s-on s-off - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

I rooted my Neo some time ago, but I'm not sure whether it has S-OFF. How can I check? Thanks.

I had my Neo in original GB. I rooted it using this Flashtool procedure: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1709880. And the phone is with ICS now.
May I unlock bootloader now? And how?

These are 2 methods to unlock Bootloader
1. testpoint - I used that and it's really simple
2. Officialy
I prefer testpoint so here u are --> http://androidflip.com/unlock-xperia-phones-bootloader-without-losing-drm-data-track-id-working/

I would say go for official one.. because it is easy and anything official is great

Thank you guys, these are very helpful.

Cheers and HAPPY NEW YEAR 2013!

Yess bro you are right.. but See basically once you unlock your bootloader and even if u again lock it, its in re-locked state and not locked state.. whatever it is.. once u unlock the bootloader you void your warrenty anyways.. so even if we lose DRM whats the big deal?
Because if that was the case then at first place we would not root the phone or unlock the bootloader.. we know what we have to face after doing it

No not always.. there are some roms wich u cannot flash having a locked bootloader.. but there are some.. here is the link for one..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1994064
This might help you.. for locked bootloader.. its a superb rom too.. dont forget to thank ghostfreak nb..
And yes, once you use flashtool, you will lose your warrenty.. cant help it there..
Hit thanks if i helped you..

lost DRM is not important !
You can repair your phone using sus whenever you want to by just relocking bl !

Yeah very much right..

It's not same.
lack of DRM certificate can easily be seen/spotted in service center, just by connecting phone to one program, which is not the case with "re-locked" or "un-patched" phone whose BL has been unlocked unofficialy via s1tool.

Well, if you flash fw for same region then there is no way to know that phone has been flashed with flashtool.
And if "you" are smart enough you will make backup ftf before you star messing with your phone.
Or smart enough to know how to trick SEUS or PCC to flash different fw, by editing build.prop.
Just FYI, my BL was unofficially unlocked, flashed so many times (though before service center I flashed it with correct region) and they replaced my motherboard with no problems.

So who ever put DRM in the first place was stupid, right?
That's your opinion, but you can't say it's not important.

No, it will flash fw for same region which you have on your phone at the moment.
Only locked bootloaders can update through sony companion or bridge for mac
If you have unlocked ur bootloader, you can easily search forums at XDA to relock ur bootloader and get updates from sony !
Is there any difference between serial no. xxxx-xxxx but same region
Is there any trick or something that it can flash back or repair to my original firmware?

I think you can flash central europe as you can remove more apps without root.
I am not sure if it has the asian language. I am currently using Singapore firmware which contains chinese and japanese keyboard.
In my opinion, if you are not planning to use custom ROM, you might as well wait till ICS released for rooting purpose. At that time, there should be a way to root without unlocking bootloader

I'm using German as my primary language
So I think the central europe will work..
Well.. actually I'm planning to use a costum ROM..
But its just a plan.. I haven't see all of the costume ROMs here..
But I think I'll wait till someone made root without unlocking bootloader possible.
Thanks for your answer

Nothing bad cause it is allowed from sony itself
They speak that you will loose the drm key or something like that but I don't know what is useful for.
Don't worry,For warranty reasons you can lock it again.

but u wont get the DRM key again..
as far as i know (if im not mistaken) DRM key is useful for warranty,
if u unlocked ur XS, then you void your warranty..
anyway, ive unlocked my phone and rooted..
so this thread can be locked

Untill now,
root can only be achieved by flashing pre rooted.img via fastboot..
If u want to know wether ur phone is already unlocked or not, try unlocking ur phone via fastboot like what u did.
On the cmd will be written,
'"Phone already unlocked"

U have to unlock the bootloader to use flash, then you can relock it again after the firmware+stock ROM installation.. XDA has a thread based on it. Be sure to check it out =)~

1) there is a relocking bootloader. Tft file which relocks your bootloader only { DRM KEYS WONT RETURN}which will help you to bypass Sonys altered software error while updating it through SEUS or PC Companion n you can update your device without any problem to latest firmware....
2) No performance change is noticed rather the performance wil increase if you using custom roms...
3)it works only for Xperia 2011 device

Hi for now, there are no known ways of rooting the locked Sola bootloader.
There are successful methods for this on ICS but not gingerbread, for now. I have tried so many.
Thanks for replies. Thread moved to the Q & A.
so we w8 ICS or FXP its like a race! xD
I got tired of waiting and crazy rumours so I did it, unlocked myself. I wanted root that much. Plus, I read B4anry explain in a comment exactly how Sony treats locked/unlocked bootloader, depending on what you've done, and I think I'm safe. He knows his stuff obviously!

Xperia U - Boot Loader UNlock allowed : NO

Boot Loader UNlock allowed : NO
And now.... ?
I really woul like to make the root like in mine Smasung S2 is that possible ?
Can you help please friends ?

You only lose warranty if you unlock the bootloader, but if it says its not allowed then you cant do anything. But you can root anyways, its not necesary to have unlocked bootloader to root, if you need root there is one easy way, i cant post outside links because my account is new, just google mgyun vroot, enter the first option and download that tool, then you only have to plug in your phone with usb debugging on and click on the green button then just wait until it finishes. I hope this helped you somehow.

I think he said he got it rooted. Not change the status from no to yes
its possible to set the unlock bootloader to YES
but you will need to contact Sony and give them some information and such.
