Issue: torrent app automatically opens up when loading some site. - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have an issue. It happens when there is a flash video or something to play. Like if I open a site containing a review of a phone like gsmarena or phonearena, if the particular page contains a video, then the torrent app starts. Dunno what the issue is.. anyone pls help if possible. Dunno whether it is ROM related, I'm running omega v35 stock kernal. I think i also had this issue while using foxhound 1.4. Pls help.

Logic says look at the app settings .
No luck then freeze the app or uninstall it until its required .
You could also try wiping cache and dalvik cache and fix permissions .

Cache and dalvik cache is wiped. And if I have to uninstall the app or freeze it, then the use of the app becomes pointless Na? Is there any fix for this??

Have you tried to reset the torrent app defaults? You might have associated the torrent app with that particular content or file type.
Settings > applications manager > installed apps > torrent app > clear defaults

I agree with winsome - try clear defaults first

What app are you using?
Ttorrent had a bug with their app which did exactly what your saying. But they fixed it with an update about a week ago.
If it's a problem with the app, then just change it. There are plenty of good torrent apps.

Where is the data usage found in the system so I can wipe it or just clear the data on the app?

If you're running ICS, it's under Menu > Settings > Usage.
If you're not running ICS, you don't have that feature.

I don't think it can be reset. I think you just need to set the usage cycle and wait until the next month comes up. I may be wrong, but I can't find a reset anywhere.
It should be a .bin file somewhere in the system I just wanted to ask if anyone knows the exact location before I spend some time in root explorer

Just clear the app data of google maps in Settings>Application manager.
If that doesn't fix the hang then try re-installing the app from the market.
If even the 2nd tip fails, then root the phone and clear cache partition in CWM recovery.
But I think the 1st tip should work just fine.

When you did these two installs, did you wipe cache, dalvik, system, and factory reset?
Yeah I did, but I think i found the problem. I did a batch back up and hit restore apps with data. When I did a normal restore it worked fine. Thanks for the help.

Good. Rule of thumb: don't restore system apps or app data.

Try to clear app cache under settings and applications.
and or clearing the Dalvik cache may solve your issue.

Thank you for your information. I have tried following things before I posted this thread
1. Cleared the cache of xda app, google play services and google playstore
nothing was happened after the above steps done and still the issue exist
2. Wiped cache and dalvik cache from Recovery
Still the issue is exist.
May be framework issue for XDA app. Not sure though..
