Xperia Neo L weird screen problem, showing coordinates of touches

Hi,
I just got a Xperia Neo L about 3 days ago. Recently (since yesterday), my phone has been showing the coordinates of my touches on the touchscreen, along with the traces of my touches, variation of my touches, how much area i apply with each touch, and so on. Restarting the phone and resetting the settings didn't help. I don't really know how to explain this weird problem as I don't know of anyone having such a problem. Here are some screenshots to demonstrate (in the attachments). By the way I have no idea how this problem occurred, I was just using my phone, not installing anything or doing anything much of other sort, and then suddenly this coordinate thing happened.
Thanks very much for reading this post!

Xperia Sola Touch Screen Issues

I have an Xperia Sola having issues with the touch screen, basically it does not allow me to unlock it, I have to use the camera button and take a picture to do it, also, some parts of the screen are unresponsive some times, I read on the sony mobile official forum that this is supposed to be a firmware issue. Also when I try to personalize the screen like adding or removing widgets, you know you need to touch and hold until the widget options appears, that does not work, it will not recognize the touch hold, neither the touch flow works.
It appears the harware is perfectly fine, no screen issues like dead pixels or leaks.
Most people say they took it to the service center and they told them the phone was fine and updated the firmware.
The problem is that If I try to use the PC companion or the main sony website it says mine is using the latest version.
Even thou I reinstalled the official firmware, same issue.
My device is an Asian device, when you restore it, the menus are in chinese, So I'm assuming is a HK phone.
I live in Costa Rica and I know this device has a latin american version.
Does anyone has a firmware that is not the asian one for this phone, maybe I can try flashing another stock rom for this.
I will appreciate if someone can tell me what can this issue be.
Thanks.
And yes, I'm a noob and did not find any related topics about this issue in this site.

Xperia Sola
:screwy: Why so serious!!:screwy:
sola
hi,
me too is having the same issue.I live in India and many users here is also facing the same issue..There is no solid pointer to isolate if its a software or hardware issue. However there is a temporary solution to this problem and is testified by many people including me..all you need to do is keep the phone in direct sunlight for 5-10 minutes. It will work normal for couple of days depending on the ambient temperature and stuff. It will again recur ,all you need to do is sunbath it again
This is not a permanent solution..hope it helps
has anyone found the reason and permanent solution why this touch screen problem keeps happening again after few days ?
after giving the phone to service center has the problem reappeared for again ??
users with same problem with xperia sola touch screen issue

xperiA sola touch screen issue
i have some touch screen problem in my xperia sola
but whenever the upper part of phone screen dosent work i clean it with screen protector cloth and it works fine
screen become responsive without restarting the phone
i think screen protector might be the problem in your case.
thanks for the response. i do not think it's the screen protector because on every reset the touch screen works properly but stops working after five or ten minutes...i have a sony screen protector

[Q] Touch screen too sensitive

Is it just my phone or is the touch screen a bit too sensitive? All I have to do is hover my finger over the screen and it registers a touch - which can get old when you're typing. I only noticed it today though. Anyone else?
Turn of glove mode
Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk 2
same here, i also felt that it was very sensitive. i often accidently pressed something while scrolling - toggling glove mode did not really change a lot. got my nilkin tempered glass protector some days ago though, its perfect now with it
If you turn off glove mode, you have to touch screen to register, with glove mode on hovering your finger above screen is enough to register

That's the first thing I checked; glove mode is off. It was worse last night then it is this morning. About the only thing I did was flash back the .69 stock kernel to see if that made any difference. I know that between the rom and custom kernel, there are a number of customizations going on. (not insinuating anything about either - just trying to eliminate possibilities if this isn't by design). Plus I shot a mail off to Sony as I saw a few people on their support site mentioning the same thing.
OR I could just be OCD lol.
My long presses seem to be registered much much faster!

I know that's what it sounds like - but both of us have checked and glove mode was off. Anyway, I flashed the stock kernel (.69) last night and it's not so bad today. Whether there is any correlation w/ respect to that is another question.

I have the same problem as well since I opened the box ... And I definitely don't have glove mode on. This is the only complaint I have about the phone really. Otherwise, it's fantastic.
Possible solution
If this problem is still an issue: This seems to be a problem with most Sony devices snapdragon 800 and up. In the Xperia Z Ultra forum what we did to solve the issue was to root the device. Then use root Explorer then go to system>usr>idc>open "max1187x_touchscreen_" and change this line from "touch.filter.level = 2" to "touch.filter.level = 5". That's it. All that needs to be changed is one character. Seriously.... SMH Sony.

Problem still persists for me. Changed to 5, then rebooted, and i can still hover my finger and registers as a touch. I'm on Carbon though, is it stock rom only?
Edit: after a couple more reboots, it's working! Not too sensitive anymore. Can I change it down to 4 to make it more sensitive? Is it like a scale? But it did screw up some other things, xposed doesn't work now.. Will have to find out why.
Edit2: no I can still hover.. Maybe it was working, maybe it was placebo.

It is like a scale and 5 worked great for us. I don't know about anyone else but I did this on the stock rom. Maybe you could try 6 or 7? Definitely wasn't a placebo for me. I Couldn't even use both fingers on the screen at the same time without this mod. I just couldn't play games at all because everything would lean to one side just because of a little dirt or moisture. I could not even send messages and right now I'm typing this reply on my z ultra gpe.

Touch Screen issues #MotoXForce
Well I just got a Moto X Force ( Marshmallow 6.0) and I'm having an issue with the touch screen . It happens about 9-10 times a day . maybe more . and it's random from what I have noticed .Thing is , *sometimes* I would approach the icon of an app( or a button to click on a website) with my thumb/finger , and the touch is registered wihout even me actually physically touching the screen yet , not saying that something else opens up ,no, only that app opens up which I was about to , initially , but I'm pretty damn sure that a lot of times it has happened while my finger is still approaching the screen , I.e. hovering over the touch screen. Anyone here got that one ? Would be great if i can get some clue .
Thanks!!

Well , then , either its the firmare (Hopefully ) or that the screen is defective ( OMG Please no ) , will reset the phone a couple more times and see what comes up , maybe wait for an update from google on the software side , visiting a service center would be my last resort , people at the service centers in this country are more clueless than I am , they'd just try and wouldn't be able to do anything but damage my device further and wouldn't even claim they did it leaving me no choice other than to get a new phone , thanks for the concern tho !
Hi guys,
is this problem / random glove mode activated still exist on .575 ??
My Z2a (running on .575 MM ROM) still face this issue. Sad.
My devices is not rooted, so i can not try to edit screen-sensitivity related file.
This problem so annoying
