Im sick of stock , C'mon in and help ;) - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys ,
The main problem is that i feel so limited with my phone.
i see so many things you can do while rooted and replacing ROMs but to be honnest...
IM SCARED . (lol)
i actually scared something will go wrong , and thats it .
Last time ive done sucha thing was with my very old Motorola milestone.
I dont know guys , just need your support and tips about it . thanks alot .
-----------
P.s Im running 4.0.4 Stock [cause my stupid country is delaying badly...]
and i get 58xx in Quadrant if its matter.
Sorry about my English hope you understood .
Thanks again .

Stock is alway safe, but as u said its limited in its own way.
I will advice u to flash stock official JellyBean (i prefer LL4) which has totally new feel. And you can enjoy it without rooting
Just use odin to flash it normallly.

You need to spend time and read the basics before anything .

If you fail to read or understand or are scared then don't flash anything .
Support and tips are all in the stickies threads linked above .

One its a question in the wrong forum .
Two it pays to read the basics first not last .
Three search works this question asked multiple times .
Four if you want stuff then at least look at the custom roms description .
#
Five
Download stock rom.
Flash as per instructions via Odin then root the phone again .
Six if you are to lazy to read how to then pay a service centre .

you can still be rooted = use mobile odin and check the box stay rooted and inject SU
but for your mod they will go (you can make your own mod look at my signature )
I bet you're one of those noobs who can't read and keep asking questions in development threads

Hallo world !

Today i`ve got a new galaxy s2 , white one now heh , after hardbricking the last one , one week ago...aaand ofc i cant help myself but to try and root it again. Now , i have found this site http://www.unlockroot.com/unlockroot.html and downloaded that program and everything .. the question is , is this safe to use ? No hardbrick on it ? What do you guys think ?
Ooor can someone show me a 100% safe way to do it ? I dont wanna kill another phone lol and now im kinda scared to just try anything i find D:
There are hundreds of threads about rooting your phone on xda, so why are you posting about using another method on a different site.
Maybe you could send a PM to theathiest and ask him to flash that on his phone to find out if it works/is safe. ........LOL
Maybe because i have ****ed up an sg2 before trying to install something from this site and now i want it to be 100% safe ? Anywayz , apparently im on the 4.0.3 version and that seems to be hardbrick free right ? If thats the case , that means i can root the phone using any method ?
Mate just flash syiah 4.0+ or dorimanx 5.92 via Odin and u get root or just update to jb via kies or download and flash via Odin then root u got few kernels for jb with root and jb is brick bug free kernels too good luck

You know what's the best way to avoid bricks?
It's starts with a "B" and it ends with "y reading the forum"
Y don't touch phone that's best way wot do u mean by that starts b finish y ? Look mate if u went avoid brick bug jut update to jb its bug free then use philz kernel its stock to root and voila u got bug free jb with root and u can sleep safe or after flash custom ROM rest info u find somewhere here

Don't repeat your mistakes again - learn to understand what you're doing before doing anything risky on you new phone. No one can prevent you from bricking it, only you can, by knowing what you're doing.

That's way before u do anything learn how to do u know that that's best way u know since first day I got my s2 I root and went custom and from that day I read to learn before I do that's best way to avoid problems
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Just use a "safe" Kernel and everthings okay. But check if the Kernel is the right one for your Firmware Version...
Aight , thanks for the feedback guys , i`ll think about rooting it again , keeping in mind that the official 4.1.2 its gonna come soon and it will pawn , so i guess i wont need root and a custom rom ... maybe only for deleting those god damn stock apps.
It is almost impossible to brick your phone if you stay away from .pit files and ticking re-partition in odin.

One last question guys , im from Romania , if i use lets say , the Russian Jellybeam version will it really matter ? I mean will it be any difference between the Russian one and actually waiting for the update in my country ?
it'll work just fine, it's not about the firmware, it's about modems.
You got people from brazil flashing russian jelly bean and they do just fine.

AS you post above shows lack of basic knowledge .
Please read the basics before flashing all stickied faqs and guides .
Is it worth it your choice suggest you actually take time to read the rom thread and decide .

JJEgan is being like that because this has been asked multiple times... now if you just search around the forums especially the Stock Firmware thread you'll find your answer.

ok i will
thanks for your relpy !!!
I've been using the 4.3 Wanam version with Yank custom kernel, as the official version IMO is not production quality yet.
If you just want a normal upgrade through OTA or Kies, my advice would be to wait as the current 4.1.2 stock firmware is very solid.

You lack basic knowledge and therefore in greater risk of bricking your phone .
If you are a experienced flasher you should know better than to ignore the basics .
Your choice your brick .

A phone is bricked be the user new or not .
If they want to start flashing without reading and double checking then its likely a problem .
As said usual per this scene flashed wrong firmware on a totally different hardware is not usual recoverable . Blown digitizer blown motherboard all probables .

How do you know I'm not also a doctor? Kind of annoying when people make assumptions based on no evidence. I didn't judge you -just pointed out the likely cause and effect, your phone's 'diagnosis' if you prefer.
