Bravia Engine For X8 GingerDX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Note:The Base files belongs to zdzihu. Thank him for those files and not me!
Note:Scripting is done in Edify so remember to us a Recovery that supports it.
Requirements:
An X8 running GingerDX)
A Working Recovery(ClockWorkMod 3.0 Highly recommended)
The amazing Mobile Bravia Engine from 2012 Sony Phones is now on our X8 running GingerDX .
Actually there are no big differences but it works as we can see better contrast and brightness ratios!
There is no Setting in the Display menu but I will work on it soon!
Procedure:
Reboot Phone to Recovery.
Choose 'Install from .zip file'
Navigate to this file.
Install it!
My rom is now launched and it has the working settings for both Bravia Engine and xLoud Audio Filter. This is the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2133086
Working great!
Thanks....

Bravia engine never was and will never be working on ARMv6 devices. Maybe those files of yours change contrast but its still not bravia engine!
These files are just extracted from xperia folder or you modified it?

If we simply extract it from the Xperia devices with Bravia Engine,I don't think it will work. Zdzihu in one of his threads released these files which worked with 2.3.3 roms. I modded it to work on GingerDX which is 2.3.7 ,I believe!

I can't say that it is the real Bravia Engine, did I ? You may be correct,Bravia Engine may not work on ARMv6 devices but this mod will make the contrast and brightness ratios better and you will be able to notice some changes in your pictures. Thus you will get something similar to the Mobile Bravia Engine!!

Guys if anyone want me to mod this Bravia Engine to any other custom roms running Gingerbread on the Xperia X8 or the Walkman W8 then please post a reply in this thread and also attach the "build.prop" file found in the /system directory here.I will mod it and post it here!
I am not that quick so you will have to wait for a few days as I will be doing this on weekends only!

My Bravia Engine is not having any problems with its files,I have verified it .
You just added those lines to MY Bravia Engine's build.prop. First of all just read my updater scripts and build.prop carefully. I am not replacing the default GingerDX v29 build.prop with this build.prop,I am only adding those lines to the default build.prop.
Your method of adding those lines aren't supported by some custom recoveries now so that's why I made it like this.
Guys my Mobile Bravia Engine works fine and there are people who have proved it!!!

Without adding that, you just flash sh*it in your phone!
2010matej,
Have you ever tried to flash this mod and then see what I am talking about?
You first flash this mod and then just go to your system\build.prop
and just see for yourselves whether there is the lines that you told in the build.prop?
First test it for yourselves and then complaint to me.
At least see how many users said that this mod is working.
You are simply posting nonsense!

Yes I did try. Your post is nonsense, because here is the old one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1267929
And just replace build.prop and works on gdx v29
To get a working bravia engine you need 3 thing:
One: the used rom must be contains the java implementation (swiqi service and few other java classes)
Two: the image enchantment profiles (the two file in /etc in this zip)
Three: an app what use it. Only one app exists what use it, the original SemcGallery. This app have another dependencies (drmmanager classes from API level 11 or higher, etc) AND FINALLY: the color conversions routines written in C/C++ (libbmpcnv.so), and compiled with the neon instruction set. (disassembly the binary and you can find several vector processing instructions).
If you check the bravia engine on any 2011 xperia, you can see: the difference is big. Not extreme, but visible. The bigger contrast with any bravia engine mod on x8 is placebo.

It does not work at all for x10mini.
Sony Bravia seems to work!!
It appears that the Bravia engine does make a difference to the screen, however, I'm not sure its for the better or not. Everything looks very high contrast, and the colours seem a little darker.
I installed it through clockwork recovery (included with Naa kernel v2) and everything seemed to install fine.
The xLoud seems to have Edify scripting and won't install through CWM so looks like a revert to Xrecovery will be required, however, I don;t think I'm that bothered.
Can anybody else confirm this? And will it affect the already desperately sensetive battery life?
Take care. This seems to be made for ginger dx v14. It also broke my wifi with minicm.

Pretty sure that is the issue, after all this replaces the build prop you have with one based on gingerdx...
I think copying the files and adding some lines to build.prop and settings permissions manually should work.
The question is what needs to be added to build.prop ? Just the two lines at the bottom ?
[Edit] or try this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1246402
This doesn't change build.prop, but adds the necessary lines.
[edit2] see this for xloud: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1269778
At the bottom of the first post is a file with instructions for manual installation, this should also work.
after apply xloud: eq, dsp manager does not work

Yes!!! It seems so, I should have done more testing! Also, the bravia menu does not appear, although the effect seems to be working.
I will restore my CWM Backup, analyse the build prop, then add the effective lines to the zip and see if I can get it running on Minicm. Will keep you updated!!
Edit:
Ok, After restoring, it seems that I was just being optimisitc haha
I think I had my 2am glasses on when I tried this out, and in comparison, there is absolutely NO difference in the screen or colours!!! I'm so sorry for over exciting anybody!!!
I will ocntinue to test regardless, but I'm not getting my hope up yet!
Tried installing xloud manually it did not work
It seams that the apk in the zip does not install, even after moving to system and changing permissions to rw-r--r-- and changing build. Prop,
I think its signing issue because if I click and install application manually it says "application not installed" :-(

It's cool that basically every mod for the Arc works on the Ray too.
I wonder why the Ray still hasn't gotten real support while the Arc has all sorts of cool stuff for it. They are basically the same phone, the only difference I can think of is the front camera in the Ray and automatic led flash on the Arc (and of course the Arc is bigger but the screen resolution is the same).

"flash [miuisettings.apk link] first

So I think you probably have it backwards. Also, after I flashed overclock.zip, flashed miui1230.zip, and installed the miuisettings.apk, that miuisettings app doesn't work.

Hello peeps, I am using Smart Xperia ROM by danisariandi on my Neo V
To make this rom even more beautiful, I would like to present my Smarter Smart Settings with Dolby Digital Audio, CPU Control, Power management, Location-based WiFi, Bravia Engine2 mod, JB styled SystemUI (with preferences) and my LockScreen Style
Whats new??
Updated V3.5 with Dolby Digital setting + new SystemUI (with preferences) + power management + on-screen navigation buttons + NXT style framework + 100% true Jelly Bean framework animations and last but not least my new LockScreen Style app (more stable)
I modded settings.apk of Smart Xperia rom and added CPU Control,Status Bar Preferences and LockScreen Style.
Dolby Digital Audio lets you enable/disable dolby sourround sound.
CPU Control lets you overclock/underclock cpu to control your cpu usages and save battery.
Status Bar Preferences lets you configure your new SystemUI (Xperia T style status bar).
Power Management lets you save your battery.
Navigation Bar lets you enable/disable on-screen navigation buttons.
LockScreen Style lets you switch between new AOSP lockscreen (JB style ) and Xperia T lockscreen.
and 100% true Jelly Bean animations. :fingers-crossed:
Hope you all like my mod :good:
Screenshots are at this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=35554145&postcount=1
Note:
1.You have to install NXT LockScreen and your framework should have AOSP lockscreen (if not then install my mod with framework) to switch between AOSP and NXT Lockscreen otherwise LockScreen Style mod will not work properly.
2.You have to edit your build.prop to completely enable Bravia Engine2 on you device.
Change these lines
ro.service.swiqi.supported=true
persist.service.swiqi.enable=1
to these lines
ro.service.swiqi2.supported=true
persist.service.swiqi2.enable=1
3.This mod works with almost all stock based rom but LockScreen Style app will only work with Smart Xperia ROM (or rom that has AOSP lockscreen mod). Try on your own risk

Does this mod include deep sleep?
Hi,
What devices should it work on? You've mentioned you made it for Neo V and this is the section for Mini, Mini Pro, Active, Ray, Live etc. so I'm a little confused about the supported devices. Need this info for a potential portal post.

works fine in my Neo V and other 2011 devices.
Do followings steps:
1. backup ur original settings.apk
2. copy settings.apk from my mod and paste it to /system/app/settings.apk
3. set permissions as rw-r-r.
4. reboot device.
do all the steps for all the files in my mod and paste them into their corresponding directory and reboot. (Don't forget to backup all the system files which you are going to replace with my mod or take a complete backup of your device).
BTW I'll update my update-script later so that you can install my mod via CWM.

All 2011 Xperia devices, except Live with Walkman, already include Bravia Engine in the stock firmware published by Sony.
