This is my main concern as well. I don't want JB if it breaks wifi tether. I know you can root to get it back, but I have no reason to root besides that so I don't really want to.

As of now, I read on droidrzr there is no root for JB. Only way to keep root is to use vodoo ota rootkeper!
I updated and foxfi is not working now.

Nothing fancy. Everything is exactly the same with BLUR, no new apps or anything, no refinements.
The Dual Core underneath the Motorola boot logo is gone
The boot animation is even MORE out of sync now with the audio
New Notification bar pulldown matching jellybean exactly, otherwise unchanged
Google Now opens if you long press search
Butter, of course.
That's it.

It didn't even cross my mind, and I just read this thread and tried FoxFi, and it is NOT working. When you activate it, it displays a message saying it is checking the subscription status, and then a message displays that tells me to call an 800-number because my order could not be processed.
Damn, should have thought about this first. I do like JB otherwise (a lot), but this is a real bummer.

I haven't tried FoxFi using Bluetooth, but I have "Open Garden" installed on my devices, and I just use that to connect via Bluetooth until hopefully FoxFi's WiFi is fixed.
I will not update to JB until foxfi works with it. It is just too good an app to lose.

it won't let me link to it since I'm new but you can just Google "DroidRazrRoot Free Wifi Tether" and it's the first result.
I tried Barnacle like I did on my Incredible and it had a few problems.

I tried Opengarden and some other and could not get it to work. SSID would show up under "devices" on my macbook, not sure what that means...
Ended up using the Android-wifi-tether mentioned above (had to find it on google's code site as well) and it worked great. I used to use the same app on my Incredible as well.
Mr. Koush also has a new USB tethering app he's testing (and wants help testing) that doesn't even require root.

wi-fi tether
I would like to add Foxfi to the list of apps in this thread. It is extremely easy to use and I haven't found any problems with it so far. I've used plenty of different apps in the past and so far, this one has been my favorite.
I used WiFi Tether until I upgraded to .211. Now I did the SQLLite hack and it works great.
i tried fox and open garden, both was giving errors on my moms tablet.....
i tried barnacle but it was giving errors on the razr
i went with wifi tether its so smooth and silky with it.
This app will install Beats Audio driver to your system. You will hear a big difference on high end phones but even low end devices will profit from this drivers. DSP Manager will likely not work on many devices.

I would like to second sokos1 question. It can be that my sound system are not advanced enough (Droid Razr XT910 ICS, Pioneer headphones SE-MJ21, BOSE Companion 3 Series II speaker), but I notice no difference in sound after installing this app.
I have two questions:
1. Why there are no mention of this app at all in the so called "original thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1525226&highlight=installer)" that is referred on its Google Play page?
2. I have found following files that has "beats" in their name, can I just removed them to properly uninstall this app without bricking or destroying my Razr sound system?
Thanks :good:

No flash on motorola ics. adobe has stopped the support. install the custom cm9 rom , it has adobe flash that works.
Since the RAZR was heavily advertised to support flash, take it into the Verizon store, cause a stink and pick your favorite phone. They should change it out if you absolutely need Flash, especially since it was a selling point that vanished with an OS update.

Another option is to set your user agent to iPhone. Many sites have html5 variants but developers have not caught on to the Android ICS and flash relationship. However, iOS has had non flash compatibility since the beginning, so websites have developed alternatives.
Ideal...no but works surprisingly well. Overall, while painful non, this move is for the best. Flash can do some great things, but html5 is a better platforms on low performance devices, like phones.

Motorola updated their Android Software Update News page today with good news for XT910 owners worldwide. You might remember if you checked the page before, XT910 wasn't even mentioned with a possible update. Anyways, that has changed today. We're getting official Android 4.1 update. Eventhough we don't know when ! :good:
As a sidenote, It would be early to become happy until they deliver the update cause in motorolas' update cases, promises could be broken easily and relentlessly. That's why i am adding a proof for future reference.

I would love to get the update as soon as possible but Q1 of 2013 is fine for me.
So ****ing good news! Let's hope we receive it as soon as possible because the jump from ICS -> JB is not as big as GB -> ICS
Thats good news. The "for select countries and carriers" isn't what i really wanted to read. Lets hope this time they will deliver fast. /me crosses fingers.

Hi Guys, I would really appreciate some help with my XT910 to be able to get this update when it will be release. I managed to install the Rogers 4.04 leak some months ago when we were all waiting fot the OTA. Now, I think I wont be able to update with this version. How can I install the official version. Do I need to reinstall GB and do the OTA update? Thank you.
@Duce43,
You'll easily flash 4.1 when it's available..You shouldn't flash gingerbread stock roms anymore, once you're on ics you should only flash ics roms! Read the sticky threads !
**************
We have great and talented free developers that develop our and their phones. More importantly motorola supporting our device to Android 4.1 I feel lucky where many good phones from other manufacturers didn't get official 4.1 , XT910 gets it. Thanks to Google and Motorola. Second hit like an early jb leak rom would be classy, too.

When v3 is released you will need to full wipe. Cause of a new Rom base .
And I don't use Skype so it will be a gamble if it works or not. And mms will depend on carrier too. Cause I know with net10 they haven't fixed the mms bug they have. But if someone confirms about other gsm carriers working then I can try and see if it's just a framework issue
Sent from my HTC Droid DNA using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
i've installed several roms on my DNA over the past year and this one runs the best, thanks again.
I have a question about storage. I have 11gigs of "other". I reinstalled the rom this time selecting wipe everything, however, i still have 11gigs of other. How can i get rid of this massive partition of data?
Battery problem
After flashing it, the battery seems to have some problem. When I fully charged my devices and unplugged the cable, the battery percentage in the status bar would soon drop from100% to 90%. I have no idea how to fix it...Any body knows how to make that correct?:crying::crying::crying:

i experienced the same issue, but i found out it is because i never power cycled..... meaning i never let my phone die and would always charge it before it died.. so here is what i did ro fix that issue
1. use your phone till it dies
2. let it charge untill its back at 100% ( green light )( An charge it with the phone off )
3. once fully charged boot your device and repeat steps 1-2 again and it will fx the battery issue
