Just curious on what exactly is needed to change the boot splash/logo and well as the samsung animation when then phone turns off. If anyone has any insight on hwo to change it on a samsung that would be awesome thanks
Boot Animation File:
/system/media/bootsamsung.qmg
Loop animation file:
/system/media/bootsamsungloop.qmg
Boot sound:
/system/media/audio/ui/PowerOn.ogg
You can pull the files from any of the other variants' images; the International version is nice and subtle with Samsung-only branding. Look in the themes threads for custom animations or instruction on making your own.

I used the application boot animation changer to change my boot animation. But now my boots animation is stuck. I can't change it. I even tried putting a new file called bootanimation.zip in system media. Help?

No matter what I do I cannot change the boot logo or bootanimation. I have changed the boot sound. The logo will not change at all. And I managed to get rid of the samsung s2 specific bootanimation and now it just says android instead. Is there something I'm missing?? Are their files that I should be deleting??
Standard method is to place the boot animation zip in system/media OR follow the instructions from the relevant boot animation in Themes section .

I have a samsung galaxy gio gt-s5660 and I tried to change the boot animation to that of the galaxy s, but now I end up with a green blurred animation with blue movement every time I boot the device.
The sound is successfully changed.
When I delete samsung boot.qmg there is no boot screen at all.

hey guys just though id post my current splash screen and boot animation.
not made by me just been resized by me. orginal one by HardcorePooka http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=813206
inside the zip is the boot animation, splash file and the sound clip.
place the boot animation in the usual place, the splash file is a PC49IMG.zip so just boot into bootloader and install as a update, and go here for directions of how to install sound at boot http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1364636, and then place the android_audio.mp3 in the system media file.

Hate the carrier based boot animation and shutdown animation, if anyone could make a plain Google or Samsung based boot and shutdown animation that would be seriously great, thanks
Download N910C/N910F Rom or boot+shutdown animation and replace it to system/media and system/media/shutdown
