ive used gsm in ecuador before but never on a custom rom (im on CNA) anyone know how to get gsm working on CNA? I read it was in the options chooser, downloaded and flashed went through it multiple times, nothin. cant find anything. maybe my download didnt download correctly and it is in options chooser v4? ionno am i missing somethin here?
I would see about editing, apns-conf. Xml
Located in /system/etc/
Or get a program from market to edit it?

The file is easy to edit... I would suggest either contacting the provider for apn information....
Or chances are good you could find all the apn information you need from the Howard forums..

thanks for your reply, ill try doing that though i dont think thats my problem, im on the custom rom CNA and i think its only set for CDMA at the moment, there use to be GSM flash zips or GSM versions of CNA but ionno what happened havnt been keepin tabs on it..

that is not the ROM... its the kernels..
I have had the same problem with the link. That rom looks sweet, I hope the link gets fixed or a workaround is created soon
Well, I figured it out. There is a code beneath some advertisement that you type in, which then generates a direct download link. Just scroll down after clicking the current link on the post and you'll see a box that you just type some image verification code it gives you. Then voila. Hope this helps!

i downloaded this but clockwork wont see it i download to my computer put it on both sd cards and clockwork cant find it but when it finished downloading it didnt look like other roms i downloaded it looked like a white file not like the books from winrar any ideas?
yeah, I've noticed it seems to be a white zip file? so right now i am trying to extract the contents into a zip folder and mess around with stuff like that. As soon as I find out what's going wrong here and I fix it, I'll let you guys know!

TWC just released the app that will allow you to stream the live TV shows from your phone. I got really excited to watch Game of Thrones.
But when I try to launch the app. It says it does not run on rooted device. WTF?
What is the difference between rooted or unrooted device when it comes to TWC app?
I tried to unroot with root keeper to run the app with no luck.
Any suggestions or workaround to get it working?

I can confirm this on Epic 4g touch (rooted)
Same issue here. Rooted Hp touchpad running 4.0.4. When you launch TWC app and choose Live TV it will state "TWC tv is not supported on rooted devices"

confirmed here on Verizon Galaxy Nexus. Hope someone fixes this. You also have to have USB Debugging disabled, AND be on your home network (which means Road runner is also a requirement).

Turns out the TWC app only checks for the presence of /system/app/superuser.apk. A quick rename of superuser.apk and it works fine. A simple script can be written for this to toggle it.

i haven't actually been able to test watching TV since im at work but when i renamed Superuser.apk i stopped getting the "TWC tv is not supported on rooted devices" message. ill try when i get home in a bit and reports back.

Ah ok, cool.
If you use the app 'GScript' which is in the market, you can write a script and add a widget to your homescreen to execute the rename and to reverse it. Makes it real easy to go ba ck and forth.

just found this post as well, was looking for this over on the nexus forums.. I have the decompiled apk if someone can tell me what to nix I can recompile and give it a try for us.. Here is the decompiled apk. u will see in the smali files it talks about if root and if adb is enabled.. Thank you everyone for clarification. Some Driod-life members reported that clearing cache helps too. I have not tried it myself yet but it is worth a shot.

I wonder if they've patched this already. I just tried, and it didn't work. Rebooted. Confirmed renamed APK. Cleared data in manage-apps. Still no go.
The only ICS devices I have are third-party (and rooted) ROMs.
Is there a problem if I have the superuser.apk file name?
renamed com.TWCableTV-1/smali/com/TWCableTV/androidphone/a/a.smali: const-string v1, "/system/app/Superuser.apk" to ****TimeWarner.apk and then renamed C:\Android\apktool\com.TWCableTV-1\smali\com\TWCableTV\androidphone\Login\Activities\SplashScreenActivity.smali an TWCHomeActivity.smali had root set to true so change the true to false and no luck.. I am shooting blind here so any help would be great

I'm gonna assume it needs ICS on a compatible device... just an assumption..
Mine continue's to work changing the name of the superuser.apk
Really quick question. After the changing superuser.apk name did it effect any rooted functionalities?
And please update me with the solid work around so I can post it in OP.

I tried using the htc ime apk that I've seen on some threads about sense 5. I changed the permissions to r w r r like it said to and moved it into system/apps and then rebooted. When I go into language and input and click on htc sense input it says "htc sense input has stopped" and it won't work. How can I get the sense 5 keyboard on my phone? I have the cm 10.1 rom.
You could try the sense 5 for cm10.1 in the play store, it themes everything including the keyboard

As the great and wonderful nosey company they are T-Mobile added their version of carrier IQ our phone. Having paid $600 dollars for my phone I feel I should get to choose what is and isn't on my device. All that being said T-Mobile seems to have been pretty sneaky at hiding carrier IQ deep in the settings and it doesn't really show up in most task managers. Even in titanium back-up I couldn't freeze it.
So you want it gone, well here it is.
You need a file explorer such as Root Explorer and then there are 6 files to remove.
Go to system/app and there are 3 files with carrier IQ listed delete all 3. ( Sorry I already deleted them so I don't have the exact name)
Delete IQ-tmobile-release-signed.apk
Delete IQToggle.signed.apk
( Sorry I already deleted them so I don't have the exact name of the 3rd if someone posts I'll update it)
Then go Data/Data and remove the 3 carrier IQ files.
Delete com.carrieriq.tmobile
Delete com.carrieriq.tmobile.IQToggle
I removed these with no issues, but as always do this at your own risk, I am not responsible for your phone.
Or you can simply just flash a stock d802 rom and not worry about it being wrapped up deeper into the framework. They did that by design.

Always do a backup before flashing anything! These steps are the only way I have been able to install, as for some reason I cannot install to a rom slot in safe strap.
This has been tested by me, and only me, and it works flawlessly.

Make a backup of current rom.
Copy Incursor zip to your sdcard
Enter Safe Strap recovery, and make sure you are on the STOCK rom slot
Factory Reset under wipe options
Advanced wipe system, cache, and dalvik

Fixes
SecSettings font force close fix. Extract the zip, there are 4 .ttf files.
