[XP]Auto Rotation problem when charging - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Guys I have problem in auto rotation, while im charging my phone, the auto rotation is like turn on automaticly although I dont turn it on. Even the launcher is able to landscape.

If you have played some game or opened some app which it has landscape option, than its ok otherwise make sure you have the latest fw.
Sent from my LT22i using Tapatalk 2

So the problem came from the running apps which need landscape rotation?
Sent from my LT22i using Tapatalk 2

lots of apps running in landscape mode have problem release from phone memory.. i have these issues after unpluging headphones followed by calling anyone..
also check your setting on Smart Connect settings just in case...
upgrade your firmware if required if its lastest try using fast reboot apk still not then use memory sweeping applications still not see if a restart can sort out this issue if still noooooooottttt then flash the os again or factory reset...
These issues are temporary and are resolved automatically...

Not only XP, your problem is bug stock rom ICS, I experience with my phone XU

Maybe your phone thinks that you have connected it to dock, try to find some option to change that in smart connect.

Same problem with my Sola ICS, Auto rotation is on for SystemUI, so much annoying

Just to add this device is not rooted or anything. Any idea if rooting and a different room could fix this issue?

Is it happening in all games or just some. If it's just some then it's just poor programming on the developers part

So far it happens in all the games I tried: Tempel run, asphalt6, all versions of angry birds, chees master, 3d pool,
On my sg s2 i never have this problem. Anybody else having the same problem?? And anybody know a setting that can solve it???
Now I tried several games with the "Smart Stay" turnes on, and it is not working 100%, it is very anoying that the screen turn off!!!!!!
Anybody have the same problem???
While I'm really enjoying my S3 so far. Smart Stay is almost a complete fail.. I've made sure it's activated, and is there anything I'm missing? I'm constantly having to reactivate my screen when I'm reading articles etc..
I'm confident this can be fixed either officially or unofficially, but something has to be done.
Anyone else having trouble?

Smart stay should work if the front cam is able to see your face.
You can check this by opening the camera and choose the front cam.
Now make sure your face is near the middle of the screen.
For me I've to move the bottom away from me and the top closer to me so the cam can see me. It takes a bit training to hold the phone like that but it works (for me).
I find totally ridiculous if you have to hold the phone in a certain angel for the screen not to turn off during games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am happy with my S III, but the problem with the screen turning off is fatal.......I hope somehow there will be a fix for this very soon.

If you read my post, you would have noticed, that the problem actually is that the screen is turning off during games without the smart stay turned on. When I turn on smart stay, the screen still turns off sometimes, as the smart stay is not working correct!! (smart stay not working for me in low light, and you need to hold the phone in a certain angel, witch is not possible when you play games and move the phone around)
Other people have this problem........???????????????
Turn off time-out completely?

Then you will need to go to settings before and afther you play a game. . . Thats not a solution -- at least not for me.
Anybody can play games without the screen turns off??

XS home screen landscape

Just noticed when i plug my phone in to charge you can have the home screen in landscape has any1 else got this?
Does this mean we might get a official dock?
I noticed this shortly after flashing to an ICS rom. It would be better if we could do this without anything connected to our phones.

Does Turning Auto-Rotation off save battery?

I have been reading in many threads in the Xperia Sola/P/U sub forum that one should turn off auto rotation to save battery if that feature is not being used.
I used to do that. Until yesterday evening while playing Temple Run, when a doubt came to my mind.
Since auto rotation is turned off. But the guy in the TR2 picks up movement from tilting the phone also. Which means the gyroscope (on whatever device that is used to measure angular movements) must be running even after auto rotation is turned off..
So if gyroscope is still on, is there any actual battery saving?

Does gyroscope still run in background?

Yes is for Turing it off disable sensors and it saves battery
Sent from my Xperia U using Tapatalk 2
By turing off auto rotation means
Screen will not rotate while in normal apps, gallery, brpwser etc
It doest mean it will completely turn ur senor off...
Games require gyroscope so it will run while playing
Sent from my Xperia U using xda premium
That will turn off sensor for screen rotation but not for games.
But if you arent playing game and you have autorot turned off you are saving battery
Ps sorry for my bad english

If Auto Rotation off disables sensors, how are games still able to sense movement.
If auto rotation off does not disable sensor, how is battery being saved?

It does disable the sensor, but when you install some apps (games in paticular that use the gyroscope and stuff) they have the permission to turn it on, but outside of that app it will be off. Very simple actually

Turning off autorotate will not save your battery.
Also factor in the negligible savings from cpu not polling sensors, or processing animation for rotation.
It will NOT save your battery at all...

See my previous post. However small, a saving is a saving.

Have you tried to disable motion? Even if the screen rotation is off on some android versions you still get screen turned, such as camera and videos.
