I may try to port Revolver over the TF201.
Do we need an unlocked bootloader for custom roms, or just custom kernels?

We need unlocked bootloader for the custom kernel but we may not need it to install custom roms that don't have custom kernel, or at least that's the way it works on my phone.

I'd be glad to see that !!!!
Revolver was superb on my TF101
P.S. ... asus sent someone an email to say that they are unlocking the bootloader when they release ICS ... so for all we know, its already unlocked (i doubt it as they did talk about a tool to do this originally)

[Q] Kernel on stock rom

Can i flash a kernel on my stock rom ICS ? (i am using Live with walkman)
while installing a custom rom from the developers community can i install it on my stock kernel, is it neccesary to change the kernel ?
thanks for the help in advance
Yes you can install a kernel for stock ICS, just check out development section
And yes it's necessary to change if it's another android version or if the developer tells you in his thread to use a specific kernel

yea so there is a rom i want to install(for live with walkman), and it says that u can load a custom kernel if u want ?
so that means even if i dont load a custom kernel, would it work on my stock kernel from the manufacturer is it fine ? or i will have to load custom kernel ?

There are custom roms for locked bootloader (no need to flash a kernel) and there are roms for unlocked bootloader (you need to flash a kernel)

you are required to unlock your bootloader on non stock based roms such as CM11, AOSP or anything alike
