[Q] helpp neededd - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

please can anyone help me i forgot my lock screen password it's the numerical password and i can't access my data.
please how can i bypass it or get back into my phone. I really need my data i can't live without them.
P.S: still on stock rom the phone is not rooted.

keep enter the wrong password a few more times then the google password screen will pop up allowing yo to by-pass the lock screen.
once you have access to your phone change the password to something you will remember or write down for the future and put is somewher safe.

^^ This.
Plus, next time use proper topic title that gives a description of topic for people browsing forum. This gives people an idea of what topic is about at a glance and you're likely to get more views and possibly more help. Leaving idiotic titles like "helpp neededd" and "hlp plz" and "help me" etc are generic non-descriptive titles and frankly an insult to forum.

[Q] Unlocking xperia U without knowing the unlock pattern?

My friend has been deceased in a car accident this Sunday.
Is it possible to unlock his sony xperia u phone without knowing the unlock pattern to contact his friends, relatives, and everyone that matters?
Or flashing a custom recovery to the phone somehow and cloning all the data on the storage to an sd card or hdd?
Every option, recommendation, possibility matters, even taking the phone into a sony service or sth. like that.
Let me know if you can help.
Thanks!

Well, just try some random patterns. Sometimes, it's just a real simple one. If that doesn't work, and you enter the wrong pattern for a certain amount of times, you can get in using the Google account (if you have those credentials) or by answering the security question. I can't think of anything other than that, but perhaps some smart folks around here have a good idea.
I think its impossible due to android security programming unless you just keep tring or answer the security questions or crack his google account password.
If USB debugging is turned on its possible.Just delete gesture.key from /data/system using adb shell..

MT2L03 Carbon 5.1.1 Multiple user (Guest)

I got Carbon successfully installed and love it! But one thing I miss is how easy it is to stop users from browsing my private data when I hand my phone over to them (Emui Privacy Protection, google (in quotes) Hide Your Contact, Album and App)
I figure with Carbon the closest equivalent is the guest account?
If it isn't, please clue me in, but if it is, my phone is limited to one user account when I can't force fw.max_users=4 to stick.
pm get-max-users keeps going back to 1 after every reboot.
Does anyone know of an alternative locking functionality to that emui awesomeness I had before? Or is there a way to make guest work?
Sorry to make y'all google above, I'm a newbie and am not allowed to add url's to this post

The URL that comes up when you google "Hide Your Contact, Album and App" is too long to do that, but it comes up instantly with the exact results that I'd paste anyway.
I just wanted to illustrate the feature that I am missing and wish I could make work in Carbon. Thinking about reverting to emui just for that feature, but if I did that I'd feel so inadequate, having worked so hard to get twrp and carbon installed.
Dual Boot:

You can have multiple ROMs at once. Highly recommended by me .

Yeah, what I need though is more like what's available in the emui stock os, where you can lock your phone, unlock it with an alternate pin, and the temporary user can't open any but the apps you specify.
Rebooting to a separate rom is too much trouble for handing the phone off for 30 secs.
Have you seen the emui privacy protection feature? Pretty cool.
I'll probably just use screen pinning; not quite as good, but it works.
You could use stock ROM most of the time when you know you might have to share the phone, and make Carbon your secondary to use only when you won't be likely to need to share phone.

That would be one solution.
Since I posted this two days ago, I've experiment with the screen pinning tool, and also I DID successfully add another user account, so switching users should be a good solution.
You'll have to forgive me; I work in IT Security. One just doesn't hand over one's information to another user!!
Isn't there a Carbon thread. Maybe ask Carbon questions in there.
There are app lockers out there like this. What you do is choose an app you want to lock (for example, Gallery) and then you choose when to lock it and how to unlock it.

Help Recovering Data from Xperia X

Hello Everyone,
This is a 100% genuine question, I am not a crook, blagger or thief.
A friend of a friend passed away recently, she was young (30's) and left three young children behind and a heartbroken husband.
Anyway, she had a sony xperia X with photos of her kids, her life and all her personal accounts linked to it - and it is behind a password so her family have been unable to gain access to her phone. They have asked me to help as ive done a few things for my friend in the past with a high level of success (data recovery, etc)
I have a ton of info about her, kids DOB's, husbands DOB, all their names, her email account (but no password for that either) and a ton of hints and suggestions of what the PW could be from her dad but so far ive been unable to get in.
I have tried DrFone android toolkit but the phone isn't supported.
I have searched and searched and the things I have found either involve a hard reset/wipe which we dont want or involve using some dodgy solution that I really dont trust (i only just persuaded myself to get DrFone as that didnt exactly look fully legit)
So i'm reaching out to this community as I know if anyone will have any suggestions it would more than likely you guys.
Im a LONG time lurker of these forums (although i'm ashamed to admit ive only just singed up now to post this) im reasonably clued up on these things and have messed about with phones since I was a kid, but this has left me scratching my head.
Few points to note;
The phone is locked with a password, I dont beleive USB debugging will be enabled (cant check) and I *think* i know the gmail account linked to it but cant get access to it. The phone is no longer on a network so cant access the web or have security pins sent to it via SMS although I dont think I would be able to see them as its been rebooted and needs password to view contents of any messages that come in.
Thanks in advance guys and girls
if its locked bootloader then there is no way you can retrieve data
not from the internal storage
its encrypted! any attempt to login and rooting will require long process and sony will wipe everything
try remembering her gmail and password. usually backup goes to gmailaccount , perhaps thats you clue
Thanks for your reply mate, I am trying to get access to her email, I shall keep you posted
Why not unlock her bootloader, flash TWRP and gain access to the pictures that way?
Edit: OEM unlock needs to be enabled in developer options - unlikely

If you use your Fingerprint-Sensor, you need also a password for it, right?
And after every 3 Days - my phone says i need to enter my password again.
same like here:

Don't use password..
I don't think there is a way to disable it. Just use a pin to make your life easy.

Thats also on oneplus phones, at 2-3 days as well. Is just simply a security measure for some of us which are bad at remembering passwords/pins. I think this is a very good thing to not forget your passwords or pins

Or you could use a keepass data base ^^
Big mistake buying this phone. Don't buy this phone. Ridiculous we cannot eliminate this pin code when we already use fingerprint protection.
---------- Post added at 06:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:49 PM ----------
First, know this. You can remove the password, however, you will also remove all other protection, like fingerprint id. etc. I find this very suspicious.
Go to settings - Security & privacy - Screen lock & passwords - Password
Enter your password
Go to password > and enter None
You now have zero protection
I seriously think that it should be possible to disable the "forced" 3-day password/pin code while still having the fingerprint reader security and possibility to unlock using the password/pin code.
The 3-day forced password/pin HAS to be optional.
Best Regards
Me

To not have to be surprised when your phone ask it? Why put a password if you do not want to use it? I have the same kind of password, and enter them for every account I have on the web, each different, not a big problem with a physical keyboard cause a 16 letter/digit/symbol password can be done in less than 5sec. But for the phone, a gesture pin with the path set to invisible do the thing, you can do pretty f*cked up gesture rather than just un L or a W like majority of people do. And not be bothered when asked the pass. Finger print is not a secure way to unlock the phone anyway (it whould just be a authentification, not a pass), so putting a strong password as not real meaning here.
All that drama....just use 1234 pin and make your life easier
What if I have a medical emergency and I am not able to type any password? I just want to put my finger and then touch the icon of my medical care.
Is this something that only happens on this particular build??? My mate 10 (non-pro) has never done what you are saying here? I use a fingerprint for access with a PIN to unlock on boot up, but I have never been asked for a PIN/Password every three days. Now my phone has not yet received Pie...so I am not sure if that is the cause. Someone also said in a previous post that this happens on OnePlus also??? I have a brand new OnePlus 6 (not T) running on Pie and this does not happen on this phone either? Something is not right here.
I have the same thing both on Oreo and on Pie, it's maybe region related but not big deal for me.
damn what you are you hiding in that phone with this kinda password??? nuclear launch codes??
give yourself a break.
anyways ...good post.... looking forward for a solution. good day
this is nothing special to huawei,
it came from the google nexus smartphones:
