Hey guys, wondering if anyone knows if there's a file that displays the CPU temp. My ASUS transformer had one that you could 'cat' command in terminal. I want to monitor how hot my phone gets..

I use cpu temp v2...its a widget thats shows temp. Cpu speed. Cpu % usage and ram..... clean and minimal..

I actually found System Tuner Pro. It has notifications that tell you.
The device(or kernel) has a thermal throttle at 73 degrees Celcius. 1800 mHz got up to 73, then the phone locked at 1000mHz until it dropped to 60 celcius.
My phone using this app idles around 45 celcius.
**Edit- I tested with a full battery and CPU at 1400mV and the temperature got up to 80 celcius before locking at or below 1000 mHz.

try and see for yourself??
So far so good?
I really see no difference

because performance is maxed at set 1GHz - that's as high as it goes.
changing the minimum however, will keep the phone on crank even when not in use.
You can set profiles to underclock when the screen is off or when battery reaches a certain level to save battery life.
I do:
Battery charging; max 1000 min 100, priority 95
Screen off; max 200 min 100, priority 90
Battery under 50%, max 800, min 100, priority 85

Whoops, I totally misread the question and thread in general. That's what I get for going on XDA first thing in the morning XD

What is good temp ranges for both for our atrix while oc?
Seems like 130 degrees f is too hot for cpu

Im running faux's 1.7 kernel and ive undervolted with set cpu. My idle temps are around 44C for cpu and 33C for battery. Do you have a lot of background processes?
currently running aokp 29bigmemtest on my phone and recently installed nstools. im new to the overclocking stuff and wondering if anybody could give me some numbers to input on a good safe oc that wont crash or reboot my phone. simply want to make it run faster etc. thanks in advance

although that thread is for the i9000, not the fascinate. the settings they give crash my phone. so if anybody has a stable settings they have been using ?? if not, i guess OCin might not be for me !!!

The hardware is the same.. However they phone is slightly different. Try 110% live oc and 1200 max step.. That's a pretty safe start.. If you crash try bumping init for 1000 and 1200 steps by the smallest amount i think it's quarter milivolt
Sent from my SCH-I500 using xda premium
Max freq: 800. (1000 effective)
Min: 100
Live oc range: 400-1000
Governor: conservative
Live oc: 24%
It's basically stock speeds with a 25% gpu boost on the higher steps. Conservative governor keeps it from crashing. ;-)

that doesnt crash your fascinate ?? as soon as i hit ok for 24% oc its an instant crash.
It will crash me on the 1000mhz step but not on the 800mhz step. Set 800 as max prior to setting the live oc. In fact, set everything else first and then set the live oc last.

Ya trying to copy other people's settings doesn't really work all the time, all our phones are different! Personally my stable settings are 1000Mhz with a 110% LiveOC - rock solid.
Most phones do 110% with no voltage tweaks, but not all. And remember with huge live oc you may need to bump arm voltages as well, specially on higher steps. Think about it, 120% your 1000mhz step becomes 1200. So logically use the default 1200mhz arm voltage for your 1000mhz step as a start.. This should be obvious. And stock voltages on init are medium or low leakage.
These are close to high leakage
100 1000
200 1050
400 1075
800 1100
1000 1125
1200 1150
These are what i use with 110% and 1200 max
Low target 800
High target 1500
I can go higher using just a little bit of common sense and some math.. I have had 125% but got about a reboot a day. But you need to use common sense in your arm voltages. Init are not quite as important

My chip set sucks but I seem to have good luck and speed with:
IO Scheduler: Deadline
Gov: Smoothass
Min CPU: 200
Max CPU: 1200
oc: 108%
Target low: 400
Target high: 1300
Voltages
ARM
1500 1500
1400 1450
1300 1400
1200 1350
1000 1275
800 1200
400 1050
200 975
100 950 <---not that that one matters
INT
1500 1200
1400 1175
1300 1175
1200 1175
1000 1150
800 1125
400 1125
200 1100
100 1000
This set up is more akin to a high leakage phone with a bit more voltage to compensate for the live OC.
Will def check this out. Thanks

I never thought about overclocking or underclocking my phone under recently. I just got tired of the lag when I tried to turn it on from its deep sleep. I fixed that issue as the Min was 100 MHz and I just changed it to 200 MHz. Right now I have 1200 MHz, but has anyone every tried upping it up for a better experience? What Min Max / Voltage should I have to get a real smooth experience? I'm running ICZ.
When I run JB/ICS, I set it to 200 min and 1000 max with Live OC of 5-10%
Undervolting:
100 - 800
200 - 800
400 - 1025
Can't remember the rest, doing it by memory as I have Froyo at the moment.
Good battery life, smooth phone, what more can I ask for?
Lol actually i have set Max freq at 1000 mhz and also undervolted by -50 mV for each step.Buttery smooth for me
JUST HIT THE BIG THANKS BUTTON...

In JB I limited my frequency to 100-800 MHz and live OC is 100%. My phone is so smooth and long battery life (I think battery life depends on KA6 modem also)

How can you have a proper running OS with such low clock speeds? I pull it down to 100 MHz and there's a short lag when I turn it on from deep idle. On top of that, I need some sort of clock speed in case I multi-task or play games.

Deep idle is off and CPU governor is "Ondemand". Smartassv2 is also good.

Well its off by default unless you turned it on in one of the devil kernel apps.

Try latest version of SlimBean. Or try the Semaphore kernel, with its included app you can make some performance tweaks as well.
the 0921 Helly Bean is eating up juice quicker than my previous so I'm going to try the 200-800. We shall see if my batt stats get better.
I ran my cpu at 1.55ghz stable back in the day... ive been running it 1.2ghz since then

My CPU frequency stays on 1200 MHz which eat my battery a lot,and that makes my phone laggy as hell.PLEASE,could any body just hrlp me.
