Hi all...Ive had my s2 since release date...and rooted not long after that. My problem is (and im not sure when it started) when i take pictures, even when viewing the screen before hitting shoot, the image is hazy and soft...almost as if the brightness was too high and the contrast too low. I wasnt aware of how severe the issue was until i tested my phone along side my sons s2 and his was much more crisper. I know i should really upload examples and if needed can do so tomorrow but in the meantime has anyone else got this problem.
The phone hasnt been dropped, all settings are the same as my sons phone and i even flashed the official ics rom incase it was custom rom related.
Any ideas guys...
Ehm if u already flashed the stock it really strange...
First idea I had was to check if no filter is active on cam.
Second, u can do a factory reset now on stock (save all data and things u need)
Third: If this wont help it really seems to be a hardware problem. Anyway a picture later on would be nice/helpful.

Hi
I recently bought Amaze. Pretty awesome! I was all happy and clicking lots of pictures and stuff after which I decided to root because of the battery problem. Never mind that all good. But yesterday I randomly opened up the G-Sensor settings in display and I noticed some lag in the movements of those bubbles, I was confused and I knew this isn't how those bubbles move. I downloaded AndroSensor to check if everythings alright. But it wasn't I think there is some problem with my Accelerometer and Gyroscope :l those number besides the Accelerometer and Gyroscope keep on changing even if the phone is kept on the ground without any motion. If someone has experienced this or has a solution to it please help. I really don't want to ruin my experience with this phone.

I would just say get it exchanged man. I haven't had any issues along those lines and rooting shouldn't have any effect on those sensors =/
I also got probably a similar problem with the accelerometer. The phone began rotating the pictures as well as application windows absolutely wrong, unexpectedly and may say randomly.. and it isn't rooted yet..
P.S. I decided to go for the factory reset..
Now re-installing and re-setting all my operational environment
Anyhow the G sensor seems to resume its duly performance.. ))

Try and get AndroSenser from Market and let me know if the accelerometer values keep on changing even if the phone is kept on a surface with no movements.

Try removing the battery and let sit for about a half hour. I had the same issue and this worked for me. Good luck.

didnt work for me what should i do ? my other sensors are also not working
Got the same issue, at this point it doesn't work at all yet if I flash a rom with out a full wipe it'll work again until I restart. That being the case it feels like a driver issue to me... I'm not sure if anyone has a tool that will allow me to flash the proper drivers?

Call HTC as far as i know the phone hasnt even been out a year yet which means they should all still be under warranty. Htc sent me a new back, a battery and charger for things i made up so i could have back ups should anything go wrong. All sent for free and they dont even ask for the bad parts back. Their customer service is great. Unless you like messing with stuffvif a factory reset dosent fix it. Get a new one. & to the guy with the? About the accelerometer numbers they always dance around a little even when set down flat. As long as the phone rotates correctly and maybe get a game that uses it and az long as everything functions your good dont freak out because the numbers dont hold completely still.
Hi,
How do I 100% revert to stock ??
I can flash a stock rom via Odin and lock the bootloader. if I do those 2 things .. is my tablet 100% stock again??
I'm having some problems which I believe are not really custom rom related.. So I wanna check by putting it 100% back to stock first.. and if those problems still exist RMA the poor thing..

Hello,
I had my tab sent out for repair (screen came loose), and got it back with bootloader unlocked....
But yes you can flash stock and send it in for repair.
Whats the problem if i may ask

The screen is all messed up .. when I turn the device on .. colors are a bit fuzzy.
But after a few minutes .. lines starts to go through my screen and later on there is nothing I can see except running lines and dots running to the screen in different collors..
Strange thing is .. it also does this on the splash screen, battery charging screen, clockwork and even the bootloader screen :S...
Like my tegra2 chip is fried :S ...
I remember seeing something like this back on my 8800m geforce card .. Turned out then, that the gpu chip's soldering was just bad and it needed to reflow.. Back then it was an issue with the type of soldering nvidia used, the whole serie suffered from it..
But first off all.. I guess Nvidia learnt from that.. Second of all .. I haven't really come across others with this problem on the p7100 :S ..
Strange thing is ... I haven't really changed anything on my tab the last few weeks. I'm not overclocking..
The last few days I did notice some pixels of weird colors on my wallpaper, but I figured it was just a bug in the livewallpaper which I installed a day before (skyrim live wallpaper from the tegra market)
I dunno what happened of what exactly causes this .. but it does really sting :S..
Try flashing (stock) rom, maybe that will fix your problems.
But by the sound of it it doesnt look like a rom problem....

Indeed thats what I figured...
Other then locking bootloader and flashing stock.. is there any other way samsung could see my device was rooted??
The thing is.. I don't overclock because the device is fast enough and I prefer battery time over extra performance. But .. if the tegra chip is somehow fried.. Samsung could blame rooting.. Which is understandable .. therefor I don't want them to jump to false conclusions.

Sometimes when im using MP my back buttong is not working, no vibrate and doesnt even respond with vibrate. what could be the cause of this problem? anyone experience this?
Me too. This happened after I update my mp to the latest version. But not often it happens like this

Same here.
I wasn't aware this problem until I flashed CM7.2.
Does someone experience this in stock rom?
And I find that it usually happens when I wake up in the morning or from afternoon rest for 2-3 hours. The variation in environment condition, such as moisture, may cause that to occur?

lol.
Actually,I clean my mp with wet tissue occasionally. Please correct me if that's a wrong way to maintain it.
But I sometimes found the touchscreen humid and my back button happened to fail.
Anyway,it returns to normal after I reboot.Annoying~

True, needs reboot im using stock rom not rooted, .62 FW XMP Black
hi.
i have also had problems with the back button on my SK17i playing up. I haven't updated my phone past 2.3, O2 are so kind and won't let me.
Now unless I'm a really soggy person, my back key decides it doesn't want to work today when my phone is bone dry (to me anyway). It did have an episode where it was in a pocket of a tent where alot of condensation gathered, but the back key was playing up before then...
I'm getting really frustrated by this as the only way i have to be able to get the key working again is to turn it off then back on. My phone isn't rooted or anything...it just decides (more frequently as the days go by) "you want to go back...nah not today methinks..." I'm getting to the point where I'm considering throwing in the towel and just getting a whole new phone...
Aha. I knew I couldn't be alone.
Facing this across two three roms now.
Gets more severe as the days go by.
Regards
N
i know its kindda of on an old thread haha..... but.. hmmm it seems its fairly common, anyone has a solution? im having the issue too, i have to reboot to fix it.... thanks in advance
I have the same problem, and for me it definitely started after the OTA update to ICS. But, when I go back to [flash stock] GB it's still there.
When I installed CM9 (and later CM10) the problem was gone, gone, gone... So lovely...
Unfortunately I had other problems with these ROMs that in the end drove me insane (!!!)
So now I am on a stock-based custom ROM, which is super fast and smooth [w/ rage kernel 3.2] and it took me a while before I realized the problem came back so obviously for me it's something that comes with the stock rom (that gor changed with the upgrade, but doesn't change with a downgrade, to GB).
Also, I noticed that if I press really hard it works as it should -in realizing this I remembered that I had similar problems caused by a protective film I used in the beginning, but when I upgraded [the protective film] to one of substacially higher quality this wasn't a problem anymore. But now if I peel up the corner by the back button it is clear that it gets way more responsive... But not enough to say it's back to normal.
These are the things I have been able to gather about this issue. But I guess all you really need to know is that if you use CM9 (or CM10) [w/ extended kernel] this problem is not an issue anymore -so what does that mean...?
hello all. I have a problem with my screen it just started happening yesterday.the screen will distort really bad and its hard to read things then it will go back to normal.going to try to get ss of it.maybe someone can help fix or may know what might cause it.can any interference cause it? And its not the oil slick issue.
well seems the ss only shows normal so i will have to use a camera to take a pic when i can. it gets all fuzzy and distorts the screen.just wondering if anyone else has had this issue. im doing a restore of a earlier backup to see if it changes anything if not i will use a camera to grab a pic of it.
Edit: ok i found a video of the same thing my screen is doing i hope someone can help with it,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JiOGUUKFtXI
My screen is doing the samething. Hard reset the unit and it helped for about 2 months now its back. Unrooted, all stock.

I got this issue on my s2 that is set up with the latest cyanogen rom
Happened all of a sudden randomly when i tried to take a pic i noticed it like that. Front camera works fine.
I have tried:
Factory reset
Different roms / kernels
hitting it...ye i know it probably doesn't help but everyone tries this!
The reason why i'm posting here is because I was almost 100% certain that it's a hardware issue but there was a kernel I installed that actually let me use the camera for about 1 or 2 minutes before it broke down again and that gave me doubt about the hardware thing so i'm asking you guys maybe someone can help.

(Sorry, new user cant post outside links but i have to show you the picture to understand my problem)
Is it blank screen or is giving you an error message?
If you think it's hardware, flash a stock ROM and see if it's not working as well.
If it is, reflash CM.
