Hi All:
I found that the touchwiz msg app supports backups of the threads on your phone... Cool right?? Except I flashed Jelly Beans Build 4 this morning and when restoring the messages the phone is unable to read the file that it created. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Thanks in advance!

Last night I was trying a few new ROMS so when I backed up each ROM using android, I change the filename of my original ROM and the new XTRROM 4.6. When I went to restore my original backup, I received an error. So I tried a different backup and received the same error.
The error message was error : run 'nandroid-mobile.sh restore' via adb!
It weird because it only shows an error with the two that I renamed.
THanks for any help.

That should tell you something right there.
When you rename the folders, don't use any spaces or special characters in the new name; use only
- letters a through z and A through Z
- digits 0 through 9
- underscores, dashes, or dots

All I had to do was remove the space. I guess I got frustrated last nite and was not thinking.
Thanks for the speedy reply and help.
Hi all,
I have searched in the checkrom thread and here but failed to find anything to solve my problem.
i did a wipe before flashing to checkrom 2.0. after it finished installing. i loaded up kitchenpro n was prompted to update it. thereafter i selected restore user data & ticked the sms. but there wasnt anything restored. i checked my filesystem n the backup files were present.
so whats wrong?
Ok its now working. a possible reason is perhaps my phone now doesn't have a phone signal after I installed a font pack, circular battery theme & Swype 3.0 from kitchenpro. my Sim card is now not detected, so a new problem is created...going to check whats wrong.
I just restarted my phone and the signal came back. Not sure why it wasn't there the first time it rebooted after installing the add-ons. Weird but its working.
Am running: CWM-based Recovery v6.0.1.5
Rooted with SU method.
Rom: Resurrection Remix JB 3.1.2 with CM10 kernel
Having problems restoring a recent backup with CWM recovery 6 as this stops half way through saying:
com.android.renderscript.cache
com.ratebeer.android
files
DATA_Preferences
DATA_Tiles
DATA_Tiles_1
Segmentation fault
com.ratebe
Error while restoring /data!
Md5 checksums are all ok and there are no errors on the SD card.
The full logs are here on pastebin and being a noob I cant link to them. However if you google the topic title you should come across the thread with links on Cyanogenmod forum. I'm not sure how active that forum is so I thought I'd post here see if anyone could throw some suggestions my way as pretty desperate to recover this backup and not have to factory default. Thanks in advance!
Ok so I found out from a helpful chap on CM forum that the data.ext4.dup file has some erroneous lines in it where they get truncated from being too long. Apparently editing these lines so they're no longer truncated works but now I'm having SD card problems :/
He also mentioned in the latest CWM recovery 6.0.1.9 this problem is fixed. Currently looking for this but cant find it anywhere for SGS2.
i have micromax a110 and i have successfully root my mobile and install CWM using of this thread "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2204785".

what happened friends ?
please help me. i want to install new rom on my mobile.
I tried to dualboot stock 4.3 with carbon rom 4.4 kitkat then i get error code 7 for outdated recovery and i got an error saying unable to mount preload then i restored my carbon rom backup and still got the same issue at the end after restoring data, but everything is working fine. Was there something important in there? I am constantly getting this error and it's annoying, this never happened before. I'll attach the log.
