Hi everyone, sorry for the funny name of the thread. I didnt know how else to put it
The touch input of my XMP was screwed when i tried flashing a custom rom<currently on 4.0.2.A.0.42>. I flashed back to a stock rom but the touch would not respond.
On entering the Service menu>software Info i find this particular errand which concerns me:
Touch firmware version:
The phone doesn't support firmware version read.
can anyone explain me the meaning of it? is it usual or is it because my touchscreen is not working? are there any ways to update the driver files using terminal emulator or something just like this member mentions in his post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35811898#post35811898
One more thing, the xperia active fix for the touchscreen problem as mentioned by this senior member
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2061687
has yielded the following error in flashtool....
ERROR - ERR_SEVERITY="MAJOR";ERR_CLASS="SECURITY_CLASS";ERR_STATIC="IMAGE_ADDRESS_RANGE";ERR_DYNAMIC="SIN-block eraseblock mismatch";
may i know where i went wrong. Am desperate to get my XMP back to shape. Thankyou
Thread moved. Please post any questions you have here in Q&A where they belong in future.

My HTC Desire was on Gingerbread 2.3 and I then decided to root the phone with ClockWorkMod. I can flash any ROM fine but when I try to flash a radio it says 'Installation Aborted' and then tells me to use Edify Scripting?
Can someone please tell me what do from here??
If there's any information you need, please post it and i'll reply ASAP.
Thanks in advance!!!
I have exactly the same problem. I had to unroot for warranty and within repair they updated the official 2.3 for Desire. I had to re-root and because of the new bootloader I had to find new way to do that. Now my recovery say "Revolutionary CWM v.4.0.1.4." and when I try to falsh radio, it gives me the same info as mentioned above.
Any solution?

Moving to Q&A
Well I had the same problem my self, and after quite some searching I found a solution:
I the lower part of the post it's explained how to flash a new radio with fastboot:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=687464&page=158
and heres a quick guide on how to install fastboot

Hope it will help you - it helped me.
Hey everyone,
I am working on a ROM and I was wondering if someone can help me interpret the logcat. The problem is that the touch events are not being passed on from the kernel to the OS (I think). I know that the touch events are being registered by doing adb shell getevent. they do show up there. But nothing actually happens on the screen. I have modified the IDC file for the touchscreen in hopes that it would help get things working.
Here is the logcat. If anyone could take a look, I would really appreciate it!

Moving to Q&A
hey guys
I have a few questions about root and Tablet S
- Are there any known issues with root and (german) 3G-Models (SGPT114DE/S)?
- Is there a original Firmware for the SGPT114DE/S?
- Is it possible to flash back to Orginal "unrooted" FW ?
- how to "unroot" a rooted device?
I also have these questions
Hello again,
Thanks to the guys from the devoloper section!
my device (SGPT114DE/S) is rooted, without any problems!
I wrote a little Howto in german. But i'm not allowed to post links here, no 8 posts.
So i try it with a litte google description:
Go to google, search for "The Ratmans Galaxy Wire v2", on the site, visit the forum and look for the "Android 10"" section. In there u can find a little Howto written by me, in german!
nutz
Take a look here:
http://www.android-hilfe.de/root-hacking-modding-fuer-sony-tablet-s/
There is a tool in def section to root and unroot your device
U have a issue with sony tablet s (sgpt114de/s)..when i restore it it,popuping "unfortunately ols has stopped" And nothing work happening plz help
Dear friends, my tablet has stopped in the inicial tela (Sony) and no will go, what a make now?
hi i flashed my xperia ray with the ST18i_Official_4.0.4_Stock_ROM_RAY_jjdoctor i was on gingerbread 2.3.4 before and now i cant get past the cwm recovery screen it just keeps coming up and wont boot into the phone mode , any help wood be appreciated guys on what i have done wrong and hopefully i can rectify it
Can you please tell us in detail the steps you followed and what tools you used?
"I flashed it and it broke" is a bit hard to diagnose
1) I unlocked by bootloader by doing <thing you did>
2) I loaded flashtool and flashed <file X> I found <where'd you get file X>
3) Then I etc etc etc.
Then we can see if you missed a step, or did a step the wrong way around etc.
Cheers,
Tim
sorry lol was in a rush when typing this my bootloader was unlocked with the 2 probe method and wire and loaded the ST18i_Official_4.0.4_Stock_ROM_RAY_jjdoctor into the flashtool and just flashed , i got the file from the forums here i know i prob just done a stupid thing by flashing straight away but could really do with a step by step guide as im a noob at this kind of stuff or directed to a good guide , i also just restored the phone back to stock and its working again thanks to wotan client so i cant try again hopefully getting it right this time

I got stuck a lot of times but i haven't asked about it... because I researched...
then when I get stuck, I repeat, get stuck again, revert then look for another process
It always pays to be prepared
Yeah yeah, everyone is new when we start modding their phones... but due to the age(relative) of the thread, there were already exchanges of questions and answers.
I bet you haven't heard or seen the help thread
Here's what I do EVERYTIME I do mods on my phone:
research (what files, how to do it, expected results)
research (fallback methods, including what others have done, read the threads/conversations/posts etc...)
yeah they do take a long time (2 weeks to 1 month)... then...
I executed the processes on my own, and boom! they WORKED
It pays to be prepared...
could you please ask you question at the Q&A thread and not open up a new thread every time you stumble upon a problem where your question may or may not be answered already?
Guys , i flashd the recovery wich was posted in the thread,
but it does not work for me
m not able to boot into recovery w/o using any tool,
so if i am getting bootloop i hav to reflash the firmware..
plz help with some solution..
Ok, and now we should get our crystal ball and look on what thread and on what tool you think, right?
Good that you also posted in that thread, so it's easy to find it.
Always ask in original thread (if possible), and if you still need to create new thread, make sure to say what you used and from where.
Moved thread. Questions belong in the Q&A thread.
OP, You will always get quicker and better help if you:
1) Post in the correct section.
2) Give as many details as you can. What thread were you using? What tools? What firmware is your phone? Details like these can help people assist you more accurately.
Thanks.
