I am coming from the droid incredible where their was always 1 reliable sure fire way to root the phone. I have found many rooting methods for the S3 and have bricked one already (something that never happened to the incredible). I am looking for the most up to date reliable method for the sprint s3.
Phone is a Spriint LPH-L710 running JB 4.1.1 And yes, I have searched this question and have found multiple replies for multiple methods and that's what got me in trouble the first time.
Thanks......

I purchased the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 4G from Bell yesterday. As well, yesterday I bricked it. I blame myself for not reading enough on the device. I assumed the wifi root process was the same.
Today I got it replaced. I noticed that the model number for the Bell version of the Tab 10.1 is GT-P7500M.
Can anyone confirm which method I should use to root this device? And hopefully get CWM working as well.
I have searched the forum, and google to find an answer specific for Bell, but with no success.
Thanks

Bassboy_pete. I just got a Bell 4G GT 10.1 also. Did you ever figure out how to root the GT-P7500M?
Could you let me know i've been looking everywhere for this info and all google brings up are your posts.
i have the same model. rooted. Bell is no different.
Google [root galaxy 10.1] and you should find how. Very easy.
I've followed read this entire thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1171089 and read the 30+ pages somewhere in there someone who had a rogers 4G model said the 3G method worked. I also read somewhere else on XDA that a guy with the Bell GT-P7500M tried the 4G method and made the device a paper weight. I also really want to backup this device before a mess with anything but as far as all my research i am doing CWR is the way to back it up.
yours or anyone help is appreciated. Not looking for a handout on what to do step by step just a push in the right direction. I won this device and want to keep using it but some things piss me off about the Bell version (really must GPS Nav have to stay on the device) also can't just return it to bell if i brick it since i won it and don't have a reciept.
UPDATE, Just did the CWM Recovery. Worked great. Just finished a backup. I'll try the 3G root as mentioned in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312538 then i'll update again.
Not bad for my first Droid Device just got it 3 days ago.
UPDATE: Used the 3G method for GTP97500M (Bell Mobility) works great.
also plunged in thinking I had read enough and not fully understanding all the variants, so ended up following some of the root instructions posted on xda which did not work.
Solution was this thread for Team Overcome
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1275751
which has a stock restore, the correct odin and bootloader files and then both the Overcome Rom and a CWM zip.
All installed nicely, system rooted and custom rom installed.
I am on Rogers with the Tab 10.1 and my Galaxy S is on Bell.
I then flashed the OC kernel from doridbasement which also works fine -- just catch which version you are on
anyways, early days but these did work, others did not for me

its brand new so no root yet. its not a "popular" critter like the original hydro (the edge is a HUGE upgrade btw really nice bit of hardware for a cheap entry level phone) upgrading my pop from the original hydro today.
we will probably get root eventually but it won't be a "complete" root meaning you frack it you brick it IE no "restore"
that is how the original was. we shall see. I am looking forward to it though JB is much nicer than ICS

As much as I hate to say it, Cydia has the solution for rooting this device. Here's the linky-link - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2384297&goto=nextoldest
Not working bro, Poot is a waste of time as well. I too have a Hydro and would love to root it just to remove some of the factory apps. I could care less about a custom rom, some of the **** they have on the phone from factory is crap
I will keep my fingers crossed that some XDA wizard will take up the challenge and help a honky out

Root Success on 3 Hydro XTRM's
After much trial, and frustration aand a couple weeks later, I found a method that works flawlessly for mine and my 2 other family members Hydro XTRM's.
I used this---> Framaroot-1.6.1.** :good::good:
I rooted 3 Hydo XTRM's with it successfully, once open there are two methods, they are the names of people, I cant remember which 2 so forgive me its been 2 weeks ago that i rooted them so the names are not at the forefront of my feeble mind
Any way, if one does not work simply try the other, and if I am correct the first name at the top of the list worked for me all 3 times. It also requires superSU and busybox.
I hope like hell that I have helped other Hydro users because most places play down Hydro devices as not popular and not worth the trouble, so I suffered through a lot of "sorry's" and vague answers.
I was glad to solve this, and even more happy to share it. PeAcE
** The link I had to the download is no longer valid, so you may have to search a bit to find a good download, sorry.
This worked!
Thanks so much! In another thread I was pointed at framaroot 1.4 .1 which did NOT work! Luckily I came across your post installed 1.6 .1 and it worked with the second name only (gandolf).

Hello everyone, im new here and I really got Intrigue in this ROOT thing. I'm suddenly interested in rooting my s4 i9505,which is just 2 months old, thats why I'm doubtful of rooting my phone because maybe it will get brick or i regret rooting it or anything , i just need quick questions to be answered, I already have little knowledge about rooting a phone, but here a my quick questions.
1)can I still like download from play store, when I root my phone?
2)what are it's advantage?
3)do i still get updates from the manufacturer when i root my phone? "ex, Phone updates, google, etc."
3.1)If i don't get any updates anymore,do I need to update my phone manually or by myself?
4)If do I root of my phone now, what are the chances that there will be problems?
Please help me, I would really like opinion on people who already rooted their phone, especially from people who has a Samsung Galaxy s4 i9505, Thank you!

1 yes you can
2 so many do a search
3 no you cant update your phone if it is rooted
3.1 but you can update it by unrooting it temporarily using an app superuser
4 1 rooting will void your warranty
2 do it as clear as per the instructions for rooting else you will soft brick your phone you can unbrick that but take precautions
that's all take a risk friend
Anyone have any luck rooting the zte stormer / n9520? I know the zte warp (n9510) has a root method already, but I was wondering if that would work on the upcoming zte stormer. I know its not out yet but maybe someone has a pre release device?
Here's the info:
N9520, android 4.1.2
Baseband: N9520B01
Kernel 3.4.0-svn10453 [email protected]
SW: N9520V1.0.0B02
HW: cyyB
ZTE is obviously pretty new to the us cellphone market, so it doesn't seem like there's been lots of progress made on rooting their phones yet. Or maybe there's just not many people buying them yet??
Are there any generic rooting methods that are common for ZTE devices? I'm just not finding a lot of results.

I own a few ZTE devices and as far as I'm concerned there are no ZTE specific roots. The older ZTE Blade device was able to be easily rooted using Z4Root apk which basically runs a Gingerbreak exploit. There are other Android OS specific exploits capable of rooting ZTE devices (i.e. Bin4ry for ICS devices) but most of these have been patched by now. ZTE devices definitely do not have as big market as Samsung devices and therefore development for these is less. I would recommend Vroot V1.7.1 one-click root tool that has allowed me to successfully root a variety of JB devices whenever you have the new Stormer in hand.

Root method for zte n9520
Hey guys. So I asked this question a bit back and found an answer...check out this Post. http://www.photo-cool.com/?p=136637 I even emailed the guy and he responded telling me that everything remains the same but the phone is rooted so you can use "Root" apps ie: Titanium etc. The guy will also update the post as soon as he finds a custom rom that might work on it but for now just to root the phone, follow these simple instructions. So this might've solved the issue. I found a cheap case on ebay that came with a screen protector and a car plug for like 5 bucks. Anyway...love the phone
Once again page is :

Yes the guy happens to be me and hes right just follow the directions i posted and you should be fine. I am working on a way to get the custom recovery working so we can then proceed on making custom roms on it i have 2 of these phones so i definitely dont mind building and testing on one of the devices since i purchased it to develope around it. Zte has always been difficult to get around but when theres a will theres a way and i determined to find it.
Most already knew about the root before he posted, but I greatly appreciate you working on recovery and roms. Would you possibly have an eta on those or custom kernel's?
