I am on Resurrection Remix JB 3.1.2 . I like this ROM but i have a big big problem. Everytime i connect my phone with my PC via usb and turn the usb storage ON,,,, in my phone all my photos and videos on both memory ( SD Card & Phone Memory ) deleted automaticlly without any warning .. It is the second time that happens to me. Plzz some one tell why is this happening to my phone.
That's strange...
Did u check if this is PC or Phone(ROM) related?
Test if it happens on another PC, too.
So maybe u are running a software on or PC which brings this bad result.
If there happens the same, try another ROM or ask in ROM thread if anybody else recognized this problem.

Guys ran in a weird prob....after upgrading to 2.2 via kies my pc cant detect my phone. When i connect to usb the phone recognises the connection and i am able to mount the storages also in my phone but my pc is not able to detect any drive....please help....cant do anything.

Did you try a different usb port as well? I've never used kies, but its my understanding it comes with its own set of drivers. Did you install those? If not, give it a try. How its done though, I wouldn't know off the top of my head. On the other hand if you did install them, uninstall kies and/or the drivers, and other ones if you have them, reboot, and reinstall the drivers you knew to work the last time. Also try a different computer if you have access to one, and see if it works.
Edit: I just read through the thread again after having my morning coffee, and didn't see one item in particular mentioned. In your settings - applications - usb settings, are you set to mass storage mode?

Phone Mounting
Not sure what ROM you are using but I had a similar issue. With stock Vibrant the phone would mount as two drives in both Windows and SUSE - no problems. After installing the Nero V5 ROM the other day I couldn't get the phone to mount as a drive in either SUSE or Windows. Both OSs could see the phone since tethering worked. After much searching in a few forums I couldn't get a clear answer about what was going on.
Turns out that in addition to the normal use of USB debugging mode I now had to turn on USB storage in the notification area. It always turned on automatically before and when plugging in a USB cable the notification said USB was connected but the drives weren't being automatically mounted. I think it is because the Nero ROM has built in tethering and you have to specifically select either tether of USSB mount after the cable is plugged in. I think this extra step that wasn't needed before (because tether wasn't a system option) is what is causing some of the problems. Just a guess but one that worked for me.
Even after selecting mass storage from the notification bar the drives are not appearing.
I am on stock froyo. Haven't been able to try in a different pc, will let u guys know after trying in a seperate pc.

This worked for me and it has worked do far.... go to settings, applications, USB settings, and enable Ask on connection.. then it asks select Kies... it usually took a couple of times but it always worked for me.
I had to go back to an older version of Kies to make it connect. Allow it to update the phone's firmware but not update Kies.

Guys nothing seems to be working for me, tried ask on connection but nothing is working. The phone can recognize the pc but the pc isn't.
When I go to device manager nothing is recognized in my usb port.

Try reloading Kies 1.5.3.10092_2 and be sure not to allow it to update itself automatically. This is the only way I have been able to get it to work with my Galaxy S (while running factory 2.1, rooted).
I just upgraded to the standard 2.2 (haven't rerooted yet) but haven't yet upgraded to a newer version of Kies to see if these changes to the phone will have any effect on this connection problem. Just like you, the phone seems to be detecting the connection properly, just Kies won't finish connecting.
DONT ENABLE OPTION ASK ON CONNECTION POUT IT ON MASS STORAGE , IF THIS DIDNT HELP AND YOU ARE NOT ON STOCK LAUNCHER LIKE TOUCH WIZ .....REINSTALL TOUCHWIZ AND RUN IT AS DEFAULT should help .
and if u are on 2.1 eclair u need touchwiz back to make yoooour phone discoverable by kies . hey .

I upgraded via kies only, the pc detected the phone that time without any hitch. After the upgrade I am having this issue.
How to reinstall touchwiz?

Guys found the solution at last. There were two "pmp.usb.ini" files, one in phone sd and another in external sd. Just deleted them and tried to connect....voila...my pc can recognize my phone again.

I'm kinda new to android world , whenever I use USB debug or my device as mass storage , after unplug the phone from PC , it will freeze then reboot.
I formated my SD and issue solved , I found that some apps doesn't like been installed on SD ,took me ages to track each app down , I moved them to Phone ( system memory ) and solved everything .
Phone was working fine for a week , using usb debug , I installed a live wallpaper , now my phone doing the same again , I moved it to phone , but still happening . I removed that live wallpaper and still happenning , is so damn random.
This issue driving me insane , how can I overcome it ?
I already tried diffrenet SDs , formated my phone and restored it , it was happening before I had it rooted . Will a custom ROM fix this ?
Please guide me

Try a wipe version of a newer stock ROM ....... might solve the issue
I took the device to Samsung center , they formatted device and upgraded firmware to latest , but that didn't change anything , it's only happen with apps been on SD , it works fine , if no SD or apps are on phone .
No one having the same issue at all ? Having apps on SD and using USB debug ?
I will try installing custom ROM or stock one
I gota feel it's SGS 2 system fault or android . I need someone to confirm it to me .

tell us which apps u have in SD? i just tried moving all my apps into sd and using USB debug mode works fine for me... so it would help if u tell us which apps u have installed

I just intalled Villian Rom after a wipe , I tried moving mp3 from device memory to SD , I got "Moving failed" , ...Media Scanning ....On the notifaction area , then everything on SD fail to work .

I have a Xperia U here.
Locked bootloader with android 2.3.7,not rooted
Everything was fine till today when I realize that the phone storage is not doing anything.
Even when I :
uninstall apps,
install apps,
delete files,
add new one,
make changes to settings.
Whatever I do its only for the moment...
After a restart everything is back again.
Even when I connect the phone to the PC and format the storage,it becomes empy,but after a restart everyting is back there...
I cannot flash it,reset settings,format storage.
Tryed everything and still no result.
Anyone have an idea how to fix that memory ?
It seems that all the storage memory is affected.

i am using Samsung s 2 GT-I9100 nearly two years and from last month my cell going to switch off even if it is fully charged and when it on.. it shows that battery low. Actually its not my problem at the moment.
I am not using any sd card as it having a 16 gb memory.
Once my mobile switched off continue for three times. after that my photos in the gallery gone somewhere....
my phone storage is still 2 gb free. i when i opened the camera it shows app closed forcefully . my music is also not getting open. it shows that not enough memory to music DB. so delete some items. my photos i can still see in My files-DCIM-CAMERA. but its not moving. to anywhere.
i t tried to connect. to my pc.... tried. by putting an sd card... but nothing is helping me. storage is still having 2 gb free.
i uninstalled some games and other application ... and also deleted some movies. which was in my mobile . but still the same problem. plz help me by giving suitable information...

1. To see your firmware version go to system settings/about device
2. Might be you have corrupted files on your internal sd card.
Try following:
- connect your phone in UMS mode (not MTP) to PC via USB cable
- check the sd card for errors from PC: /right click > properties/tools/error-checking

i installed airdroid yesterday and uninstalled after remove the administration rights
so
today when i try to connect to usb cable to the pc after when i click to ok for usb storage it resetting itself
i try 2 other pc and i get same problem
i search lots of thread for solutions includes usb driver installing its no fixed mine
im using gamerz rom 1.9 and i dont wanna format the phone to other rom because i have so many applications
