What are the things you did to improve the sound of your phone over stock when playing music?
Software, firmware etc...
Just flash the siya kernel and install the stweaks app then increase the head phone amplifier to 60 and keep the preset to pleasant to ear then install the mega bass beats then from the dsp manager keep the base to extreme then use the stock samsung music player and keep the sound alive preset to virtual 7.1 and while listening to music keep the volume at 8

i suggest you go to the Themes&Apps section and look for some tweaks that may suit your wants.

Hello guys, I'm new here and very new to the android platform. I got rid of my iphone for the amaze but the first thing i noticed was how quiet the music players volume is. I like to listen to my music really loud. Is there anyway to increase the volume. i've tried an app volume + but that didn't really do much. Any help would be appreciated.

I recommend going to the MARKET and downloading an app called POWERAMP. You can download the free trial that last about 2 weeks before it expires (you can uninstall the app and reinstall it every time to refresh the trial) or you can help out the devs and buy the pro version for about $5.99. Poweramp has a bunch of different settings for sound gaining, treble, bass, preamp etc. I definitely recommend it!

Thanks for the reply but i tried that app. That app just has a bunch of different EQ setting's to make the music sound louder but it also makes the music sound bad. I use playerpro which has the same settings with the dsp pack. Any way to increase the main sound? Like directly from the audio server.

I've been looking everywhere for something to use on my desktop PC that is similar to what the Player's SoundAlive bass setting does. It's just perfect - great bass boost with negligible impact on volume, zero distortion and no need to fiddle around with the equalizer.
The only thing I've found so far that is similar would be Poweramp's tone controls for treble and bass, but I haven't come across a software solution that would do that.
Do you guys know of any software like this, preferably something compatible with foobar2000? Or maybe what exactly is the technology behind the SoundAlive bass boost? Thanks in advance!
If you use foobar2000, why not using the equalizer plugin in foobar2000?

I do use it, but the results are far from the quality of the SoundAlive bass boost. I don't think the Player's bass boost can be achieved by simply boosting the lower frequencies on a graphical equalizer.
any answers
How about DNSe instead?
DNSe is previous version of samsung equalizer and used at samsung mp3 Yepp series.
Emodio was pc programm that can get theme or lyrics and else.(Nowadays this services were closed.) This programm use DNSe and It can play music.
I run my phone to my car stereo, wondering of any one else does this? What rom/kernel/music player combo. I've found that most aosp roms have poor audio quality, seems to make my subs sound like crap

Yep you have to install some equalizer to make the sound decent from an aosp rom, since I use my phone for music constantly I use sense roms for a daily driver.

Neo CM10.1 rom + IHateWebOS latest test kernel + power amp music program = ear orgasm.
Sounds a lot better than any stock sense rom i have heard so far.
but it also depends on the equipment you have, what settings you have, what you like to listen too, ect.....
Using Vigor360 still. But Sense 3.6 and the Beats mod sounds great. My only complaint is that the Play Music app sounds horrible on bluetooth. Using the headphone jack for Play Music, and any other app on bluetooth sound fine.
Hearing that the AOSP roms don't sound all that great makes me hope there will eventually be a 'leaked' JB update from HTC...odds are not great on that though.
This is easy. Get rid of any sound defects apps (HtcMusicEnhancer.apk, HtcMusicEnhancer.odex, HtcBeatsNotify.apk, HtcBeatsNotify.odex). Turn off any equalizer, or set it to "flat" if it can't be turned off. If your preamp doesn't have enough gain, get Volume+. A direct connection will sound better than Bluetooth. The only reason a ROM would make things sound bad is if it's screwing with the (raw/decoded, depending on the source) bitstream.
I just use poweramp and mess with the EQ a lot.
I use Equalizer with Pacman.

I use to love using DSP Manager, for whatever reason it only seems to work with Apollo now so it's useless to me.
Hello everybody,
I just installed the latest Hyperdrive ROM, however I noticed that now my music quality has gone way down.
I usually connect it to my car that has subs and the intensity of the subs has decreased tremendously. Nothing has changed expect the phone.
Is there an app that boosts the volume on the earphone port? (other than Viper4FX)
Did the ROM decrease the original volume??
You should update Viper. The version that comes with rls14 causes some issues. Also edit the headset options in Viper to your liking.

Go to the settings>device>sound>music effects and select the music fx. Then go back into the music app and try the equalizer.
If I'm using Viper I have to do this sometimes to reset the driver somehow. It's worth the work and the result is great. Viper works with my HD 15

Hey, thanks for the suggestion. But one question. I'm subscribed to Google Play Music how can I increase the level from Google music app?
The songs downloaded are not recognised by 3rd party Music Players. Even Poweramp is not recognising it.
It is pretty clear that the device has the potential to deliver the best audio at an optimum level but people at Asus are giving a deaf ear to this. I guess a little bit of coding or just a software update can sort the problem. Or some hack might help.

When i will get time i will try to boost sound at kernel level.......
Or just use viper4android or something like that, the dolby atmos, or other sound mods are also available. They work systemwide. I haven't tested and don't know any will work or not. Report here if someone tries.
Poweramp Hi-Res Output will only work if Viper4FX is not installed. With Viper the audio is capped at 16 bit, uninstall it and experience 24 bit audio. It does make a huge difference for high quality music files (lossless .FLAC). Happy with my Shure SE 215 now.
Viper ,Dolby are capped only upto 16bit 48khz ..,..
Poweramp uses its own build DSP to trigger 24bit 384khz of sd636 built in DAC bypassing Nxp smart amp.....
Poweramp is dope......none can match its sound quality.....
I hope that Nxp smart amp support 24bit 384khz audio seraching a way to implement it
Works amazingly man. Now I can finally retire my Mi A1.
Works nice...but after enabling.... I can't control it's volume. Even with system media volume to zero....songs play at maximum sound.
