[Q] the parameter is incorrect - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi guys, im quite having a problem flashing this phone using ODIN. it gives me an error the parameter is incorrect, can you please help me with this.
the history of this phone was hard bricked by my big brother after changing the kernel and doing a factory reset to it. he doesnt know that there is a brick bug on ICS official release. now the phone was revived by MEDUSA box by an old friend but now the problem is, it doesnt wanna flash firmware. it goes on download mode but gives an error. i am flashing GT-SI9100, firmware i tried to put on ODIN is GT-I9100_XSP_I9100DXKL3_I9100OLCKL2_I9100DXKL1.tar.MD5.
Any help would be gladly appreciated. tnx in advance

I think you better keep an eye on the thread you mentioned earlier. The rommaker is working on it apparently.

Yea, it sucks. He is working on creating a rom that will fix the problems. Something to do with kernel and MALI drivers. I dunno ...

[Q] Baseband version unknown

Well im keeping it short.
I wanted to debrand my SGS3 with odin3 so I downloaded stock Jelly Bean. I put the file into the "phone"thingie instead of the PDA as i got to know later. It accepted the MD5 somehow(device wasnt connected at that time). Somehow it flashed successfully. After that my system ran very instable and i couldnt see my Baseband version and codes in Dial pad dont work. Naturally all the stuff related to Baseband dont work:
I didnt do any backups which im regretting now. I hope there is a way to fix this; And if not: can i send this to the repair center in here in germany to get this fixed?
Thank you for your replies.
Try reflashing the rom - You can go here if you have any confusions about how to use ODIN -

Odin gets stucked while flashing

Hi guys,
I need your help.I want to help a friend of mine to flash stock jb rom.
When tried to flash the first odin stucked at hidden and the second time at system after changing usb port and rebooting the computer.
I found somewhere that flashing pit file then the firm may work
Is that because he didn't do a factory reset before flashing?
He's got an s3 I9300 with orange rom 4.0.4.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Flashing a pit will usually hard brick the phone. If odin is correct version, phone is connected properly and you are flashing the right rom for your phone then the worst had already happened, nand failure.
You are missing a lot of information in your post, what does the screen say in download mode and how did you arrive at needing to flash back to stock?

Write out exactly what the phone screen says when in download mode.
Did you disable Kies before the flash, sounds to me like kies interrupted the flash
I can't contact him right now.Is it sure that the phone won't go back to download mode if the pit file was passed without firm ? If not is it possible to recover it with Jtag ?
@slaphead20 yes I killed it from the task manager

Doesn't sound good to me. I would have thought it was a send for repair job.
As you've already flashed a pit I think you have a hard brick, all I can suggest is try this thread:

I will try that. Thanks all for trying to help.Appreciate it

All Kinds of odin flash fails!!!!

Hello,
I'm having a strange problem since I'd flashed Cyanogenmod 10.2 on my device. I was running smooth for couple of days and then suddenly it restarted and stuck on Samsung bootlogo. Whenever I'd tried to power on it was stuck there. Then I tried odin flash stock latest NG3 rom and the phone asked for pit. After this it's not working anymore except the Download mode. It shows on odin but when I try flashing anything it fails all the time. Please if anybody can help me on this :crying:
I had never have a problem of this kind while flashing other devices hundreds of times but this one.

@mistermish2000, I'm not a pro but I believe that your partition is corrupted.
If you flashed with PIT selected then you can try to use a recovery firmware for your device from XDA. That would be a last resort though.
thanks RazorMC. I tried with stockrecovery file with no luck, but can u suggest any recovery firmware for the I9300 version please. I'm also looking but if u know any that worked before please suggest. thanks again

No this is a sign of complete eMMC failure see this post >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/help/problem-white-screen-black-lines-rain-t2467459 << I have never seen anyone recover from this and I have seen quite a few posts with the same problem. Service repair recommended :crying:
Try reading the 'dead boot repair solution' thread in general forum, a repair shop with a z3x box will be able to tell you if the emmc is totally fried.
