I just did the 2.1 update and ofcourse i made an backup of my contacts before i did it. But now when i try to restore them, it runs up to 100% but when i go to contacts there is nothing!?!?
What should i do?
I have the backup SBF file stored on my SD cart if that can help me in any way?

I had to turn on gmail sync to allow the restoration of contacts.. Using MyBackup Pro.. Actually the backup app *****es about this when you try to restore contacts.. So after that, you contacts are synced to your google account..

Is there a app that will allow me to backup my SD on CN via FTP?
I want to schedule backups at night via a ftp server I have running inhouse.
I saw a few apps that would backup to a subscribed service, but I want to use my own servers.

Use titaniumbackup from market, it would backup all your apps and its data. YOu have to backup your photos/videos manually by connecting your mobile to pc, its the easiest way
Titanium backup for app data and apps.
For anything else, use a cloud solution like Dropbox, Box, etc. All have apps and you can upload all your content to various multiple providers to have more than 1 backup. As also mentioned save a hard copy to your PC.
SMS backup & restore for your SMS messages is also useful.

I have been starting to flash different ROMS, and what is the best way to restore data and apps? (titanium backup? Or something else?
It takes a while to re-download Everything from the Google play store.
I am on skydragon Rom with VZW.
I have titanium backup and also jrummy ultimate backup pro.

Personally I think you can't go wrong with titanium. It's a lot easier with the pro version. But as far as restoring apps you can't beat it.

Cloud services, augmenting locally stored zips and APKs for me. Choosing apps like Nova and ChompSMS that allow a local settings backup are key to the ROM-hopper.
Between a custom Gapps package, TBO, and pulls from APKmirror and some zips, I get most of what I need. As far as the data portion, that's where cloud services really come in.; often all that is needed is a log-in and it's there.
I should say that I am a productivity user, not a gamer.
I Used Titanium backup pro and flashed a new ROM. So far so good. thanks again for all the info

Tried to install lineage today (which went totally tits up) I'm now trying to restore my apps etc from Google drive done this morning but failing that too. I can't find an option to just restore it. I can see the backup in Google drive but there seems to be no option to get it back. Please help.
