So if there new update i can just use the 'software update' button??

If the software got the OTA (Over The Air) option its possible, sent
me the link of the thread with the ROM you wanna download and i take a look.

he is asking about stock roms. No you cant get samsung updates if you are on custom roms. You will have to flash a stock rom again to unroot and get official updates

errrrr.....
If you are on a stock ROM you'll get software updates.
If you are on a branded stock ROM you'll get a branded software update.
If you are on a unbranded stock ROM you'll get unbranded software update from samsung.
If you are on a custom ROM you won't get a stock software update.
If you are on a leak stock ROM you won't get a software update from any kind.
If you don't read about how to flash a ROM and you will not get any software updates of any kind, because you might have brick your phone.

If stock unrooted get updates(because I had stock and rooted and when getting updates it goes to recovery(only show android) then restart and said failed to update)

Where to get stock Samsung ICS Rom

I have my s2 rooted with the stock Samsung Gingerbread ROM. I think ICS is now available through Kies but not for me because I'm rooted.
Where can I download the latest stock Samsung ICS ROM (is it called AOP)?

Even your flashing is done via Kies or Odin, you need to re-root your device. ChainFire supports rooting for stock ICS.

how to Downgrade jelly bean to ics

hi..m using jelly bean i9300XXLH1 and i want to downgrade to ics 4.0.4 any version for galaxy s3 can any body tell to do it....
odin back to stock.. or if you want to flash a custom rom then flash it how you would normally in cwm. format system, wipe cache/dalvik, flash rom, reboot

If you want stock ics..download your region specific firmware from sammobile.com..connect your phone to pc in download mode..open Odin..choose the downloaded firmware as pda and flash..for custom roms..follow the steps mentioned in the previous post..

LH1 is ICS
I had recently upgraded to jb and wanted to downgrade back to ics so i downloaded the rom specific for my country from sammobile and and flashed it using odin..... odin flashed successfully and rebooted and it is stuck on the samsung screen for the past 10 mins, removing the battery also did not help it keeps getting stuck at the samsung screen... any ideas

Boot into recovery an full wipe.
It should boot normally after

Yes, but any recovery will do for factory-reset. (There are others than CWM)

flash through odin
if stuck on samsung screen, access to recovery (missing how)
wipe data

to boot into recovery, whatever recovery it is either stock or CWM.
turn off the phone ( if it does not turn off by on/off button, just pull the battery and leave it out for 5 seconds),
press and hold with this order: volume up+ home button+ on/off(power button) and keep pressing until the logo. release power button and keep pressing the other buttons.
wipe data + cache + dalvik cache. reboot

Seems some want JB then no want JB then want ICS then downgrade and come JB release will be posting help i have no JB update .

well we downgrade in order to go back to LG8 and install a new OTA, even though we are using OTA's if we have (i.e) LI5 we cannot update to LI9 unless we're on LG8 which is the base, also for warranty purposes hehehe

Hi, Does this work for Galaxy S2 -I9100 also, as I would need to downgrade to ICS 4.0.4 from Jelly bean XXLS6 (Leaked Rom).

my wife is driving me crazy...she upgraded to jellybean 4.1 on her Samsung Galaxy 16GB and is now complaining about the lag time and that she misses the bigger keyboard. She wants to go back to the original ice cream sandwich that came with the phone.
How can I find out what version it is?

Root update to jelly bean

im very very new soo first hello to everybody and thank you for having me in your house :good:
my question is, y just rooted my s3 with the sunny room (0.51v) and if tomorrow samsung realease an original update what should i do if i want to upgrade my samsung to jelly bean
only put update? or should i do something before?

I think you should wait till tomorrow
Samsung updates will fail on custom rom. You need to flash to original firmware to get the updates.
Or just flash JB samsung firmware with odin when it's available at sammobile.

Mate....you REALLY need to do some searching and reading before you touch your phone.
You ask for 4.2.2 firmware.....it doesn't exist....4.1.2 firmware is the newest.
You can get newer versions of android in custom ROMs.....but....
SEARCH READ UNDERSTAND LEARN......THEN AND ONLY THEN...DO......

custom ROM
Knowledge will help to prevent you from turning your S2 into an expensive paperweight. It's no good providing links unless you know/understand what you're doing......

My question is how do i software update in settings "OTA" it says "No new updates" but my version is only 3.2!
its a Samsung Galaxy 10.1 GT-P7510
i want to update to the lates version.

Last version for your phone is ICS to get to Jelly Bean you need to flash a custom rom (there is no official upgrade after ICS and in some countries 3.2 is last one). I can guide you to install a Custom ROM for jelly bean or maybe KITKAT, Let me know.
