For those who dont know me I dev with Team Slim, ROM is called Slim Bean, located here. Anyway I have tossing the idea of getting the note2 around in my head and bringing Slim Bean 4.2.1 to it as well If your interested in Slim Bean on the note2 drop a post so I can get a feel for how many want to see Slim Bean on this device.
What kind of question is that.... of course we want you to create a rom here. I use to run slim on my s3!! Amazing work

Well I had a similar thread for Slim Bean on d2usc. Got it up and running but interest just wasnt there, tester stopped replying and whatnot. The ROM was bug free to, as it was 4.2.1 version, IDK, some peoples kids I guess, lol.

**** I forgot lol I remember now. I remember I tried out his ROM for a bit. I was thinking of someone else who made a slimmer TW ROM. Now that I look back at my S3 backups I remember. His ROMs were still really damn slim. The only ROM that was slimmer was Liquid but Slim still had lots of features while maintaining that slim package

No. "ATT Note" implies i717. If they would have just said "Note", that would have been vague. Throwing ATT in there makes it clear as day.

And he said msm8660 devices which is the S3 processor inside our i717 Notes.

Hello I'm fairly new to Android and I'm just getting to know about flashing and hacking. But what does aokp stand for and what is it, along with cm9. I wouldn't be asking questions but I don't know where to look here. Can someone give me a thread where I can find out about all these terms and what not.. Thank you, greatly appreciated

AOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project, CM9 is CyanogenMod 9. Basically they are both similar roms that are built from open source vanilla android, and can be built for basically any android phone so long as a developer is willing to put in the time. They both share some code with each other, yet AOKP tends to have a few more tweaks, and both are crazy fast. They also have a theme engine that allows people to make themes that can be applied on any phone running AOKP or CM9, regardless of which phone.
As for learning other stuff, I point you here for terminology: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22223555
And for how to root/rom go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24539068
I suggest just taking some time on stock to learn the ins and outs of how the stock software works, and reading as much as possible on here, before you try to do anything.

Both are based off of AOSP which is the Android Open Source Project. Google released the source code for Android ICS and developers take that code and make their own roms. CyanogenMOD is basically pure Android ICS but with some extras. AOKP is based on AOSP but with themes, tweaks, etc. They both are different and both very good.
We currently have both roms but unofficial versions of the roms.
AOKP: http://aokp.co/index.php/news
CyanogenMOD: http://www.cyanogenmod.com/
An official before source drops Nice. Unofficial still works great though.
I thought AOKP was based on CM9

Hello all.
Been reading through the development posts and can't find a stable ROM jb with s-pen apps.
I mean really jb for the note.
Is there such a thing?
Reason s-pen and not Papyrus is I have a Wacom Cross pen and have gotten used to the eraser which only the s-pen utilities seem to work with.
Thanks for tolerating this newbie.

Stock Samsung apps won't be on jb unless Samsung release a jb ROM. All the jb ROMs are aosp based liked cm.
Some apps may work with that pen eraser though, don't have one to test.

Oh I'm no genius. My smarts about things that pertain to this site however come from reading and searching and learning. Which, oh my, happens to be the golden rule of this site! Imagine that.

I was looking at slim bean but it isn't for my note.
I already have go launcher and paid for the email, phone, IM systems so all I need to come with the ROM is Note s-pen stuff or I could add it.
I guess clean and stable 4.2.2. (I am really liking Google now on my tablet and want it on my phone) in what I am looking for. I use my phone for work on reliable would really be appreciated.
Any got launcher users out there that found a good working reliable ROM for their i717

It's nice to see the n2 finally getting attracting more devs and a variety of roms. That has been the only disappointment for me with the n2. Halo has like changed how I use my phone. I can't live without it since i first flashed paranoid android on my gnex. I have been daily driving paranoid android 4.3 for near a month now and it's amazing. If you like aosp Roms that's the way to go IMO. Pacman is another good option. For tw id recommend jelly beans or the new Jedi x. If I were you I'd just flash around like I did until you find something that fits your needs. For me its paranoid android with devil kernel

lol you knuckleheads...... On paranoid 4.3 . Enjoying halo big time. Thinking about switching to an older version so I can enjoy something that's more complete. It's brilliant though. Guys are really doing a great job. At times the PIE hidden nav bar gets in the way of my launcher buttons, but i made it smaller and it seemed to help a big.. still in the way at times... I love the PIE full screen mode...
