Stable yes, but smoothness, I don't think so. Anyway I am switching between ultimate HD and xperia t rom.
Psst...(Best rom for speed and stability is gingerbread)

I vote Jelly Sandwich 7.4. The 8.X version removed the stock Home, wich i dislike, but the 9.0 version was supposed to let ou change the home you want,

STOCK 2.3.4 + NIGHTELF KERNEL v10.1 IS STILL THE BEST IMO! Everything works, very fast, very stable, very smooth, best for games/web browsering. Theres no problems with free ram etc. Also CM7 is very good.
All ICS-based roms like ultimate HD, Jelly Sandwich etc IS ONE BIG CRAP!

I'm using Ultimate HD for almost one mounth and i can say it is the best for me.

for me
Jelly Sandwhich 9.0 with alliance kernel or Sauve Kernel gives u overclocking & "battery saver(sauve kernel)" + smootheness + performance (Dark Knight , temple runs very smooth)

Ultimate HD is simply great!

1º-I think HD Ultimate is better than Jelly Sandwich in Battery but Jelly Sandwich is more beautiful that HD.
But the problem is that the speaker dosen't sound high in HD rom (in GB or ICS stock rom its sound is ok).
2- So, Anyone knows how can we solve this problem?
Thanks and sorry for my english.

Why?
It's stock rom, working fine on stock 4.0.3 kernel. Everyone who have CWM(which can be installed with stock kernel) can flash this zip, right?
And in case someone is wondering, Arc ROM thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1655067

CM9 is not a fully functional rom. Its 100% functional.
Battery life is far better. Home screen is not too lagy to wait, just a little jerk.
It can be super fast and smooth if some of our great developers add some tweaks.
Hope sony is approaching up to mark (but oviously slowly). Just have patience.

Tried that combination, and yes is nice.
But Sony doesnt have reason to give us maximum in midrange phones (in their firmwares).
Developers have reasons to do that.
Thats why we have plenty of roms better than stock.

yep. that's exactly what i mean, if a normal rom is great, what if it is a 'super' rom?

The latest stock build has been heavily optimised - the difference between it and custom roms in terms of performance is pretty minimal.
However, in terms of native customisation not so much and I don't really like the Sony UI.
Put Apex or Nova launcher on it instead and you have a different beast though.
Stock build, custom kernal, a few mods and Nova launcher = very slick phone.
Not sure if you have a pre-rooted stock .587, but if not:
Download a copy of the stock from boyracers list http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1627627 (i usually pick generic nordic).
Then follow Knight's insturctions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849802 to root it youself. It's pretty simple and nice to have hold of if you have problems with other roms.
Pair it with something like sirkays ics kernel or the new flykernel and your laughing... Apex launcher gets a +1 from me too

[Q] Best ICS ROM for Xperia U

Can someone please suggest me the best available ROM for Xperia U.
Currently am at stock 3.7 Gingerbread.. and its quite slow... my contact book open in abt 40 sec sometimes even more...
Please suggest how to make it better and faster....
Im using TheBrainsRom, it's just a sony based rom with some tweaks for performance and battery life, and has a much smoother scrolling.
I was waiting for a good Miui Xperia U rom, but i'm quite satisfied with TheBrainsRom for now.

Which ROM do you prefer for your Neo V?

I'm currently using Xperia Ultimate HD ROM which is an ICS based. I'm thinking of unlocking my bootloader and install a JB based ROM.
I would like to know which ROM you guys are using? GB, ICS or JB based?
Dude...there are many many threads similar to this one...please search...
Gaming and performance wise...
GB>JB>ICS...
Please report the thread yourself and have it closed. :good:
Hi dude. It's you who started me on this line by your awesome guide to rooting. I have rooted my phone using your guide. Now reading your guide to flashing a custom kernel. I want to try out a JB based ROM, hence posted the thread. I have searched and couldn't find any comparisons for GB, ICS, JB based ROMs. Will close by EOD
Waiting for any suggestions on JB Rom, which does not have Signal loss.
Im facing the signal loss prob.. on moAOKP with Fusion 5.1. Any others facing the same?

No one can recommend roms... Everyone has their own taste and different needs... It's good you tried a lot of roms but in the end its what you feel about the Rom that matters not others recommendations...
Sent from my Xperia Neo V using xda app-developers app
I've tried many ICS based JB roms and let me say that since Super JellyBean 5.5 was released it is by far the smoothest and the fastest. I also tried Legacy Xperia CM recently and it seemed quite fast and smooth but I couldn't get the Wifi working. Maybe you'll have a better luck.
For some reason I am only limited to non-AROMA based roms (All of them eventually bootloop on my phone)
And let me pay my respects to the Developer of Super JB. Be very careful with improving it.
Sent from my Xperia Neo using xda app-developers app
since you try a lot rom already you probably know which rom suited your need
all roms are great and they have their ups and downs
CM7.2, X-GAMER and Codename are great GB rom
CM9, Ultimate HD, and Ice Cream Pureness are great ICS rom
CM10, Super Jelly Bean and Racing Bean are great JB rom
other roms are great too. i only listed the ones i have tried.
there are a lot more great roms out there left for you to discover.
I would also recommend CM10.1 from LegacyXperia project. Latest builds are very stable and brings you JB 4.2.2 with 3.4 kernel.
Try to use zelly cream by gagan HD stable and option of gaming and battery life both

I think the best ROMs are GB and ICS.
I'm not talking about CyanogenMod or any based on this...
GB & ICS got well working camera.
I like JB, but SONY won't release source of libraries, so you are able to use only 480p. :<
I'm Using Legacy Xperia is super stable, one reboot in two weeks if you use the app Greenify becomes perfect.

I've tried with a LOT of Roms and I Stay in CM10 Based, CM10.1 and CM10.2 dont have a good battery life and I wait for 1st Build of CM11 to test!
listen up. i use Gin2jellybean for more that 3 months. i stable and very light. only 100-110 mb ram is used and you have alot of free. i reccomend you to flash 2.5.2 version. first install 2.4.0 and patch with 2.5.2. use stock kernels if you wand best battery. if u need gaming perfomance use night elef 10.1 LITE. in my opinion is better for all other versions. You will not regert for this roms
i only recommend kitkat maybe it is in alpha stage ... I'm stunned by seeing the performance of kitkat, seeing the same performance as gingerbread with all brand new features .. long live xperia 2011
in GB you can use...anything
and in JB 4.1.2 & 4.2.x you can use PAC-man the famous AIO rom.....
you will be amazed...
In my opinion, the best ROM is GB, it is the best for gaming, battery life and stability.
ICS is the worst ROM ever.
JB Rom is very good but unfortunately not stable yet.
The Developers now are working on KitKat 4.4.1 which is in the Alpha 2 phase but I expect It is going to be the best when they reach the stable version.
For nice rom and for 100% stable running get GB rom, try Gin2JellyBean, the new version is 3.0.0 witch is Gin2KitKat. its GB rom themed as kitkat.
if you want latest kitkat alpha build 2, get if from my signature.
its alpha, so expect bug here and there. no fm radio, no hd videos recording, no hdmi, camera pictures are worse than any stock rom.
but then, its kitkat 4.4.1 soom in few days there will be 4.4.2 also.
jb
jellybean cm10 works fine
