ok thank you ....got 85Gallon..I was downloading from laptop..is a .zip file from my Razr it is an apk. thanks so much..
im having the same problem!! the link SAYS .APK , but when i download it it is a zip file. i cant find the 3.11 .apk anywhere. what am i doing wrong??
Just rename .zip to .apk. They are interchangeable depending on what you want to do. For example if I want to edit an APK, I'll download it, change it to .zip and extract it, do my editing, rename it to .apk and then sign it with zip signer and install.

+1 I agree can someone please post a copy of the stock memo apk. I downloaded color note from the market but I like the stock one best. I wonder why TW didnt include it in nero 5.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
you don't rename it.
on computer you extract it, go into system and you see the apk
it won't let you install on phone by just clicking
put on sd card
go to astro, or root manager
move the memo.apk to system/app
done.
you need to extract the folder with winrar winzip whatever then there is a folder with the apk in it. copy it over to your phone under downloads or where ever you want to put it. then install.
edit: just did all that i said and when i tried to install the apk it says "application not installed"
just did what u said, even rebooted, and still don't see it

read the post above.
you have to move the .apk to system/apps
because memo isn't a regular app.
got the same thing. used astro, place the apk in system/apps. nothing happened. rebooted, still nothing. then even tried using the app manager in astro to install it and it says "there is a problem parsing the package"
Link no longer working... could somebody upload it again please ?
thanks

You can just use Roman's Bloater if you like.

I've tried this with MIUI (1.7.22) on a SGS Captivate with no success. I have flashed many roms and installed/sideloaded many apps over the past 10 months. I know I'm doing it right, as I have 'installed' other system apps by moving the apk to /system/apps and fixing permissions and ownership. Has this worked for anyone on a MIUI ROM?
Another related question would be - is there a way to export the notes from the stock memo.apk?
Is there some places where I can find all the stock tones for the SGS2 as one complete zip, or each folder as a individual zip so I can download them?.
And if not, is there then a way for me to either find them on the phone and copy them over, or as the last resort is there some way for me to extract them from the image files we use to flash through Odin?
Any help or hints in relation to this is more then welcome....
And thanks in advance.
Use Root Explorer some other file explorer by which you can have access to all directories.
Navigate to /System/media/audio
You can find "ringtones", "notifications", "alarms" folders. Copy to wherever you want.
i am not rooted, can some 1 up load the sms, notification n ringtone.
Download any official (based) rom and extract them yourself from the zip. Same location.
I have them, PM me your email address.

Didn't mean to jump ya but:

Already had them.
These are NOT flashable, i could probably make em so but I already had them all zipped. What I do is just put them in the GAPPS so everytime I flash a new CyanogenMod the audio gets copied in as well.
that link is dead

I am not sure about CM10 but when you want to flash files in CWM, you need them in a flashable ZIP file, not extract them!
exactly what chris said leave the .zip as is don't unzip the files and transfer it to your sd card now you should be good
While attempting to follow rr5678's Factory reverting instructions on downgrading the TP to 3.0.0 (after downloading all the files) I then came to the point of having to then install 3.0.0 through the downloaded Web Doctor .jar file but sadly its not a jar file but appears to be only the source pieces.
After searching endlessly for the .jar file I've about give up. Is there anyone who has the actual 3.0.0 jar file?
Joe

Thanks SStar but it is also just the source files. I'm in desperate need of the actual .jar version.
Or is someone could give me direction on what to do with these file (in the downloaded zip)?

It's probably the browser you're using . Try renaming it to. jar . If that doesn't work pm me and I will give you a link of the jar file that I have uploaded as a .rar file so you would need to unrar it.

You can also rename after downloading in the browser of your choice.
I'm trying to reinstall some deleted apps to my Verizon GS4. I downloaded the big zip file with all the stock apk's but am confused now since there's also a ".odex" file for most of the ".apk" files. Do I need to install both the apk and odex? If so, how?

You need the odex files.
They go in /system/app just like the apk files.

Thanks. The next question is about how I'm installing the apps. Typically, I've just downloaded an apk to the phone, clicked on it and pressed "install". If I do that, then what do I do with the .odex? Do I manually copy/paste it into the app folder?
Also, with some of the apk's, i get a "application won't install" message. Any ideas why? These apk's are all from a huge master apk download of all stock Verizon GS4 apk's.
