[Q] Sim card holder broken? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a cut down sim card that i use for my galaxy s3. The sim card holder accpeted the cut down sim and everything was fine. It would click out and in fine. Today after i flashed a new rom the mobile data kept dropping out. I thought it was my sim so i tried to click it out and it wouldnt come out. I seached ways to take it out online and finally used a thumb tack to slowly push it out in the little hole. Now the sim wont fit in the phone and everytime i shake my phone a ting sound comes from the sim card slot. I think it is broken. Where would i be able to fix it? Will warrenty cover that? thanks.

i believe warranty will not cover that considering...
1. you applied force in taking the sim card out..
2. it is not a factory defect

[XPU] Sim slot problem :(

One of my friend bought a xperia U, which is from T-Mobile Deutsch (Germany [IDK]), I tried to put the sim as it on the guide + but It's just going deeper, without locking When I try other side It click or locks down (I can hear the sound) ! and I've tried 4 side of the sim 2 sides clicks another 2 side just get deeper ! then I have to use a pin to get the sim out in addition to that 4 side says no SIM card in the slot What could be the problem ???
Well sounds like your simcard got stuck in the lot.
Go to a T-mobile store and they can help you with getting it out and also making a new sim card. Because if you turned it around and stock it in the wrong way you might have scratched the copper surface of the simcard and cause problems in the future.

[Q] My phone had an issue?

I tried out a new sim card with an adapter nano to regular and all was good, then swapped back to my regular sim and the phone doesn't recognise the old sim card?
I've tried factory reset didn't work
Trying recovery now
Stuck my sim card into the tablet and it works fine.
Weird thing I stuck a virgin one it works and a three network card also works but will not accept my old sim card again?
The phone was bought unlocked and sim free had it for three years only thing done under warrantee was a USB socket that snapped but HTC did fix that?
Any suggestions or is it just time for a new phone?
Thanks
Jay

Just got a lumia 920 that's locked to AT&T and displays a sim card error.

I recently purchased a locked 920 that has a sim card issue. I knowingly bought the phone broken since I was getting it for a good price (70$).
Either way, every time you put the phone in, it displays a message stating that the sim card is missing or invalid. Some forums told me to put a piece of tape under the sim card tray before putting in the sim card , but it didn't work unfortunately...
I need help on finding the part to replace my phone. I'll try opening it up later to see if one of the contacts are bent.

Without unlocking the phone it won't accept any unofficial sim card.

I know that. Unfortunately it doesn't prompt me with an option to enter the unlock code when I open the phone with the new sim card inside.

the pins in the sim card slot are likely broken. this is a common issue with this phone if someone used a sim card adapter inside of it.

No SIM card detected

Every so often, the message will pop up that no SIM card is detected and that the watch needs to restart? I have checked SIM card placement as well as ensured the door is properly inserted back into the watch. Anyone else having this problem?

I bought two gear s' from tmobile, out of the box one of them did that and even when swapping the sims around, it seemed to follow the watch. I called tmobile and they redid the provisioning of the sim, she said the order was stuck in some sort of loop. I never had that issue again and its been a few months already.

Thanks. Just so I understand, they reset your SIM or did they replace it?

She said that she "re-provisioned" it. After she did that it went from no sim detected to working normally within a few minutes. This was with a brand new watch with brand new sims directly from Tmobile.
I am having this issue as well. I can not get the watch to even see my sim card at all. What may be the issue?
I'm having the same issue.
Even my SIM card is not detected. This happened after over a year of use. Is this a hardware problem? Or will flashing modem.bin fix this issue?

Motorola DROID RAZR XT912 sim card slot broken.

I have a Motorola DROID RAZR XT912 which I was using with a sim card adapter but when I tried to remove it the sim adapter got stuck so I forced it out and think that something in that slot got bent now I can't insert a sim card in the slot. So what I want to know is that is there a way to repair the sim card slot? also if any one was in a similar situation like this one then please let me know if you were able to get it fixed. Thanks to everyone in advance.
I have this situation, and I am on PagePlus cellular, so it doesn't require me to have a SIM card, but I don't get 4G (I am on 3G right now), and it limits me from using Android Lollipop, as that requires you to have a SIM card to make calls/texts and use data. I don't know how to fix it though...

Every time I put in a sim card, it doesn't click in. I have tried with a T-Mobile SIM card that I cut, and that works (It clicks in place), but I don't want to risk messing it up, so I won't buy a full Verizon SIM card for the time being (I also don't want to mess up cutting it and cut it too large)

Well, I do have a backup phone (HTC Droid Incredible), but it is really slow and the voice quality sucks, so I am stuck with this for now.
