Under volt cores to 700-900mhz. Its enough for regular use. Keep brightness levels to 50%. Close all apps. Check and see if Deep sleep works. If not check to see what app is preventing you from getting deep sleep, or ask the kernel Dev if you have a custom kernel. Can you provide us with more information?

Well, my brightness is 0% and I always close my apps, even clearing the ram.
I will try the deep sleep app.
About my custom rom: Disaster Rom included with philz kernel.
I read about a kernel named Hardcore kernel which saves a lote of battery..
Do you know if i can apply it on my phone?
Thanks for the help.

jb leak's got a battery problem?
i don't have a battery problem....some people experience a media scanner issue, which is fixed here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2012452
the only thing that has drained my battery was wifi, when i was in ICS.
Now with JB leak i went up to 1d 10 hs a couple of days ago.
and philsz kernell would extend it, yes.

I think i will change my kernel from philzn to jeboo kernel, my phone was 100%
After visiting xda site for 5mn now 94%
Best solution for battery drain is switch phone off and put in one corner, don't touch at all. What are you want from 4.3 inch display, dual core phone with leaked custom rom? This is not Nokia 3310 to forget when you last time charged. Around xda is lot of guides and threads about this. Just search

Nothing is best here. Just keep experience yourself with different rom, kernel and tweaks to find the best battery performance for your phone.

These things depend on how you use your phone, but system and idle seem high on your list. Screen and talking are my top two. Batteries have so many variables. I would try different ROMs and kernels.

Alternative is to read the kernel posts in development section .

I think stock kernal is probably your best bet for battery life...
Hi everyone!
1st post on xda, but I'm new in android world!
Anyway, I'm using Omega ROM v27.2 (JB)/stock kernel and I experienced some battery drain issues. After getting BBS, I didn't able to point out what was the cause.
After many readings, I found a possible solution: in advanced WiFi settings, they advised to disable "Keep WiFi on during sleep". By default it's set on "always". They advise to set it to "never" but I prefer set it to "only when plugged in". I think it's more logical!
I don't know yet if it's efficient but I'm trying this and I'll come back later to tell you.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
you could use phenomenal kernel for better battery life. it is better than stock kernel in terms of battery life but you need to check compatibility with the custom rom you choose
Foxhound Essential .2 with latest siyah kernel
Best Battery life I ever tried - I've used Foxhound, Criskelo, and Omega JB roms but the Foxhound Essential is the fastest, ram free (430mb), best battery life performance around (8hours extensive use with mobile date turned on). Try it its great! Thanks

Try latest siyah kernel - plus Foxhound Essential ver .2 - No bloatware and best battery life performance..
I flashed Phenomenal Extreme kernel yesterday but to test it properly I have to wait for Monday when I'll be at work.
I'm not a fanatic of battery life, I just want to find the right mix between performance & battery life. For now, I found the phenom extreme not enough smooth, I'll probably change it for the medium one in few days.

My best results with battery life has been with Phenomenal Extreme and VikingROM. I got about 6 hours screentime with wifi, sync, and lots of gaming. Though i think you can make almost any rom or kernel last about 5-6 hours screentime if you check your running processes and apps running in the backround.
I hv tried lots of roms
Psycho rom XXDLJ1 v 0.0.1 is one of the best
it gives u maximum performance and an amazing battary life
Though you can flash different ROMS and kernels to experiment with battery performance, most reputable ROMS like AOKP or CM10 Wong yield much difference. Too many other variables. I've heard Trinity kernel is a good one, but I just got an extended battery. I found it to be the most sure way of extending battery life.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
I've tried omega Rom and phenomenal kernel but these didn't really give me any more battery.
I found the stock kernel and Rom gave me the best battery performance at around 10 hours with WiFi on and surfing internet and maybe a quick go of a game or two.

Hey guys i have an S2 that i bought second hand and with the box that is IMEI matched box it has 2 manuals(swedish & Norwegain) so i suspect its the nordic s2. I've tried *#1234# and i just get an error on that so i cant tell its CSC version. The other thing is im running on cm10 4.1.1 jelly bean with siyah 4.1.5 kernel. I want to go back to the original ICS 4.0.4. Now i'm located in the pakistani region n i've seen that i should have firmware that have JP codes. I'm confused since my s2 maybe from nordic region should i flash that firmware or since im located in pakistan should i flash the JP version.?? please help guys it will be greatly appreciated.
The main reason i wanna go back is becoz of battery issues, i've tried everything possible, lowest brightness, extweaks, unvolting , wake locks n several modem changes.. i'm running on XXLPS modem which i find is the best for me out of others.. i cant seem to find the JP code modem that is recommended for my region .. So im hoping the samsung original ICS 4.0.4 will give me a better battery life. Right now i barely get 2 hours of screen time. and i start texting for like 15 mins the battery falls like crazy.. I've calibrated the battery and everything possible, i have around 4200 mV when my battery is fully charged.. Could it be an issue with my battery? how can i test to see if my battery is working normal? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.. thanks guys..
Please can you also give me suggestions as to which rom would be the best for battery life?

first the samsung code *#1234# will not work on Custom roms like CM10, u can dwnld the stock ICS 4.0.3(4.0.4 is not recommended as its not stable compared to v4.0.3 and has this dreaded 'eMMc brickbug' in it) from www.sammobile.com pertained to ur region and use 'Odin' on ur PC to flash the same to ur phone
Imo Latest SlimBean+Dorimanx kernel (with tweaked 'battery profile) is very good.

At last i used it About > 18 hours with screen on time ~ 4 hours with ordinary mid use.
Ofcoz u or anyone could gain it much more if u optimize the extweaks deeper & safest (without freeze & sod)
But atm I've been using latest cm10+dorimanx 7.1 since those were updated mali driver & daily new features & bugfix..

Mali was a codename for our gpu which is integrated by exynos 4210 SoC.
Since it's not full open sourced by Samsung, CM Team had a creative to pull a new mali driver from i9305 leak to make it updated a fix worked in cm10 which provides better graphics performance & some stability.
Follow @samsungexynos & boom their any tweets by "please release 4210 full docs now..!" etc.. they've been in big pressure now by s2 communities..

Ok, I says bad. I understand this, but I really want say in standby mode.
I does the LPY update yesterday, it looks like draining more the battery.
If you want good battery life, enable system power saving. My phone went from 100% to 99% in three hours.
I would say go for Custom ROM+kernel for better battery life...many options to tweak with battery life....
Try Siyah 4.1.5, and underclock. See if that helps

I agree with custom kernel but in my experience stock ROM provides best battery. It's all very subjective though and this question can't really be answered as you use your phone differently to me.
Just try a few ROM and kernel combos and see for yourself
I get 7hours or more screen time and awesome performance too.

Hi I am 15 years old and i have a samsung galaxy s2 GT-I9100 with stock ics 4.0.3 (exactly I9100XXLPS). It have some issues with (not opening some times) wifi and several battery drain when im playing games ( need for speed, asphalt, etc). I want to play games and surfing but my phone does not keep its battery until night. So I want a rom and a kernel which have no much battery drain, fix wifi issue and if its possible to extend the wifi signal...
Sorry for my poor english.

Hi, i'm also 15 yr old, btw i'm from Serbia(if u know where is it...), if u using cf kernel it has a wifi bug so i suggest u to install siyah or dorimanx kernel... And, i think themes like this(whats best rom, which to use, ...) are forbidden, sorry btw try SuperNexus rom, for me that's best rom for begginers, wish u a luck !
I have to say that ROMs are all about personal preference. Imo you should test out various ROMS to see what's best for you...
That being said, I'm currently using Cm7 on my I777 and it has great battery life (although I suspect it has something to do with turning the second core off and using Siyah GB.)
For Jellybean my preferred ROM is Super Nexus... I got pretty good battery on that one too!

How many battery cycles did you let the battery settle for? You should give your battery at least 3 cycles before you judge the life of the battery after you flash something. You can also try CPU spy from the play store to see if your device is deep sleeping. Also try better battery stats to see if you have any wakelocks.

In my experience 4.1.2 as mg4 was the most stable and fast stock version. After that including 4.1.2 and 4.3 stocks all were laggy and had less battery performance. However, I couldn't find any aosp based custom rom work flawless or at least stable. Each one has its own bugs. Slimkat doesn't support exfat, liquidsmooth was very very laggy and cm has some fc issues etc. As a consequence at least stock one is the stable one.

I was on 4.1.2 since i bought my s3, i decided to try 4.3 and i switched to Android Revolution HD 51 in combination with Boeffla kernel, and i must say performance is way much better and also the battery life, with 4.1 i got somewhere around 4h of screen on time, and with 4.3 i get close to 5h of screen on time, also to mention over the night battery drops only 1% if wifi on and 0% with airplane mode on, preety impressive, you just have to find your way to customize it for daily use

Sadly I couldn't find a kernel that helped me in my battery life. Brightness is always on 0... And I don't have that many apps.. I seriously don't know what's going on

Do u have alot of wakelocks? Dun set brightness to auto. They tend to make the brightness more than wat u nid. Manually control the brightness.

No my wake locks seem normal though there was a suspicious one, I don't remember it's name exactly, but I'll tell when I find it out, only thing I know that it's audio related but I don't think that's it... Other than that battery just melts leaving me with 1-2 hours screen time (on stock 4.1.2) I'll try flash a different rom and I'll tell you what changed
