Try turning your phone off, then press power and volume up and down simultaneously, I use two fingers on the volume instead of one finger in the middle, keep trying, if this doesn't get you there I'm at a loss, good luck and I suggest installing safestrap for your recovery needs in the future

Boot into recovery after s-off

Hmmm
Only way I can boot into recovery is to do a battery pull.
If I just power down it just reboots.
Anyone else? Fix?

Is your fastboot on?
Settings> power> fastboot
If so then turn it off.

yep this saved me yesterday. I couldn't figure out wth was going on, but disabling fastboot worked.
I downloaded Quick Boot from the market. The process of pulling the battery and accessing the recovery console through fastboot is too tedious.
If you like the fastboot option then you can enter recovery by selecting restart phone and then when the screen blacks out hold the volume down button until it reboots into recovery. If you press it to early it will lower your volume to vibrate but after reboot you can just increase your volume again.
Nope fast boot unchecked....

Pull battery or go to "Restart" in the power menu. Keep the Volume-Down button held down. Then hit Recovery.
Yeah. Battery pull works ....hut that's a pain to do every time....

Hit restart, hold down volume button while it restarts.

Why would you manually do anything....
QUICKBOOT!!!
It's free and works every time.
ETA: Even if you keep Fastboot checked, Quickboot app will put you into bootloader or recovery properly. Donate version adds Hotboot to the menu of options as well as (I can't remember as I have had the app for years) Power Off.

Superuser question

When I attempted to root my phone, I got this message from the superuser app. Its pretty self explanatory, but is it safe to do for the ATRIX without bricking? And how do I get into recovery for the ATRIX? I have an ATRIX running 2.3.4. I have plenty of experience with flashing the X10.

Yes...this should be safe to flash! To get into recovery, turn off the phone and then hold the volume down key while turning the phone back on. Keep holding vol down until you see fastboot. Then press volume down until you see android recovery. Then press volume up to enter recovery. This is assuming you've already flashed tenfars recovery...

In the middle of flashing my phone rebooted and now it keeps bootlooping. When i try to get into fastboot it just restarts after a couple seconds. When it first turns on, i can see it on adb for a few seconds but the phone says offline next to it. Help please!!!!!!!!!!

I know that, when ever i do that though, after a couple of seconds the bootloader will restart too, thats why i cant get back into recovery
So you can get to the bootloader but it reboots also. Is the battery low?

Question about boot loops

I'm about to trade many galaxy s3 for a droid DNA, and will be rooting and unlocking after getting it. I flash a lot of mods on many s3 and one common problem I've had is the infamous boot loop. I'd just pop my battery and reset. What would be the way to get out of a boot loop on the DNA being that it has a non removable battery?

Hold down the power button to shut it down or the volume down button to get into recovery on boot.
Edit, didn't realize you were asking a general question...
