Backup your sdcard and try returning to your stock ROM and do a full wipe with Stock Recovery (it will wipe your sdcard) and try again. Hope that helps.
I can only flash thru Odin now since I had reformatted already without doing nandroid.
Flashing recovery.md5.tar from Odin isnt working. Will flash stock ics from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1831040
slow dload
Just flashed stock 3.2
Starting all over.
Is here a better version of Gaps so i dont do this again?!

I have a i9100M that I got recently.
I've been flashing a few different ICS ROMS to try with 100% success and the phone has been awesome.
Then I decided it was getting annoying installing and setting up all of my applications every time I switched to a new ROM so I figured I'd try using the Titanium Backup "All System Data and User Apps" backup and restore.
So I did that, after the restore was done (I went from CM9 to Resurrection Remix 2.5) Everything was working fine for a few minutes but when I was going through some of the RR2.5 settings, the phone suddenly reboot and is now stuck at the boot screen.
It will show the boot animation forever, I've left it for up to about an hour trying to boot.
I can get in to download mode and I've successfully flashed other mods, including a stock ICS image I found somewhere (it was a UK one but I figure that probably doesn't matter?) and they all will just get stuck at the boot animation forever.
Where do I go from here?? Thanks in advance!
If you can't get into recovery to do a factory reset, you only option is to flash something in download mode. If you want to use CM9, use the 'n00b proof' method on the first page of the CM9 discussion thread & flash the Resurrection edition, then the latest nightly & Gapps.
Or flash a stock rom in download mode with Odin, root your phone then restore a backup. Or you could also do a clean install of whatever custom rom you want once you've rooted your phone.

Hi MistahBungle, thanks for the quick response.
Is there by chance a stock rom that you can suggest? I tried one that I found through google and it flashed fine, but it still won't finish booting.
I've tried flashing Resurrection again as well and still had no luck :-/

Try XWLPG. Although there are new roms uploaded by sammobile awhile ago. One thibg you did erong was you restored a system app. You shouldn't have done that.
Edit: Just to make sure, look at sammobile.com for the latest firmware for your phone. Although i9100 and i9100M is similar in hardware, better flash one that is specifically for your device

So this is weird... In four days, the ROM or phone has froze on me about half a dozen times now. The first time when I was setting it up by as I had just done a flash of the ROM. While setting it up, the phone decided to suddenly slow down all of a sudden to a crawl, up to the point where everything started to get washed out and freeze on me. Force restart by holding Volume Up + Power was the only solution to fix it. Just now, my sister had it connected to her computer and was transferring music over into the internal SD when suddenly, the same thing happened. Again, only solution was to force restart. Anyone have this happen to them before? Everything is completely stock except that we're on Dorimanx 5.3 kernel. Then the other times, it would either slow down and freeze in the CWM Recovery Menu, or when she is texting, playing games, etc. There aren't that many apps installed at all. Reflash of kernel doesn't solve the problem.

Could it be that I need to flash the phone with official ICS + bootloader + PIT? I jumped straight from stock Gingerbread to custom ICS.

try doing a wipe data/factory reset as that is normally a fix to these kind of problems. Also clear cache and dalvik and that should fix the problem!

Do not use the .pit file unless you understand 100%sure about what you are doing. That's probably the easiest way to bork your device.
Edit: try flashing a different kernel. Try dark knight or fluxi. I think it would solve your issues

I can't wipe data/factory reset in CWM for some reason when I first tried to install the custom ROM. Never tried again... I wonder if it's because my I9100 is brickable.
I have cleared cache and dalvik cache but no luck. It even slowed down and froze in CWM Recovery.

I know what I'm doing. Flashed with PIT many times before on my Captivate. Haven't tried PIT on her I9100 though. I haven't broken my phone with PIT yet, even though there's quite a few PITs out there lol.
I've read of others running the same combo as me, but they're fine so I wonder what else could cause this...

Running the latest Dorimanx 5.5 kernel and still getting the same problem. In fact, I noticed that if you set it to Performance under Kernel Tweaks in Recovery, the problem is more apparent. Setting it to default causes the issue too.
I recently updated to the most recent version of paranoid android with a clean install (full wipe) and I'm experiencing multiple bugs. There's no lock screen when I turn the screen on and the home key doesn't work at all, apart from waking the phone up (can't exit apps with it or long press for recent apps). I'm receiving no notifications in my task bar and no incoming call alerts, although the notifications and calls are working in the background. Plus the stock browser won't start up.
The strangest thing is ...after returning to stock sammy rom all these bugs are gone but when I flash cm10 or aokp based rom back, all these same bugs come back regardless of what kernel I use (latest siyah or cm10 kernel).
All system settings are unchanged from default values so these bugs aren't setting related. I've done multiple full wipes with totally clean installs but, I'm still greeted with these bugs upon booting. Does anyone have the slightest idea why I'm plagued by these issues ...the phone is pretty unusable at the moment with these problems. No home key means so many extra taps on the screen and a lot of extra time wasted and I'm missing all my calls and texts because of no notifications. Please if anyone knows how to fix this ....it'll be much appreciated!!
Bumping cause I'm kinda desperate for some help.
Has no one experienced this kind of behaviour on their GSII? I'm really at a loss as to how to fix this. I've been flashing roms on my GSII for over a year now and never heard or seen anything like this before. I really can't face going back to sammy rom which seems to be the only thing to fix this.
please list all the steps you took when you flashed CM10/paranoid
Hi and thanks for the reply. All the relevent steps I took in CWM were
1 Wiped data/Factory Reset
2 Wiped Cache
3 Wiped Dalvik Cache
4 Ran a kernel cleaning script
5 Installed PA v2.17
6 Installed gaps
7 Fixed permissions
It's just really weird how these bugs are happening on both aokp (official) and PA, so it's obviously nothing to do with the roms. Just can't figure out what the problem is at all. I'm going to try the Super Nexus rom soon to see if that's any different.

Hi ...I tried the procedure exactly as you instructed but the problem persist. However ...a couple of times during the procedure I saw that cwm was having problems mounting the sdcard. "fail mounting sdcard" I think. I'm not sure whether its referring to internal or external. I don't have an external inserted at the moment anyhow. If it refers to internal sd then maybe the answer to my problem can be found there?

That was the cause of the problem.
you need to first flash either Custom Stock based ICS Rom via CWM recovery, or flash an unmodified Stock firmware via Odin before flashing an Aosp ICS or Jelly bean ROM.
So please flash stock ICS firmware now.
Problem solved.

OK will download ICS Stock rom right away ....thanks alot for your help and patience. Guys like you really make the difference in this community, I really can't thank you enough. I'll report back as soon as I'm done.
No luck thus far ...I installed NeatRomLight on which the problems weren't present but as soon as I flashed back to PA the problems were back. I tried with the same instructions you gave in the earlier post with reboot of recovery and such. This really is a strange one. What confuses me most is the fact that everything works fine with stock sammy or modded sammy but, thats the last thing I want to go back to after using aosp/cm based roms for the last 6 months.
Maybe if I download stock unmodified rom eh? Well it can't hurt to try anyways.
Were you trying to install the latest version of PA on siyah? That doesn't work. Right now PA 2.17 and above will only run on the CM10 kernel..same goes for latest pure aokp builds I think.
If you want to stick to siyah and PA, download PA 2.16. It should work.

Just got a GSIII today and have been trying some JB ROMS out, but so far I have not been able to get WiFi working at all with any of them.
I have tried Vanilla RootBox, LiquidJB and SuperNexus but whilst I can see my WiFi AP on all of them and can enter my password all I get is the "Connecting..." message for ages before it gives up?
WiFi works fine on the stock ROM, and there are no obvious settings on the WiFi router itself which would be causing this.
Any advice appreciated!

Thanks, I just spotted a couple of threads mentioning this.
Couple of questions, when you say flash back to stock does that mean through CWM Recovery, or some other way? Does it have to be a straight flash to a downloaded stock ROM or am I able to just "restore" the backup I made?
Thanks again!

Cool, so I've got Odin (I believe that's what I used to root the phone?) Is there a specific .zip I need to flash back to? Also do I need to boot back in to the stock ROM or just stick JB straight back on again?
Please note, when you have flashed back to ics you need to then set up phone and connect to Wi-Fi once, then proceed to flash jb

Excellent. Do I need to download a specific "Stock ICS" ROM to do this? Any pointers as to where I can find this?
Thanks for the help people
I seem to remember I just flashed an old wannamlite Rom in cwm
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646610
These ones. (4.0.4)
Or try http://fus.nanzen.se/
This is if you want to find the original firmware your phone came with.
I'm still not having much luck with this.
Should I be wiping before I flash back to ICS, and then again before back to JB?
I think a wipe before flashing ICS is enough.
But watch the youtube video on the first post on :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646610
It pretty much explains every part of returning to stock ICS. From there it is just reflashing JB with odin and wifi should work.
Hmm, still not having much luck. I've installed my JB ROM, wiped, gone back to stock ICS using the ROM from the link provided above in ODNI.
But now when I try to reboot in to recovery to re-flash my JB ROM I seem to get a different version of recovery from what I had before and it fails during verification when I try to flash the .zip.
Any advice welcome!
I'm having the same problem here.
BUT, even flasing stock ICS and flasing a custom JB ROM after that does not solve the issue.
Here is what I did in what order. Maybe I'm missing some essential point or whatever:
- full wipe in cwm recovery
- flash stock ICS via Odin (I9300XXBLH3_I9300DBTBLH4_I9300XXLH1_HOME.tar)
- reboot and test WiFi. WiFi works fine! Firmware is 4.0.4
- flash CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4 to gain root again
- boot into CWM Recovery, format /preload (to get rid of apps installing themselves on boot)
- another full wipe
- install zip from sdcard (tried AOKP JB build 4 for i9300 and ParanoidAndroid v2.22)
same old ****! WiFi not conecting!
I would apeciatie any help to solve this problem for me. Aparently reverting to stock ICS has solved this for others but I dont get what I'm donig wrong her...

Okay so I Re-rooted with CF-Root through ODIN and have got CWM recover back, but now when I re-flash JB I still get the same problems, try to connect to WiFi and it just sits there saying "Connecting..." and then gives up!
Is there a specific set of steps for doing this? I connected to WiFi whilst back on the Stock ICS ROM (LG8) and that worked fine, I have tried various combinations of wiping/not wiping at each stage in between JB->ICS->JB with no luck. Do I need a particular Stock ROM to go back to, do I have to use a specific version of ODIN/CF-Root/CWM?
Very annoying as everything else about the Jelly Bean ROMS seems perfect!
Has anyone worked out why JB ROMS are doing this?
I have the same problem
It seems to work for some people to go back to ICS and then flash JB ROMs, but somehow it does not work for us..
I'm trying an old stock ICS now and the will flash cm10. lets see if that helps
I've downloaded a selection of stock and custom ICS roms to try with the process, hopefully something will do the trick!
Also I don't think changing router settings can have anything to do with this as it works fine for every other device I own, including a different handset running JB. However out of curiosity I spent last night playing with all the settings to see if anything would help. It didn't
U said u flashed back to stock.... In that case u lost cwm then ur gonna hafto re flash cwm
