[XGO]How to get your XGO snappier! - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

I would like to share my experiences and get ideas from other users about how to get GO go faster
I will myself try out all available roms with different goveners and cpu-settings and compare them, and later put a chart with my results in this post, but I would also like other ppls experience and feedback for making the comparison better and include better tips
I was not satisfied with the poor multitasking of gb, and hoped for better such in ICS so i installed it right away when it came out. Unfortunately, as you know, ICS for go is rather laggy, but it was much easier to root, and with root i could use ROM Toolbox and CPU tuner.
I have played around with my settings and now i don't experience any real lag, and I increased battery life to 4 days with normal use instead of one... Yes! four fu**ing days isn't that amazing? But I had to decrease amount of apps running in background and thereby my multitasking to be able to do this and that's the reason for my continued research.
I will compare all ROM's and kernels available, if i miss any, please tell me!

Good firmwares or roms for Galaxy 5..share your experince..

this post is for the referance to the users who want to upgrade it to the latest firmwares but dont know, which firmwares or roms to go about.. so i am starting this thread with the view of all the galaxy 5 users to share their experience about their upgradation to the new firmwares or roms and their known bugs you experience...
All the other members will get the benefits of the experience shared about the goods and bads about the firmwares or roms..please dont comment with false benefits..this is only for the good purpose..
So lets get started with the firmwares or roms that you experienced after the upgradation of your preffered roms.
Latest : http://www.madteam.co/forum/development/(development)-cyanogenmod-7-1-'galaxy5'-port/
- uses Clockworkmod to flash.
Few bugs, overclockable, loads of extra features (2.3.5 Gingerbread), My favourite.
Stable : http://www.madteam.co/forum/development/(release)-motafoca-2-0-9/
- uses ODIN to flash.
Stable, final version, more features. (2.2 Froyo) Best for new flashers.
I repackaged Motafoca's 2.0.9 for ClockworkMod: http://www.madteam.co/forum/develop...foca-froyo-2-0-9-rom-clockworkmod-edition/40/
CyanogenMod 7.1 "Galaxy5" Port.....
simply amazing!!!!!!!!!!
ppl report of bugs... but works fine for me!!! didnt encounter any bugs as of yet...
cyanogenmod v1.3...
hotfix2
Motafoca 2.0.9 and CM7 1.3 work really well for me. Although the CM7 1.3 has an issue with remembering the default app, it is not a big problem to me
Updated to cm v1.4!!! hf 1!!!!!!!!!!!!

[Q] What is the best CM 7.2 rom for Galaxy ace

Dear friends,
I am looking for a stable CM 7.2 rom for Galaxy Ace.
And it must also have more free ram.
What do you advice for me?
Thanks

Check some of them yourself..
XDA needs to implement some filters for best rom, best custom rom
Take ICS Final or Carbon Sunday beta from Jusada.
Sent from my GT-S5830 using XDA App
use carbon sunday if you want more free ram, definitely the lightest rom out there for ace (65-70mb only) very stable considering its only in beta stage
The End, my friend!
I've found The End 2.5 very stable and up-to-date (based on the latest 7.2 by vo with a cream of the crop set of fixes and enhancements, i.e. GPS fixes really make a difference, overclock kernel is nice and the scripts are decent[1]), I had ~ 145MB free RAM when I first installed it, boots quickly (I chose the odexed version, you can get it deodexed too). And the developer is active on these forums and has clearly helpful answers to questions.
For those that use the Jusada ROMS, is there some more detail about what changes those ROMs contain over the core 7.2 ROM -- the forum posts here contain very little details as they've been reposted from elsewhere.
----
[1] I actually removed lagfree and turboboost that come as default and installed the new engengis.delta -- it is much more customisable with a great commandline interface, see the gingerreal forum or search github for engengis for the latest code
Is there another idea

Could we have a general thread to talk about it ?
What do you mean with new OS ? something different than Android ? compatible with apks ?
Testing
I would gladly help with testing! That's the only thing I know how to do around development It's always nice to see development on X10.
Will you be working on a 3.x kernel? Because without it all the work is pointless for such a big and ambicious project! As the 2.6.x kernel is SERIOUSLY out of date.

i agree that a 3.x kernel would be really useful , but it can be a different project . it needs time ( much time ) , and it is not that easy to make a new kernel and port correctly all the drivers ...

you say that you have a base , is it built from source or it is based on other rom ?
is there any source code ? i've only seen kernel and rom on fera's github , but i think that rom is not for this project
Missed that part!
I completely agree with you, porting a kernel is very vary hard work and takes different programming knowledge than working on a ROM. Why I'm saying this about 3.x kernel, As it's stated in the beginning of the OP this ROM will be made first for X10 (as both contributors are active for X10 - used both of there ROMs and both are great ) and then for other phones too. I perceive the goal will be newer phones? And all of those use 3.x kernel.
On another note, Tof37 made a 3.0.8 kernel for X10. It boots but there are still many many problems. The thread on that kernel has been dead for over a month, so I suppose the development has stopped. But it could be a great point to start from!
Here, go through this and this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2608856
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2666426
Basically what I am saying is that time invested in making a 3.x kernel is a good investment.
This is a big and ambitious project and I support you guys all the way! Please be persistent with this, one day you might be as big as MIUI and CM!

Development is not stopped ... I'm just getting stuck with wifi and BT problems with this kernel ...
 @Buda1996 and @FeraVolt
Feel free to use my sources for 3.0.8 kernel
I wish I could help with this project but I don't have much time those days.
Regards,
Tof37
Let show to the world that an old device can work long due to a community of developers. I guess we need a new kernel.
Thanks Tof37, those are great news good luck with your work!
hi buda1996 & feravolt, any development in your Black OS project?

Android Lollipop 5.0 ROM on Low and Mid End Devices

I have an idea. My idea is a Custom ROM for Mid end and Low end devices based on Android Lollipop 5.0 but I cannot Port Roms. I Need You. I Need People who can Port Roms.
First I think that the Rom Must have very many stable Performance tweaks because the Rom should be Runs speedy like a SlimRom.
The kernel are a normal custom Kernel with dualboot options. I am still working on a Kernel what Runs with no lags, no bugs and it Runs very speedy and who can works on unlimited systems (dualboot,quadboot,...).
I have Not many ideas, please give me ideas who can idealized.
We can be a large and a good Team :highfive: .
Sorry for my Bad english.
Thanks from Germany
P.S Android Lollipop have Google Not bring it out but When it bring it out then We can porting the rom. We Need many ideas. Please share that on all people who can porting Roms or have many ideas
For kernel build you can ask airidosas252
he made one for kitkat an another for jellybean.
