Ok so now that I've played with JB, I wanted to try out xperia ultimate hd for instance.
Problem is, I already had a lot upgrading from stock ICS to JB FXP.
So now the question: What are the steps to be sure there 's no problem at all while I change from
Flykernel+FXP
to
Xperia ultimate hd.
I unzipped the source, but can't find any ICS kernel to flash with flashtool. And I think I can not just reboot in recovery and flash the new rom, am I wrong ?
Searched for a clue on xda, sorry if I missed a post with the answer in it.
You should flash an ics kernel like rage kernel and flash the xperia ultimate HD rom in recovery. Don't forget about the wipes, it should work
What are the issues you are afraid of?

flykernel for ics has recovery just use it. You will want to flash the kernel first and then use the CWM from flykernel ics to flash the rom. Since there was no kernel inside the ROM this probably means it uses the stock kernel.
Ok thanks ! reasons why I want to change is :
-> Google Search is leeching my battery, I tried everything from disabling location or history, still draining do not know why...
-> No OTA on FXP, you guys know if there is any chances there would be on CM10 unoff ? CM10 supposed to bring OTA, do not know if FXP will.
->Still my battery is fine with smartassV2 / Sio, but I miss the auto brightness and I wanted a more stable / Battery friendly rom. Is ultimate HD the right choice ?

Please help me, i tried to update my friend's phone to ICS KA16 and the wifi stops working. I'm using Night Elf v1 kernel.
anyone experienced this or it's just me? I will try to re-flash the kernel and rom.

I tried to re-flash the kernel, rom, patch. Wipe everything but no luck.
I also notice that the touchscreen is not so responsive. It takes 4-6 tries to unlock the phone.
I have issues lite those after returning to stock kernel from night elf.
Night elf has its own modules, automatically flashed with kernel. If you flash stock kernel you will need to flash stock modules. But I was not able to find them, nor extract them from ftf file.
Why post a new thread? ask it where you get the rom from

Because I don't have permission to post in development section lately.

I think the problem is the rom itself. 3 of us using this rom experience this problem.

Of course yes, just to increase my post count and to warn other people who's planning to update their rom.
Try to flash the ICS version, after that everything is restored (guide).
After that I went to this kernel (unlock bootloader first) [KERNEL] [UPDATE] Stock ICS (4.1.A.0.562) with init.d support + root + cwm
since it gives you all the wanted features, CWM built in. Will work with stock ICS.
And his rom is very nice too: [ROM][Neo V][ICS] Spacious, smooth and light ICS. You need V2, the other is for NightElf kernel.

MiniCM7Pro will only run on the stock kernel, there was no need to unlock your bootloader, and most certainly not to install a custom kernel. Get back to stock kernel (I think there's a link provided for a kernel you can flash with flashtool) and then run MiniCM7Pro.

No, the order doesn't really matter, but your phone will only work if you pair the right kernel and the right rom together. The ROM post will state which kernel it will run on.
so for:
MiniCM7Pro - Stock Kernel
MiniCM7 - nAa-13 Gingerbread kernel
ArcMiniNxt - Just about every kernel
MiniCM9 - nAa-04 ICS kernel

Just about all roms that state they're based on CyanogenMod (CM) include App2SD by default, all you have to do it activate it in settings.
ArcMiniNxt is a Gingerbread ROM with a sony ericsson framework, so it will look and work a bit like the original firmware, but based on Gingerbread, and it will run on the stock kernel. It seems smooth and easy on battery-life.
MiniCM7 is sort of the 'default' ROM to go for if you want Android look-and-feel, it is further developed than MiniCM7Pro, but you will need the nAa-gingerbread kernel for it. It is also very smooth and fast.
Mind you, nothing is perfect, you can expect some problems with your keyboard layout and keyboard lights on all Gingerbread ROMS, but there are fixes for that if you care to search through the x10minipro development forum

i just installed MiniCM7Pro, rebooted the phone and its now stuck on that android motion logo :S is this normal?
edit: NVM it is normal ahha.. xD i now have it perfectly installed im in love with its interface. i now have to get use to it.
As the title suggests, I recently tried all ICS kernels that I know and none of them booted to even the recovery screen before I got a WLOD. I really want to be on ICS so can someone please help?
I have tried all available ICS in this forum, but none of them seem to work properly or im flashing something wrong... So stick to GB for now and when you get a very stable kernel and ROM... flash that... as fas as i know Championswimmers AKOP port is almost done expect some data issues (thats what i red when i saw it last)... But if you decide to flash ICS, just amke sure you are using proper "Kernel"....
Happened the same to me with kcernel. What I did was flash a stock room with flashtool and then flash fxp-127 kernel, and that worked for me to instal remyICS.

Guys I'm fairly new to all the flashing and stuff but have come a long way with my several xperiments :victory:. I've a Xperia Neo L and with the stock ROM (locked BL) I had made a Nandroid backup. Today I unlocked my Bootloader and installed MIUI 2.11.30 from MIUI Australia.
1) I'm just curious will my previous backup can be used to restore my old stock ROM considering the BL status is changed now?
2) Stock ROM is backed up with CWM Recovery ver 5.5 and I'm currently running CWM Recovery ver 6.0.1.2. Will this have any impact?
Please forgive me for the noobish questions...
BL unlock status shouldn't make a difference. Different CWM version can give problems afaik, but chances are it works fine because of backward compatibility in restoring.

Thanx mate! Will try restoring.
more important part is to use ICS kernel with ICS ROM, and GB kernel with GB ROM, same goes for backup's.

Hmmm Now I'm running a MIUI ROM based on 4.04 and I'm curious to try Turbo UI r4 based on JB 4.1. For that i need to first flash a JB kernel. Will my nandroid backups still be working as I'm changing kernels?
One more time..
GB kernel GB ROM
ICS kernel ICS ROM
JB kernel JB ROM
Any other combination MAY work, but they are looking for trouble.
Right Thankyou!

Hi All,
I need a quick help.
currently i have a kernel 3.4.X for KitKat ROM LWW (coconut) downloaded from this site http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2755249 kernel is good with good RAM & Battery performance, but it has some bugs like Wi-fi, videos can't play, can't take video recording etc..
Now i have downloaded another kernel and wanted to test it. So, do i just need to flash the New kernel on top of the present kernel one. or
should i need to go back to the stock build version WT19i_4.1.B.0.587 and then i need to flash the New kernel or what ?
Thanks in Advance,
First of all you need to tell us which kernel you r flashing on this phone.you need to find out is it comp atible to the rom you use.if yes you can use it without problems

If the new kernel is compatible with your current rom, just flash it and it'll work. There's no need to flash the stock rom and you won't lose any data
