Hey guys,
I was wondering if you had run into this problem where some images seem to load pixelated.
This happens in the browser, people hub(pictures), facebook, email(html), pretty much anywhere pictures load.
If I check the same on my Samsung Focus, all pictures load fine.
Any idea?
Thanks
Connection problem?
No connection problems. The issue happens in any app that has loads pictures, even imdb.
Anyone experiencing this issue?

I am not experiencing this issue...
Pictures seem to load in chunks, so they'll start pixelated but clear up.
Have you tried over, say, WiFi and seen if it makes a difference?

Has anyone every taken apart the Thunderbolt to replace a bad screen with a new one and ever had the screen go black after repairing? I havent found anything on this, so im hoping someone has had this issue and found a resolving fix for it.
Ive tried 2 different screens and they both go black. I think I might be missing something thats causing this to go black, maybe a pressure sensor or a ground not touching...

Yes, I know of the site and I used their video (Kudos) but there is nothing there about this issue.
Has anyone had this experience with their htc flyer? My flyer has an orange or redish colour running from top to bottom, nearly in the middle of the screen.
Advice welcome.
So nobody has experienced this with their flyers?
You should post a picture of it.

never seen that before..the only thing i could think of would be heat damage from leaving it in a hot car? but that's just a wild guess.
have you ever sat on the flyer, or left it out on the sun, or let somebody else play with it?
No, never done any of that. I look after it really well.
What do you think I need to do now?

Hmm that's really strange. You can't think of ANYTHING irregular that might have happened to it at all?

The only strange thing I can remember was a prompt about more current to the device. This prompt appeared on three different occasions. I ignored the prompt because the device was not connected to any power source.
Other than that, there is nothing I can think of.
Well, I would call up HTC Support, if it's not your fault then they might fix it.
They fixed my bricked Flyer, which was my fault, so they're pretty nice.

Could be due to high resolution. Most of the apps images are build for standard resolution.
Lack of high res apps might be one of the reasons but yeah the phone has 720p screen and 16m colors !

true...but if the resolution of the image isn't there, it's not there notice the pixelation as well on those examples? They just don't scale well...
Exactly, as well as some apps are just not written for this screen resolution
like Photobucket.

It's not an issue in the phone. It's an issue in the app using a low-quality image.
Your 2 year old desire does not have a high enough resolution or color depth to show this, but if it did, you would see the same thing.

I'm actually more concerned with why my screen looks so different from kdadone's. Same phone and same application.. His pic looks at least much more acceptable than mine.
Does using the root image from development section affect anything in terms of 'display driver' that renders the screen?

I have exactly the same as you have. I think his is the same as well, just resized to a smaller version. Think the resize smooths it out a bit.

I dont believe that I altered the snap shot, all I did is that I took a snap shot from the phone which is unrooted btw and attached it in the topic! I'm running firmware. 67

Hey friendly members of XDA,
My phone started to flicker recently and I could not figure out why it does this...
http://youtu.be/uhSOd6tlVgw
I did not have any water damage or physical damage to my phone but it started doing this randomly. When my phone gets colder, the screen starts to flicker, then half of the screen flickers with a yellow hue, then after a while the screen will be yellow. Also, while the phone is cold, the screen will not turn on. (I failed to show this in the video). Is there something I can do to fix this?
When I warm my phone up with my hands, the flickering goes away and everything goes back to normal.
Thank you,
Jerry

More info...rooted? Using ROM w/mdk boot loader?using ROM w/safestrap?if stock which firmware are you using?all these things will give people more info to help you with the problem...and all these variables can all have their own quirks and problems...give a little more info and I'm sure someone here will be able to help
Sounds like a graphical blobs problem but I don't how internal temperature could affect that.

What should I do? My phone is still under warranty. Should I send it in?
Since your phone is still under warranty, you'd better send it to Samsung after-sales department for checking. Maybe it is free!

It's up to you but I probably would. If something physical is affecting your phone then there's some type of hardware issue with your phone. Unfortunately xda can only help with software.

Well you could try flashing the latest Adreno drivers for our phone in recovery, if you still have SafeStrap that is.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ygyqpqmz6m30yuj/UPDATE-adreno-drivers-jflte9505.zip
Filename says i9505 but it's good for our Verizon S4s too.
Probably is a hardware issue if you've already tried Odin and different ROMs but hey worth a try if your going to send it back anyways.

similar screen flickering problem in cold ish environment, diagnosis.
I have a similar flickering problem. Is related to "cold temper.". There is a translucent rectangle that pops-up and overlays 80% of the screen (lower side) - it flickers. The rectangle is light grey and the screen icons etc are underneath it. However, the grey gets more and more dense and eventually, the rectangle becomes solid grey with less flicker, then, you can no longer see the screen contents beneath it. Also, the overlaid rectangle grows to about 95% of the screen. Only part of the notification line on top is visible. Amazingly, the screen and touching the various icons and buttons still works 100% perfectly ... only problem is you cannot see what you are touching ; . . . so you have to guess where the various icons and buttons are, . . . and touch them accordingly (blindly so to speak). I suspect there is a background "phantom" task that is running, pertinent to various sensors ( ex. proximity) that is misbehaving. This phantom task likely is launched after a wake-up or re-boot event. Eventually, the phantom task slows-down its strange work, the flickering and the greyness of the translucent rectangle is reduced, and after few seconds it goes away and the phone works fine again. So my diagnosis is: some kind of fault between a background running task and the GPU O/S driver. The problem is critical in that if you are out in a snow-storm scenario and want to use your phone, simply, you won't be able to, the flickering obstruction can last 5-10 minutes.
Has anybody solved the problem with 100% satisfactory result ?

Hey xda people.
I'm using Omnirom on p3110 and have had an issue with WatchESPN across a few roms.
I'm guessing it's an issue with DPI for that app, but honestly it's just a guess. It looks like the screen is tearing outside of the viewing window.
Anyone have an idea and how to remedy it? I have a screenshot I can send.
Thanks!
