i know there is a lot of guides where is step by step how to do root and s-off with hboot 1.53 in phone. but ! i can not (changed mb) and i do not want either use htc dev unlock. is there any way (or will be) how to achieve root and s-off?
I doubt it.
What's wrong with HTCdev unlock metod? easy and secure way of unlocking bootloader , and s-off using wiretrick.
BTW-you can still back to original state for warranty reason.. Locked and so on
EDIT: Sry.. I did not read well.. (different motherboard)

Ok, you can post a link for it but it is a different topic. Talk about "without htcdev" method.

It labels your bootloader as tampered, though.
"Q: Does this give bootloader TAMPERED?
A: Yes but you can install RUU and will be gone."
Since you took the OTA. You cannot get S-OFF.
In order to flash custom ROMS you MUST unlock the bootloader
Awesome thanks guys

For now, the only way you can root is by going through HTC Dev unlock, which means a full wipe. I'm stuck right there with you.

Sorry, but this is not the way to run up your post count.
Maybe if you said what you have installed, what you are trying to do, and what you have tried so far someone could actually help you.
And there's no need to open two threads simultaneously unless what you are looking for in each is totally unrelated, and there's no way to tell that at this point.

i relocked my bootloader to go back to stock and it updated the bootloader to hboot 1.53.00007 and now i cant install jb and sense 4 roms

Relocking the bootloader will not update it to a different version. If you did the relock to flash an RUU that will update the bootloader to the stock level associated with the RUU and you will have to HTC unlock it, flash a custom recovery, then root the stock ROM or flash a custom rooted ROM.
I suggest rooting the stock ROM then doing the JuopunutBear wire trick to gain S-OFF before flashing custom ROM's to make everything much easier. There are guides to do all these thing that you can find if you use the advanced search mode for these forums and scan only titles for the topics you need.

I guess people should learn to give as much info as possible
Well here is the link to downgrade your hboot to 1.49 which on GSM phones, allows you to flash any romhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32032629

but he will need to be s-off for that. so wire trick first then the downgrade

Click on "HTC EVO 3D" next to the "home" icon and right below "PORTAL" in the upper left hand corner of this page, then search titles as indicated in my last post. You should have enough information to get started for what you need to do.
Sorry, but if you can't find what you need at this point then you probably shouldn't be worried about root and S-OFF.

Hi, I can not at any price, unlock your bootloader ...
You worded this kinda weird..
But you can certainly send me your phone along with some money and I'll send it back unlocked.
You said any price right?
2k :fingers-crossed: lol

Or at least S-OFF anyway.
Some users aren't able to use the htcdev unlock that have had the mainboard in their phones replaced, but now that unknownforce has his universal recovery tool (URT) available for both the CDMA and GSM models of the Evo 3D he can go straight to S-OFF without needing to unlock. And there is a zip file available that will unlock the bootloader once S-OFF, but there is really no need to do that, unless someone is paying you $2K to do it.

Boom!! Link man strikes again
If I have my bootloader unlock.bin from when I was on 1.05 and now I am on the 2.06. Is possible for me to unlock my phone and get s-off?
U need to go back to 1.15 and unlock the bootloader. Then you can get s off. Look in the stickies section in the development room.
Husker_DNA
i think you should downgrade first

You can still unlock with it.
As long as the unlock.bin is from that device, it should work just fine. Boot into bootloader and see if you have all 1's, or 2's listed on the 2nd or 3rd line down first. If so, give it a try. It will either work, or it won't. Let us know.
From my S-Off DNA
so if i do not have super cid my original unlock.bin code will not work on my original phone

It should still work.
But why do you not have supercid anymore. You will have supercid until you manually put it back.

i did the return to stock ruu method. Wouldn't that remove super cid?
used original unlock.bin and it worked

Depends on your hboot I guess. If you're on 1.22.651.1 and older, i guess you can use the method below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671577
Than there's this one, which isn't working at the moment but you can read and see if it helps you in any wa
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1690919
I am sure someone more knowledgeable can chime in and help you.
Pretty sure htcdev is the only route unless facepalm bypasses it . I haven't checked out that method. HTC dev works so why would anyone spent countless hours trying to gain root when a perfectly fine route exists.

Because I'm concerned about relocking my bootloader, if I use that method, and having it say LOCKED instead of RELOCKED.

My HBOOT is 2.09 and my software version is 3.16.651.3 710 RD. I guess I can't do it?
You will have to unlock and s-off in order for you to have the option of locking back to stock without the relock message.

This guide is a great tool to follow. Basically, you'll need to use HTCDEV to unlock your bootloader, than use the DirtyRacun/BabyRacun to RUU back to 3.15 than you'll be able to get S-Off
