The HOX+ has a definitive problem with the Bluetooth output on phone calls. The output gain is way too high. It causes all incoming audio to be distorted and over modulated. I don't believe it is a hardware issue, but a software issue. Is there any way to go into the software and fix that by changing some value? It would seem doable.
Please, somebody fix this. Who knows when HTC will fix it, and it makes my phone useless in my car. BTW, I have tried other HOX+ phones, and they all do it. It's not my car either...
I agree! I would be donate for that if someone have ability to solve this!

If it is a gain issue...
I'm probably sure the gain is set in fw....and is set by a combination of logic states on a IC. Who knows, maybe there is a Bluetooth function or sub function that sets this.
It would be interesting to look into it but I don't even know where to start. I have the android dev software on my laptop....haha that's as much as I know.
I'd really like to bake my own roms.

This is what I thought ATT and Telus RUU/roms have both the BT Call sound crap :cyclops:
That is good to know I was just about to pick it apart an waste a bunch of time doing so

Just got the confirmation from another user who has flashed the Telus RUU to check. So conclusion is that the crapy BT sound is there to both ATT and Telus RUU

I have tmo rooted stock rom 1.43 and have the worst range from Bluetooth...i see I'm not the only one, because there are many reports on tmo site...my questions are who here has this problem, what have you done to fix it, and does the custom roms have this problem?

There are quite a few threads on this site about it.
Mine is stock and I get up to about 20' and seems to start losing signal. I am fine with that though. Phone is always close by me anyway.....

Excuse me? Not all amazes are from T-Mobile. There's amazes for Wind and Telus too.
I recently find out that anyone who answer my phonecall complains about my sound is weak and it is hard for them to hear exactly what I said. So does my cellphone has a hardware issue or just software problem? Or I can fix it through changing defult setting. Please help me.
Thanks

I would say it's a hardware issue with the microphone. You can always do a factory reset, or flash a new rom if you are rooted, it it helps then it was a software issue.
Ok, I've searched and havent found someone with an issue exactly like mine (theirs drops but reconnects, mine doesn't reconnect). You'll understand that later.
I am NOT rooted, and under WiFi the persistant WiFi while sleeping IS enabled. So if I leave my X+ sleeping for a half hour or more, the WiFi seems to go to sleep. But the icon is still visible with my strength. I go and try to use the WiFi, and it tries and tries until the app I am trying to use throws a timeout error. If I toggle WiFi off and back on, everything's fine. Is there a fix for this? Like I said, I am NOT rooted and am on software version 1.15.502.9. Any help is appreciated

Is this happening in one location or multiple. If it's only one location it could the location that's the problem. I had a similar issue on my old router. When I replaced the router, I had no more problems.
It happens throughout my house, not just my room :/

By multiple locations, I meant different wifi networks. Go somewhere else that has wifi (local library, coffee shop) and see if the problem still exists. If not, then it's definitely your home network.
Hahahaha!!
I had the same problem until I switched my modem from auto 802.1b/g/n to 802.1g ONLY.
Since then, it never dropped. I was having this issue on my S3 and iPhone 5 too so it's not only an HTC issue

haha sorry i currently own two phones (just bought the HOX+ last week) and use whichever is closest to me
so i am planning on rooting and flashing a good rom either tonight or tomorrow, do you think that would solve it? i don't see others with the same issue, so maybe its hardware...? :/
Many people who owned the original one xl on AT&T experienced delayed notifications on wifi, even when wifi was set to always on. Does Ye one x+ have the same bug?

Yes if you do not like it either suck eggs or fix it yourself.

What part of my statement implied I had a fix? There is none

Yes it does have delayed notifications, seems to be an AT&T issue not a device specific problem. There's already a thread about this issue here.
Lucky I believe the sync notification issue is separate from the text issue as I've never had any problems with text messages.
For me it seems like everything syncs as it should when only using the ATT data network, but not when using WiFi.

Won't there be radio compatibility issues? The international versions don't have 1700 MHz/AWS support, right?

Cons are just the annoying bloatware
Great phone,highly recommend

On pretty much all smartphones wifi calling here in Asia works great. Blocked in the US now like in communist countries??
Coming from a Nexus 4 user, so not biased in anyway:
Pros-
By far the best phone out right now (far above the GS4)
No lag whatsoever
Supports all frequency bands (2G,3G,4G, LTE on all GSM carriers)
Solid feel
Amazing screen
Sense is beautiful (opinion)
Wi-Fi Calling ( I get bad service in my house so I miss this feature)
Cons-
Although the materials are good, build quality on some devices has been sub par
Not subsidized on T-mobile, makes me very nervous to attempt to purchase or trade for one due to the fact that it was most likely purchased on EIP.
