i was messing with the stweaks to uv etc....now when im using cpu spy, i noticed that the clock speed is staying at max, whether it be 1.6ghz when over clocked, or 1.4 when not overclocking or even 1ghz when power save is on. the phone refuses to go on any other frequency. not even deep sleep.
ive reset stweaks, un installed it, uninstalled all other over clock apps i had. nothing changed, i even re flashed siyah kernel. but the cpu refuses to go back to normal. did i mess up my cpu permenantly???? help please. running latest omega rom btw

Oh lord, don't freak out.
What's your CPU governor? "performance" ? If so change it.
did a factory reset. once the screen is on it goes into max clock speed with no apps running in the background. the phone deep slept for about a minute. any suggestions?

ive never changed my governor from pegasusq
so i've wiped everything, from data, preload, sd card, dalvik cache, battery stats, re flashed the omega rom. and currently using the stock kernel. phone is fresh with no bloatware. even removed the sd card. took off wifi and data. eventually the phone took about 7 minutes before it finally deep slept with the screen off. it continued to idle at max cpu setting even when the screen was off. after 9 mins. it idled with the screen on at 200mhz.
could this kind of instability be caused from UV and the stress tests before? if thats the case, what should i do? just leave the phone running for a couple of hours? does this mean the cpu is damaged (sorry for panicking) but i have 2 weeks left on my warranty. should i restore original firmware and carry it back to the shop?
Use BetterBatteryStats to see what is keeping the phone awake. Media scanner can cause this at times, I'd leave the phone running for 45 minutes then wait to see if it calms down.

whats up forums? I'm just wondering about the longest UP time you guys have on your Xperia X10. For me the 2.1 stock rom lasts up to 140 hours before the phone becomes laggy and bombards me with FC's. After upgrading to the FreeX10 beta4 Froyo release, the phone will last about 2 days without any major issues (after that I will get random reboots)... Currently, I'm on wolfbreak's latest rom and the phone's never been this smooth and snappy before. it has been 3 days and counting. (no FC, no reboots)How about your phones? How long can your phone go without rebooting?
Mine i shut down every 3 days cuz of work. We arent allowed to have nice phones on shifts lol. But if its longer i dont usually have an issue. But if i do the only thing i get is my phone stays at 3g and or phone is too laggy to run. but it's not that often that it happens.

i switched to launcher pro and the lag seems to be less frequent =)

My settings were:
Main screen was: Max 768, Min 245, scaling ondemnd
And 3 profiles:
screen off - priority 85, Max 245, Min 245, scaling ondemand
battery <29% - priority 60, Max 384, Min 245, scaling ondemand
charging - priority 50, Max 998, Min 245, scaling performance
title says it all really everytime my phone is around the 30-40% range it drops suddenly to 19% always to 19% and I have no clue why I've calibrated, wiped and did a restart while plugged in battery pull and still nothing.
Any suggestions?

Try to see which applications are running and what is more consumundo battery.
And also recommend that you calibrate. Me, whenever I do this procedure, I have a good improvement in autonomy.
Does this happen across different ROMs? You might have a bad battery.

Use Better Battery Stats and Watchdog Lite to see whats happening. In watchdog lite u can set the cpu percentage max to be 20% so that anything going beyond that can be reported. Usually works for me.

I think it might have been the state my battery was in when I flashed the first time because it hasn't done it yet and I was rom surfing last night nothing out of the ordinary happened I'll report back after work tomorrow that should be a good enough time to test it out

Hi,
I have been using the same ROM (cm9.1.0) for about a month now, and just yesterday I realized I was getting horrible battery issues. Nothing has changed recently so I'm very confused. When I look at the battery option on settings, I see the phone process taking 62% of the battery life (when you first open the screen it's called sec-ril then changes to Phone), compared to the screen which is at 15% and everything else which is at 4% or less. Battery life is absolutely horrible now for a reason which I don't understand. I am using UCLF6 on 4.0.4 but I don't know what would have caused the recent change. I would post a screenshot but my screenshot thing is apparently not working at the moment. By clicking the phone process it says "CPU Total: 3h17m14s, CPU foreground 1s, Keep awake 2m 34s, Included Packages: SIM Toolkit, Phone/Messaging Storage, Phone). It may be helpful (or not) to know I have probably used the phone for 10 mins or less the whole day and all of the texting I do is done through Google Voice (as well as most calls).
Thanks if you can provide any help.
I think its obvious you have apps keeping your phone awake. That one was a real head scratcher.
can someone tell me how to fix this all I did was make one phone call that was less than one minute and didn't do anything else and this happened

Try rebooting your phone first and see if it persists. Then repost your battery stats by kernel wakelok.
from a galaxy far far away....
I have started seeing this(sec_ril process draining my battery) too. Sometimes only. Did anyone figure out how to fix it permamnetly.Wiping caCHES fixes it for a few days and then it comes back. I install nigtlies by wiping everything including internal sd card
I just had this start on me within the last day, day and a half, Phone is using 100% CPU forever. Rebooted, checked APNs, etc... Going to try clearing cache although AFAIK that has nothing to do with such things, might try reflashing...
Well, I don't mind eating words sometimes. I had rebooted a few times which didn't help, but wiped cache in TWRP and sec-ril has stopped its nonsense.
Mine started doing this a day after installing CM9.1. I literally have nothing installed on my phone. 20 minutes of usage after being fully charged and it's down to 83% battery, with "Phone" using up 61% and Screen 23% (I'm on minimum brightness). Wth :/
Hi,
I'm off to a festival soon and usually I have to bring 2 standard fully charged batteries and a 4300mAh anker battery to get through because all the ROMs I use seem to drain my battery, idle or not.
I have rooted my S3 since the beginning, going through a ridiculous amount of custom ROMs but now I'm starting going back to stock would be a better option. I've been using an iPhone 5 recently and was absolutely amazed when I fully charged it at 100% and then 2 hours later it hadn't dropped a single percent, granted it was locked the whole time but if I did this with my current S3 then I would of lost probably around 10 percent.
Can anybody recommend me a good ROM and tell me how much battery they're left with when they go to sleep/wake up. Approximately I will lose probably about 35-40% during the night.
right now i'm using the latest version of android revolution on my i9300
Stay on sammy based roms if you want better battery life, and if you want, stay on stock for stability, just fully debloat it from all of samsung crapola and install for ex. boeffla kernel. Kernel is the main succesor for good battery life in my opinion.
Then try playing with the kernel in boeffla settings, if you stick to zzmoove governor you'll get max 1% drop overnight (that's 8-9h).
Also to mention, all apps are greenified except Facebook and Whatsapp, WiFi was on but sync, gps, bluetooth etc was off, aaand battery is 1.5y old.
P(r)oof:
When i wen't to sleep round 1AM it was on 71%, in 9AM it was on 70%.

I had boeffle before but didn't alter the default governor, just changed it to zzmove/zzmove battery so going to charge phone to full and see what drops I have, thanks for the tip
Mine is -100mv on blu.spark and Ashwin's CM13. Never had any problems with this voltage.

I'm always using - 100 undervolt.
Sent from my ONE E1003 using Tapatalk
I'm stable at - 95
-100 was unstable for my OPX
Working on Swell-V8... I'm quite happy with this setup
It depends on individual phone. Subjective
Here is my setup. Using Boeffla's kernel and his app. Also, with this uv profile there are no more overheatings. The phone stays quite cold even on gaming and stuff like that.
-75mV overall. 100 was a bit unstable, maybe 90 could work but this way I'm completely safe.
As I already said, I'm on -100, but I still have high heating... 55°c when playing Minecraft for 20 minutes.

Did you undervolt to an overall value or different for different frequency? In OOS, I had freezing even with - 25 mV.

How do you do that? Once i tried, hit one wrong voltage, and phone never booted to system.

Patience. You find the lowest for each in 25mv increments and from there tune them. It's tedious. Obviously if you enter a random voltage then it don't work. If you don't entirely unfetdtand PLEASE read up on it or you will fry your phone
Currently at -100 to -125mv on Boeffla. No fc's or reboots since I started using these voltages.
-100mV on BluSpark kernel, no freezes, no reboots.
If you use Kernel Auditor, "Boot on system start" gets activated several seconds after the phone has started, so you can revert any errors in normal cases.
I can go -60mV, no more on bluespark v128.
If i go more than -60mV, i get reboots sometimes after 12hours or after 2-3 days
