Printing VIA Note - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

I've heard of this, even went into office Max to see about figuring it out. Has anyone got any experience with this?

I have printer share from the play store, and it works with a lot if printers. Also, I use an Epson app for my wp-4530 at the office.

You can set up Google cloud printing. Its in Google chrome. You just set up the printer you have (in chrome settings) and it works pretty well. Think you just need Google chrome browser on your phone and pc (that has connection to the printer) and Google's Cloud Print app on your phone.
The Cloud Print app actually gives instructions how to set it up.

I have a laserjet and a Togo usb cable, and use printer share.

Thanks for all the answers..
Apparently ics has a built in wifi printing system that establishes a link with any wifi enabled printer. Works pretty well actually.

I've been using Android-VNC-Viewer since I bought my Atrix. It's worked great so far. Best of all, it's free! You can find it in the market.
I'm using Ultra VNC on my server.
Let me know if you have any questions. It may be a bit difficult to set up at first. Good luck!

Sounds like port 5900 is closed. Google "port forward", click on the first link, and follow the instructions for your specific router.
You can verify whether or not a port is open at CanYouSeeMe dot org.
Let me know how it goes.

I 2nd teamviewer. Its free for home use, and it's soooooooooooo easy to set up.

I used Splashtop on my old phone. Insanely quick - you could even watch videos and listen to music. Hell, I managed to do some basic stuff in photoshop!
I'm a fan of VNC, but it's not the most secure thing around.
I would set up a VPN connection to home or an SSH tunnel to use it. That will add to it's security. If you go with the port forward route, make sure you shut the forwards off, or close VNC when you don't need it. (Read, VNC alone isn't very secure)
If your not a network geek, then I highly recommend Teamviewer.
It just works, thru whatever firewall setup you sit behind. With zero configuration. You can also add ACL's to allow connections from only certain IP's/Clients to lock your install down a little better.
Been using team viewer for years now. I its the best on market. And free as well.

i use unified remote. simple, and works great
Splashtop remote is a godsend in terms of quickly showing you what's going on on your computer. It essentially makes your phone a remote display capable of not only controlling the computer, but also watching videos, and even playing games. The coolest thing for me is the ability to stream the audio from your computer to your phone. Hope this helps
This does use quite a lot of data so I suggest running it on wifi. There's a free demo as well that you can try.

Well, you can print almost anything with an app called 'printershare'. It is a little costly, but worth it to me. This app actually is integrated with your device, so printing wouldnt be done through documents to go; but rather through a file explorer or the printershare app. There are also some free alternatives and some require printers that support google print? For instance, hp's technology. Can't remember what its called? Anyways, I recommend printershare!

That's an excellent app, but it requires your computer to be running if you wanna print. It uses the google cloud printing service, which is awesome! Though, for a pc-free printer; it needs to support hp's e-print, or something? The printer would have to support google cloud printing.

Well basically what I'm trying to do is print excel files that are in my dropbox.I have a canon printer and an app that I got from the market but it only picks up things from the gallery.Dunno if I could import the xl files into there and see if they're picked up

[Q] Free printing app?

Has anyone found a free printing app compatible with the Nook Tablet? I tried Google Cloud Print but you need your computer on for it to work...which, to me, defeats the purpose of having the app since the NT is Wi-Fi only. I couldn't get GCP to work anyway.
Only other thing I found was PrinterShare Mobile Print, but you have to buy pages, etc.

That...that just doesn't help at all.
I've got an HP printer and the HP ePrint app worked fine with my rooted Nook Color. I've installed it on the Tablet and it will see my networked HP printer, but it won't print to it. If you have an HP printer, you might take a look at that and see if you can get it to work.
I probably should have noted I have an HP Deskjet 3050 wireless...not ePrint compatible, already tried that. =/

I'm very pleased with Cloud Print, but I use ProWOL app to wake my PC if it is sleeping prior to printing. I have a HP photosmart 7200. Wake On Lan can be tricky to set up, and but once the router is configured properly, it works great.
You need to enable adhoc on your Nook Tablet. There is a mod available here on xda. I used it on mine and was then able to see my hp printer.

It gave me total control of my PC.... Showed my screen almost like remote desktop. Freaked the kids out when I took control of the mouse from anywhere. lol
Edit: Just noticed you wanted to stream some TV shows. Don't know if that would be clunky or not.

Not sure if it would depend on the connection speed or more the capabilities of the app itself. I shall give it a try tonight. Much appreciated mate and looking forward to freaking out the wife haha

The only problem is using Teamviewer you would need to set a prefixed password and username on it as it generates random per session so would be best. Also it needs to be on, closing teamviewer on your PC means you cut off the communication. Also it doesn't require a high end internet as teamviewer by default drops the quality and turns off wallpaper's and such per connection to enhance speed to navigate vs graphics.

That's fine my PC is on 24/7 anyway so that wouldn't be a problem.. if it sacrifices graphics for speed do you think maybe its not gonna be suitable for what I need it for?

Think you can set a password to use all the time in options, but it's been awhile since using. So could be wrong, but never remember having a random password. But yes I do remember having to have the PC on, but believe I could still wake it.
Again, I've not used my nook color for some time with this. So give an old man a break if I'm wrong.

Server runs on Linux, Mac or PC. I have a Linux server running so I can't tell you how good the Windows port is.
I have never used it for an outward facing connection though it is designed to work that way. I have it running on my old Dinc, Kindle Fire and the G-Tab. Video streaming works very well.

In my opinon it is all about the bandwidth. Some (HD) Movies need up to several megabit per second...
A solution is to use a VPN connection to the home network and a UPnP-AV server/client.
I use Twonky and BubbleUPnP, but only in my LAN. With a VPN and sufficient bandwith on the connection this would do the job over the internet, too.

With a little planning you could upload the video files that you want to be able to access to Dropbox, Minus or whatever Google offers that is similar. Then all you would have to do is access the files from your tab. If you have enough bandwidth for video, it should work great.
Check it out and let us know if my idea works for your needs.

I have had cerberus installed on my PC for a long time, it allows you to use your PC as an FTP server.
This way you can have access to your chosen files anywhere with the internet. On your mobile most file explorers have a FTP option to move files to or from the PC.
Its handy to have access to all your music, or maybe use it the other way to backup your photos ect when away from home for a extended period.
you could also stream over FTP if your file explorer allows you to map the FTP server as a local drive
