Just picked up a 64gig sandisk sd formatted with easeus and it works with everything. Album music everything you dont need apps like poweramp and whatnot they must have added support. So much storage spaaaaccceeee

In my case sandisk 64gig also works well. I have 64 gb microsdxc with sd adapter. I formated it via xperia arc from stock exFat to Fat32. Vendor apps sees sdcard also.
Have you gotten apps to run off the sd yet? Like putting the android data on the sd card!!
Sent from my LT28i using xda app-developers app
Do you mean putting app data ( eg big games ) from sd/android/data to sdcard2 sth like move 2 sd option? I havent found solution/app for doin that. Maybe someone else could help you. Btw sony reader 3.0 didnt scan sdcard2 storage.
Ok thanks anyway

I use SCRIPTER from google play. I've had a lot of success with this program. At the moment I am using a 32gb class 10 using the script
mount -o bind /mnt/sdcard2/data/ mnt/sdcard Space after mount, bind and space before the second mnt. With this config the sony only shows up the 32gb sdcard. If you have anything on the internal memory I would guess you will have to download the apps again.
This is particularly good for all those hungry games that require data.
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Regards,
David.
I found one called binder and u just press the button and it does everything for you including.moving the files

the lack of large files support (4G and larger) makes bigger storage useless.

I guess he means since it is FAT32? You can not store files over 4GB..... Like a DVD ISO I guess? LOL

Wow he must have some gigantic bluerays hahah
Sent from my LT28i using xda app-developers app
720p H.264 Matroska is typically around 4GB for a movie, and if they want 1080p that's typically 8GB, so it's understandable that a blu ray disk encoded to H.264 would be that large and present an issue if you are limited to FAT32 filesystem file sizes
Why would you want that on a tablet?? 750mb movies look just fine on this small as screen
Sent from my Sony Tablet S using xda app-developers app
Well, 1080p files would be kinda pointless on this tablet because it's only capable of 720p resolution and would have to downscale and possibly loose image quality, but 720p movie files are not unreasonable. I suppose some people may want to utilize the maximum resolution afforded to them by this tablet (1280x800, whereas 720p is 1280x720). Since most HD quality movies are ripped to the Matroska H.264 file format, it's not unreasonable to assume someone might want to get the most out of their tablets by watching the files at 720p resolutions since it is capable of that.
Exactly its just a waste haha

Any of you gentlemen have had any issues creating data on a micro sdxc?
I just picked up a 64gb sandisk micro sdxc, formatted to fat32, yet I am unable to create any data on the sd card.
I encounter an error whenever I try to make a new folder. Copy/Pasta doesn't work either. I am on an unrooted Xperia Tablet S 4.0.3(release3).
Halp!
I've got a Kingston 128GB formatted at exFAT (did it on my laptop) and it works just fine on my Xperia Tablet S 4.0.3 (release6b). Now I remembered that the update 6b is exactly to provide support for SDXC (64 or 128 gb) cards so I guess you have to update?

The movie "The Green Hornet" is in a hidden folder on the sd card....PERIOD!!!!! That is your answer, can't be anymore straight forward than that.
i found the movie under .data htcwatch preloaded movies and i copied all of the files to the movie over to my 16gb micro.
It's on the SD card. I couldn't play it until I copied the stock card over to my new card.

Yes, I have it on my 3D and it looks amazing with the qHD screen. The resolution actually looks better than it does on my computer (probably because it's more compact and not stretched).
Pay the $2.99 for it on the Amazon App store and support the company for making such a great game.
I did not copy anything from the original SD Card and my spiderman worked just fine

Do you guys know that the EVO 3D takes a SDHD (HD) sdcard? You can't put a regular micro SDHC card in there. Cuz I bought a "Lexar" class 6 16gb micro SDHC card from Lexar, for $60. The manager at the sprint store said I couldn't use it in my EVO 3D, cuz it took a SDHD sdcard, not a SDHC.

He lied or has no clue what he's talking about. I have this card in my 3vo with no issues. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004H8FTCU
SDHC = Secure Digital High Capacity. A few google searches and I can't find anything that shows SDHD.
Is it possible to use an external hard drive with this? Was thinking it would be a great to dump photos, etc to more quickly than using WiFi or MTP.
If so, what do you have to do, and do you need ext3/4 file system?
Thanks!

I'd like to know this also. I have a 1T external with all my media on it that would be very useful in long road trips or overnight stays for the kids.
Haven't done so with the 201 but an NTFS drive connected to the USB port on the 101 dock worked well. No reason to think it wouldn't do the same with the prime.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Oh hell yes!
I have the dock and I have the 1T external hd. I have done what you've asked about and it makes it so much easier than running it through the laptop or a pc. Just plug it in and copy/paste.
I mean, unless I don't understand what you are asking.....you don't need to do anything. the tablet is recognized as a drive, the external is recognized as another drive. I also have and micro sd drive inserted so when I went to File Explorer I just copied and pasted. Books and movies mostly. Most of my photos live in a cloud, so does my music. Of course I'll make some of that avl' offline.
Ok, how did you get it to recognize it?
I have a 1 TB Western Digital USB drive and it powered up, but it didn't do anything. I went into storage and it it didn't see it.
Have you tried using it on a "main" computer and access it via Samba, or hooked up to your router as NAS?
Sent from my HTC Inspire "4G" using XDA Premium App
Nevermind. I see that it just works. It didn't come up the first time, but reattaching worked.
It's mounted under /Removable/USBdisk1, next to the MicroSD card.
Works like a charm... Plug in the disk and you can manipulate the files and folders with just about any File Manager on your Prime. I actually like the Asus file manager quite a bit, though use ES Explorer also. I only have Windows file systems on my Usb Hard Drives, so NTFS and FAT32 will be just fine. I've never timed it, but I would guess that copying a GB takes a minute, plus or minus.

Ok, I'm curious.
I've seen this in kernels for phones where CIFS support is included, and I'm guessing you're alluding to that here as well. How do you actually use that with an Android device?

I have ReadyNAS, and can view into it at any time with my phone. I figured that there would me some version of "Connected Media" app for this device. Maybe there is something available on the market that can stream media?
I know with the stock HTC music app, I can listen to music streamed from my NAS.

Okay so here's my problem, I hame an xperia tablet S and a dock hooked up with hdmi to my TV. I want to hook up my external HD to it for HD movies and what not but it will only read the HD formatted as Fat32 and as most of you know, it will only accept files up to 4gigs. Well that kind of kills HD. I also cannot root my device as it is release 6b . Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
