Audio - HTC Amaze 4G

When I plug in different headphones aside from the ones my phone came with I only hear through one ear piece. Why is that? With the standard ones it works fine (can hear from both ear pieces).

I had a slight different problem I had some old cheap headphone from eBay that I tried using when my original head phones got messed up from sweat from the gym and with cheap headphone the earphones didn't work... So in conclusion I think HTC phones don't work well with cheap earphones I also tried it on my HTC sensation and LG thrill and the LG was the only one that worked perfectly
"HTC Amaze - Nightmare Sense 1.6"
"HTC Sensation - MIUI"
"LG G2x - Stock and overclocked"
"LG Thrill - Slim Stock Rom"

It doesn't work with the iPhone headphones or my cars mp3. :-/ any idea how to get around this. at least in the car i wanna be able to listen to music.

Your amaze came with headphones?
All the headfones I have work fine, and so does my aux cable in my car. Have you tried different roms/kernels?

I agree with aj try a different Rom... Also cm10 has a bug that makes ur music stop for 1 second then keeps on going it happens often so I wouldn't recommend cm10 for music

New headphones for Touch HD 2 with music control - Anyone know if these headphones will work on the Touch HD?

Not sure if the music controls will work but the call button and mic should be ok at least.
My only concern would be the affect on the fm radio as this wont have an integrated antennae.
wen i bought my htc hd.... it came with the same headset with the media control.... i am in the uk...
re same headset
Just to clarify - are you saying you bought an HTC Touch HD which came with the HTC Touch HD 2 headset (complete with media controls) and it works ok with it?
If you could confirm this that would be great as I would like to buy this headset for my HTC Touch HD.
can anyone confirm that the headphones with the remote work with the blackstone?
thanks
I got my wife a HD2 yesterday so tried the headphones with NRG's ROM and the remote did not work other than for answering, hanging up and redialling calls.
Maybe does it work with ROMs based on HD2 oems? I think it should. Can someone confirm that?
don't bother, i got the hd2 and the stupid headset cannot even control the volume. Only possible to play, previous and next and answer call........

I thought that the ground lead acted as antenna. This because the plug is "only" 4 lead. gnd - left - right- mic.
1) i have "HTC Touch HD" and "RC E160" - work only microphone.
2) i change ROM - Gooru M4.0 - (based HTC HD2) - work only microphone.
"RC E160" (full functionality) for: "HTC Hero" (Android) and "HTC Tattoo" (Android)
may be helps people, who made ROM for WM
I've installed a WM6.5-ROM based on Touch HD2, but MusicControls won't work...
Maybe its just an Driver-Problem?!
Hi, i've found these from amazon, Jbuds J3M, do you guys think it will work on the touch HD
I can confirm that music controls of RC E160 doesn't work in touch HD...
also the quality of audio is really worse than the original of htc HD... maybe it is becuase of the crisis....

[Q] bluetooth audio streaming problem?

so i just got my htc rezound like 2 days ago and so far its wonderful (coming from a droid razr). the only stipulation im having is streaming audio via bluetooth to my car's stereo system (ford fusion with sync system). it sounds really crappy using the standard player htc gives you, but if you switch to amazon mp3's player it sounds good except for certain pitches and frequencies sound like crap. it almost sounds like crackling but not quite. gives it good bass back tho. so is there a way to fix this? i did unlock my phone like 4 hrs after getting it from the fedex guy. is there anything i can do to it go improve on the audio quality or is this gonna be a "wait for ICS and see" kinda deal?
Try PowerAmp or install a rom with DSP so you can tweak the audio settings.

k will give it a shot later tonight when i leave for work. i honestly dont think it has anything to do with the eq but i'll try it. i think its something with the bluetooth radio thats built in....maybe its just a crappy design idk.
any other ideas in the mean time? or anyone else having the same issue?
Never heard of this problem with differences between players.
Stream all day with my phone and only problems are with ICS not GB.
I have a Ford Focus (with sync) and mine sounds pretty good, but not as good as when I had full time beats on my EVO3D. They only thing I do is turn the volume up on the phone while its playing through the speakers. I do this but using the volume rocker on the side during playback. Its not as good as a CD but not too bad either. Tried to get the guy that fixed it on the 3D to look at the Rezound but he never responded to my PM. I have played with DSP Manager and you can get some improvement. Also other EQs exist in the market that can improve the quality.
<3 ford focus, are you saying it just lacks an equalizer's touch or does it crackle? =o
No Problem
I use the MotoROKR T505 for my car. Bluetooth stereo music over the car speakers is never a problem, regardless of using stock player, meridian, or poweramp.
Zone is right. Turn the volume all the way up. It took me awhile to figure this out. I think its radio interference that you're hearing.

well i tried poweramp from the market and it made some improvement...but still not as crisp as i'd like. it seems like with some of the higher frequencies over bluetooth it kind of mashes them together sort of. idk but coming from a droid razr i can definitely tell a difference. that phone was amazing when it came to audio quality over bluetooth. for now i guess i'll try to rig up the usb cord so my sync system can read the files from my phone or either buy a cheep aux input cord for my ford....until ICS is released....hopefully they made some type of improvement.
edit: i always have the volume maxed out via the rocker on the side....learned that day 1 of having an ipod long ago lol. the droid razr definitely puts out cd quality audio over bluetooth and i was kind of expecting this phone to do the same or better, not sub-par performance.
I wonder if that is the razr's 4.0 bluetooth that provided so

In-Line mics not working!

So I recently did a warranty exchange to another Note and I can't get any in-line mics to work (Apple iPhone headphones and Koss PortaPro KTCs) both of those headphones seem to work on my brothers iPhone 4 but not my HTC Desire Z. My Note is running the Team perfection ROM and I tried a couple more and they still don't work... though pause/play does and even makes a sound from the in-line when pushed but the mic doesn't work... Any ideas?
Are in line mics working for anyone else?
Almost 200 views and no replies? ; - ;
I just tried 4 sets of headphones with mics. One from a Samsung epic, one from a Motorola Droid (unknown model), one from an HTC Desire Hd, and a $20 set of AUVIO from radio shack. All 4 mics work properly for phone calls and voice recordings. I did not try the buttons to see what effects they have with music apps or redialing.
I always thought headsets were universal. I have even used ones in the past made for an iphone.

Bad / low audio from this phone

Hey guys, does anyone have this issue? The audio from the loudspeaker is just crap, and also the position of it is away from the screen?? What sense does that make? I'm trying to watch a video, not broadcast the video's audio to everyone in my general area (except me).
Now that's a physical problem and can't be fixed. What I'm really mad / inraged about is the jack audio. Any type of headphones I plug into is extremely quite. Compared to my old phone (xperia play) I can't hear anything....is this normal? Does anyone else have any similar problems? I can't even wear these outside and listen to music, the wind and car noise is far louder. I'm forced to bring my old xperia play instead just to hear something (which btw, it's like twice as loud on this phone) and if that's going to be the case every day then it's time to sell this Evo 3D.
Another side note is that the range of the audio is also not very good, I can hear it struggle with high ranges as it makes "pops" in the audio...very disappointing..

My audio has always been fine, but maybe you could try using an EQ or something (might need to be rooted)

It's possible that my phone is faulty, but let me ask you this; what volume is your phone at when you think it's fine? I have to place mine at max to be "fine", not great, but fine. While the xperia play is at 50% being just fine.

I personally keep mine at 30% - 40%, it's a comfortable volume. Anything past 70% is a bit too loud. Do you think it may be your headphones..? Or it could possibly be a software issue like your ROM.

Originally I thought it was my rom, so I flashed another; same issue, so then I flashed the RUU...same issue. Tried different headphones, same issue, tried the same headphones on different devices...works completely fine at loud audio. Guess the phone is screwed. It already doesn't have any gsm radio connectivity.

Yeah, a hardware issue would make sense if nothing else is working.

Are you using the HTC headphones? Because after plugging in the original HTC headphones it came with, I found that these headphones are loud and working correctly. So it seems that any other 3rd party headphones will not duplicate the same result. That is unfortunately because I hate the htc ones, they don't cancel out background sound at all. They all have the exact same jack, 3 rings, same size, etc. But the HTC one is different. When plugging those headphones into my xperia it gives an error and says they aren't supported. So it's obvious that HTC put some type of technology into them that differs them from regular headphones.
Edit: Alright, so I tried yet another pair of headphones lying around and they work fine too. Is it possible that I tried the worlds only two headphones that don't work well with this phone? In any case, I'm no longer mad about the jack audio, it's obviously fine. But the loudspeaker is and always will be an issue, which sucks but oh well.

Nope, using third-party (JVC) headphones. Good to see you've got it sorted out though. Also I agree about the loudspeaker, it's a piece of crap. My old Evo 4G had a better one.
My phone is quite loud!
On mwakious Rom and it has tweaked audio settings.
It's gsm but maybe try the xloud mod available. Should improve audio volume

[Q] HTC One X+ Can't play music via USB in car

Hi, I bought new htc one x+ (ATT) and when I connect this phone to my car via USB, I am not able to play music. While using Aux it works great but I loose the ability to have control over the steering wheel. Unfortunately I don't have a Bluetooth in my car. I would really love to see this work, there should be some possible solution for this. I used to have iphone 4 earlier, and it was working great. I switched to android-- htc one x plus, I like this phone, its a great phone but it lacks some basic features like this one. The only problem is with USB in Car i am not able to play music but the phone gets charged . Any solutions are most appreciated.
Since your car stereo doesn't support mtp (don't know of any that do yet)
You can't, there are no solutions. If I were you I'd invest in a car mount and use the aux cable.
Slithered from my HTC One X+
