I reset it back to stock but when I go to odin it still has the flash at 1 any more ideas thanks

Chain fire has the app triangle away but I do not believe verizon version is supported yet. That app clears the counter. What triggers it? I unlocked with casual and rooted. Then flashed clean rom. When I check my counter it reads 0 and everything says official.

Triangle away worked for my gs3.i don't know it it will for the gn2.

you did not say anything about flash counter except for your thread title...to get rid of the yelly triangle you must odin back to stock, to reset the flash counter you must purchase the app triangle away from play store.

When I look at the app details verizon I650 is not on the list. Does it still work for us? Reason why I ask if you read app instructions it says that the app could hard brick your device. That makes me nervous when my device does not show supported. My counter still shows 0 and official but I figured this app will come in handy or at least support chain fire.
Or since we have our bootloader unlocked it is possible?

You're not the first person to get a bootloop by flashing that unroot. The files you will need to recover your phone are in the download repository linked in my signature.
I couldn't download the file from the GalaxyS2Root site. Could you please open the tar file and list the contents back here so I can see what's in it. I think it might be only a zImage, but not sure.
Gee, if only you had spent some time searching and reading...
Ok I got it to pass the screen with the samsung S2 Gt-I9100 with the triangle and flash a custom rom. But when it rebbots why does it still load up the same gt-i9100 screen?

How about using a jig would that get rid of the triangle on startup?
Don't use Jig, your phone will blow up; I think. I remember a thread on here about using a jig, you should look for it before proceeding any further.

Yellow Triangle..

Hey sorry if I've posted this in the wrong area . But it is a question. Has anyone used the free yellow triangle removal tool with success?
I have the triangle but have read the warning that comes with it and its slightly putting me off using it after all I don't want a £500 paper weight.

I've used it several times zero problems.
That's not a guarantee though! I suppose there is an element of risk.
If you're not happy using the app get yourself a jig.

I bought a jig of tbay but it only drop the phone into recovery mode .. does not remove the counter or the triangle ... i was told the jig only works on older kernals.
Ive got the latest CWM installed dont know how true that advice was but it wouldnt work hence me asking if anyone had used the removal tool .,
Thanks for the relpy though
Yeah you need an older boot loader for the jig. Check intratechs thread in original android development.
But seriously the app has worked flawlessly for me

Are you talking about the yellow warning triangle when i9100 boots up?
I have that too, and always thought it was normal.
A USB Jig shouldn't be forcing your phone into recovery mode, it should force your phone into download mode. Anyway, it won't reset your flash counter because you probably have a new bootloader. I had a new bootloader and had to flash an old bootloader through Odin in order to reset the flash counter.
Chris.
Cheers guys I've now sorted both custom count and the triangle using the free app ...many thanks for your input gately appreciated guys

Rooting the galaxy and skins

Hey I have a question for you guys I read somewhere about something called a flash counter which gives information to samsung that you have tampered with their rom (when they check it of course). So my question is by using SGS3 toolkit 2.0 does this happen. Let's say I have problems with the phone will the warranty still be valid. Also about installing skins. Do I have to root in order to install let's say the ICS Domination.
Thanks in advance and sorry for asking such noob questions

I actually have one more question. If I decide can I "unroot" the phone, just get it back to factory settings without Samsung finding out I had messed with the phone.

Downgrade from Lollipop to KitKat

Maybe I am old and cranky and just dont like new things but I dont like the changes in Lollipop.
Is it ok to downgrade back to KitKat or will I brick my phone?
I have the Sprint Note 3
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hmm... I only downgraded to reinstall the oc5 ota. I never even checked or installed anything with nk4 downgrade. I know others have done it though so... Maybe reflash nk4... Wipe data, take ota, wipe data again, and odin nk4 again. That's about all I can think of man. Sorry you're having issues. I wonder if you can odin back to the one right before nk4. I think it was mc5 or something like that.

I am a high level user but Samsung has fracked it up as usual. I did NK4 a few times (ODIN)....then immediately did hard reset....the trouble with this process is that I need to root to use WANAM to get back that OFFICIAL Status...and that seems to be the issue. If you leave it on CUSTOM...OTA will NOT come through. Even KIES is not reporting it right. I am totally baffled. This is Samsung not Android that is ****ing it up.

I cannot simply just ODIN NK4/NH7....because my the firmware says CUSTOM....so I have to get that back to official. And the only way that seems to happen is to do a WANAM Framework hack. Am I missing something here? Doing an ODIN of firmware never seemed to change the status back to OFFICIAL (it did on my NOTE 2....but not on the NOTE 3....) they hacked something into the firmware I guess. How do you get back to OFFICIAL state after you do the ODIN? Sorry for my frustrations...I wanna smack Samsung makers right about now
----Maybe flashing a custom rom and then going back to stock via ODIN? Would that reset things? The thing I think I am missing here is the way to get it to say OFFICIAL so I do not get the OTA message saying your phone has been modified in unauthorized way....blah blah....and will not let me get the OTA.

Before. You may also have an incorrect tar. Try doing a reset, then the odin. If that doesn't do it you must have an incomplete tar.
