[Q] Deleting Samsung Bookmarks from Chrome ? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I'm running 4.1.2 and have Chrome installed.
When I open chrome it always starts up on Mobile Bookmarks / Samsung Mobile
How do I delete the Samsung Mobile Bookmarks Folder ?
I've tried clicking and holding but this doesn't offer the delete option other folders have.
anyone any ideas ?
Thanks

Go into settings then apps find and Disable com.android.providers.partnerbookmarks

Thanks
That is sorted it.

Thank you too, I have this issue on my new S4 and you solve it

could've at least clicked "thanks" instead of reviving a four month old thread

Thank you
Thank you.

Is working for Xperia V also
Sorry to bring this up, but I confirm this solution is working for Sony Xperia V LT25i too.
There is an annoying Sony Bookmark.

Works for xperia SP
Works on Sony XPERIA SP also to remove the Sony Bookmark Folder from the Favourites in Chrome, very annoying as it was also the default boookmark folder with some useless bookmarks you could not delete. My phone is not even rooted.
Thanks for the tip.

Removing bookmarks

Hi all, I've got an Australian version of the LG P500 which is branded by the carrier Optus. In the stock android browser, there is a bunch of bookmarks installed by Optus which cannot be removed. I have rooted my phone and was hoping that there would be some way to delete these bookmarks through root explorer or some other means.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks
hey keyman, welcome to the forum XD I'm also from australia, but I bought mine from Crazy Jones XD Did you try holding on the bookmarks and a popup should come up asking if you wanna delete? Mine came clean, but I dont use the default browser, I changed to dolphin HD browser since it offers additional features in comparison.
Thanks for the welcome
Yes, I have tried that, but unfortunately there is no delete option for the Optus bookmarks. I am able to successfully delete my own bookmarks but not the Optus ones. Guess I'll just have to try using other browsers.
I was gonna refer you to a thread on whirlpool since I've read something similar... so there might have been a solution there, turned out it was you that had posted XDD
EDIT:
Since you've rooted your phone, is it possible to remove browser and reinstall it? I THINK the browser app should be available in marketplace, but check that it is possible to get it and install successfully before attempting.

i manage to get ride of those crappy bookmarks with SQLite Editor
after launch this application search for the Browser stock app then open browser.db then bookmarks table and mark with 0 in readonly column coresponding with bookmark you want to delete
after that you can delete it like your own bookmarks
Thank you so much for that! Worked perfectly! Finally got rid of all the useless carrier apps and bookmarks

I've been using this version of twitter for a while on my Galaxy Mega but have now gone back to my Xperia Z. Do you know if there's any way to get it working in the Xperia Z? I assume that it recognised the Mega was a 'Phablet' so let it run on that but recognises the Xperia Z as a phone and won't let it.
I just prefer the general layout with the swipe from left bit and how it functions in landscape mode so would prefer not to lose that.
PS - when I tried it every time I tried to open it just crashed.
Thanks

I have been using this app since last September on my Nexus 10. I have been worrying about if it is secure or not but because it is so good I have put that thought to the back of my mind.
Are there any updates for this Samsung Twitter app?

I dont like xperia album, any suggestions?

I dont like xperia album app. I am not able to Create a new folder even. I really like samsung gallery app. Is there a way to install it? Or do you know any other Solutions?
My Device is Non-rooted.
Try app called f-stop

I use an album called quick pic, you can "hide" folders which is handy because there is not a great deal I hate more than having album covers in my pictures folder.
Cannot create new folders though due to 4.4.4 sd write protection
Quick pic is very nice app, but it's really annoying when you have a lot of albums and you have to wait for thumbnails to load each time.
