far from the tablet.
r u guys sure because i swore a long time ago i used the charge cord to plug one into my computer to use as a gamepad. could be wrong just know i used to have a controller for my computer and i don't remember having a wired one
I personally couldnt get any of them to work. However i am rooted and my ps3 controller works. So ive been using that. Didnt really keep trying with the 360 controller. Which to be fair is far more comfortable than the ps3 one.
Might try again.
Has anyone tried using one of these in splashtop HD?
Just interested to see if it actually relays back the controls to the PC like it is actually connected. if so then i will be very happy!
Also what about onlive, Anyone got around to testing the controller on that?

I've been trying to figure this out for a few days now and everyone who has paired is either rooted or has a dock/USB dongle. I know it's possible to use the controller without having root and apparently it's possible to pair it without using USB but I can't get it to work at all.
I used the Sixaxis Pair Tool on my PC to set the address to my Prime. According to the instructions, as soon as you unplug and hit the PS button, it should be paired...but it didn't. The Prime picked up the controller in the Bluetooth menu but when I tapped it to pair, it asked for a PIN. I tried 0000 and 1234 which both didn't work and can't find any info on how to find the PIN. I also found someone that just said to keep cancelling when it asks and it eventually pairs for some reason but that didn't work either.
I tried pairing the controller to my phone but it doesn't even detect it (I entered the BT address) and the sixaxis app says the phone is not supported. So I put it back to my Prime's BT address and now my Prime won't even detect the controller at all like it was before. I was able to pair my phone and Prime together with no issues and the controller (original Sony brand btw) works fine on the PS3.
So has anyone here gotten a controller to work in this situation? Or do I have to use this as an excuse to buy the dock now?

I'm not sure. I have the dock and my PS3 Controller only appeared in the BT devices section after I Plugged it in to the dock.
However.... I was thinking... the Proprietary charging connector goes to a USB plug. Could you use a female USB adaptor to connect your PS3 controller to to the tablet (without the dock)? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Female-USB-...XX2Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1330594457&sr=8-1
Can anyone answer this?

I just got my prime yesterday, and I got my ps3 control work by just plugging it into the usb, pushing the centre button, then in bluetooth settings on the prime, I switched it on, scanned for devices and my ps3 control appeared so I selected it and it said connected. Then I just unplugged the usb and it worked.
I played sonic episode 1 and shadowgun with my ps3 control wirelessly. No root, no extra app downloaded. I'm going to try some more games today just to be sure.

I can tell you that it will not work. The prime has no USB host controller in order to connect peripherals for communication. It only can use the built in port to communicate with other devices that do have a controller. To get a USB host controller you have to use the dock or the adapter.

I'd love a bluetooth one.
Well through searching I was able to get my wireless PS3 controller working. It'll do. Would like a smaller attachment one, but it does the trick. Here's how if anyone is interested...

In fact, PS3 WII and XBOX 360(guides to how are on the bottom) controllers all work on the android, as do most USB controllers that you use with the PC.
I have the international s3 and running Omega ROM. I would like to play games with a controller and read that a OTG cable will be needed which I can try to find and buy but my question is, will it work with a ps2 controller since I have so many of those laying around? Or will it only work with Ps3 and Xbox360 controllers?
You can get an adapter for about $4 to use Ps2 controller on Ps3 and if you plug it into OTG it will recognise a Ps2 controller as if it was a Ps3.

PS2 controllers have a very large custom plug which does not even look anything like a USB plug.
PS3 controllers have a normal USB-plug, hence Michael_P's recommendation of getting a PS2->PS3 controller adapter and then plug that adapter into the USB-OTG.

Thanks, I forgot this important detail. But I have an old PC controller (Logitech), so I bought the USB-OTG adapter and I will try with it.
Every controller has it's own layout, so it might not work at all or only through (commercial) Support apps like Joystick Center
(Remember that you cannot install your old driver on the phone)
I have already the OTG-USB and it works perfectly with my Logitech RumblePad 2 (I had to search it in my storage room).
It moves thought the desktop and I can push the icons. But I tried two games:
- In Virtua tennis doesn't work the buttons
- In Asphalt 7 doesn't work the joysticks
Do you known if could I use an app as this one (it is of paid and I would like to be sure):
