I got my TF201 back yesterday from Asus after 1-2 months after I sent it in to see if anything can be done about the cracked screen issue... nothing.
The first thing I did when I got it back was update apps, backup apps, and then I decided to install 'AndroWook Prime Hairy Bean', so I downloaded it onto my Prime, went into ROM Manager, found an update for ClockworkMod, which I installed. I then proceeded to select the ROM to be installed, ticked back up current rom (Cyanogenmod 10 Unofficial), and wipe data, and clicked enter.
When I opened up recovery, it came up with TWRP, and did nothing, so I went to backup my ROM but didn't have enough data.
I tried to re-install an older ClockworkMod as I prefer it, and tried to connect with fastboot, and then followed instructions, but got a bit lost... (I'm 13..) Tried again, failed..
This bit is a bit of a blur, but I believe I tried to open up Recovery again, didn't work so I loaded up an app (Transformer reboot to Recovery), which hung on loading up recovery, did Vol-Down and rebooted..
I think it was then that it displayed the Splash Screen and hung, with 'The Device is UnLocked.' in the top left corner, ASUS logo in centre and NVidia Tegra bottom right..
Researched online and found no results.. I don't have NVFlash, but I'm curious as to whether this will work: androidroot .mobi/2012/05/27/introducing-wheelie-nvflash-for-asus-transformer-tf101-b70 as my laptop displays APX.
I appreciate any responses, this is all so daunting for me and I don't know what to do..

I don't like the sound of this. If you flashed an ICS recovery on there (which I think you have with clockworkmod) after having the jellybean bootloader on there (which I think you do because nVidia logo is bottom right) then you might be hard bricked.
Hold down power and volume down for 10 seconds when off. If you do not get to the screen with icons on like usb icon and wipe icon and you cannot enter recovery then I'm afraid you are hard bricked.

Did you have any luck getting to fastboot? If you failed flashing clockworkmod you might still have a chance.
Not that I know of.. just recognises APX on laptop..
Looks like you are hard bricked. As you said you don't have NVFlash so APX mode is unusable for you (you have to have files generated just for your device to be able to use APX).
If you could get into fastboot, you could have change of fixing it.
You can send it to Asus to have it fixed and pay for it ~260$ I think - look somewhere on Q&A forum, or sell it as bricked to someone who has broken his screen on ebay (or other site). Or you can have it as pretty expensive paper weight, sorry.

I really hate to hear that this happened to you guys. FYI: a bricked Prime usually goes for between 150 and 200 bucks on eBay, depending on its condition.
I know that's not fantastic news, but at least you could put that towards a new tablet.
Or you could naturally pay Asus to repair it.

I did
1. Prime Full wipe
2. Installed Androwook hairy Bean 1.51
FYI - I can still access both TWRP and Fastboot..Im on JB bootloader

I just unlocked and installed Androwook1.51 last night. No problems once I realized I had to wipe data since my prime had been encrypted under stock 4.1.1 But I figured that as long as I could get into TWRP I was probably OK, right?

Oh.. It has suffered from the cracked screen issue and I've broken the Micro HDMI slot by tripping over the wire :L
How much would it cost for those two to be fixed, along with the splash screen issue?

In short: I currently have a bricked Transformer Prime TF-201, which only lets me boot into APX mode or shows the ASUS logo.
Long version:
I tried to flash CWM Recovery to the Transformer via fastboot, which didn't work. Flashing went okay, but booting the device in recovery mode was impossible, it just loaded forever. Then I tried to flash the TWRP recovery image, which only worked with one specific image. Because I was curious why the CWM stuff did not work, I flashed it again, and then unfortunately made a huge mistake: I used the last option of the boot menu (something like Wipe all data, etc.) from Android, which basically tries to factory-reset the device, and tried to boot into recovery mode, which of course does not work.
Now, everytime I start the device, it apparently tries to automatically start the recovery mode or does something else (without showing log messages, meh...). Holding the power-button and volume-down does not have any effect anymore, which means I can no longer access fastboot to fix this.
The only thing I can reach at time is the APX mode.
I have a few questions regarding this situation, first of all:
1) Does anyone know a method to get out of this? (I haven't activated nvflash, unfortunately)
2) Is the APX mode usable for anything without the previous steps?
3) In case there's nothing more to do, has someone experience in how Asus reacts if I send the device back?

You have to have your device specific files to nvflash to work.
You can send it to Asus for RMA - they will replace board. You will have to pay for out about 200$. After RMA there is slight chance you won't be able to unlock again.

i had the same promblem,no way to do nothing without nvflash,i returned back to asus where they changed moderboard or something like that and thank God they did not charged me for anything. good luck :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

I just got off the phone with ASUS Directly and My TF300T Is in a boot loop no recovery no adb no fastboot, i told the rep at ASUS i unlocked it he said no problem we can flash an updated JB Android O.S. to Your device get it back to You within 7-14 days at a charge of $87 so stop lying to people MOBO Needs changed my A** Your dimwitted and NO ASUS has not changed policy in the last 6 years either stop spouting crap and get on with helping us that have semi bricked devices dum nutzzz good god almighty, and btw i have the device in transformer Prime APX mode yet its not a prime and regardless of the crud your spreading like a nightmare virus, there is no apx instructions to be found online... so rma it they flash the os in factory and iam good to go after i pay $87 bucks, NOTE TO ALL: Your device is not junk UNLESS when you go to turn it on it does NOT 'then' call it bricked and a new mobo would probably cure that too, ps njoy your multimedia XPerience, and dont listen to ANYONE THAT SAYS CRAP like the ubdertoned fool did new mobo lol haha your missing a cog or bean in that brain fooooooo ewllllll cheeerzZz...!...:victory::good:

I have classic problem
I bricked my TF201 due my fault..
I did unlock bootloader via official asus apk, then i performed CWM recovery flash via fastboot..
Everithing worked fine, but after Wipe, I have bricked Prime..
Now I get is a screen with the Asus logo
Fastboot doesnt work.
APX mode does work.
- I tried to search everywere and nothing, solution "drain battery" doesnt work..
- Hard reset or factory reset doesnt work
- I have APX & ADB driver on PC, but ADB driver not recognize my prime
Is there any possibility, that I unbrick my Prime via APX mode without enabled NVFLASH (and without blobs backed up )?
Or is there any other solution please ?

You think with as many people that have bricked a prime in this manner that there would be a fix by now. No such luck... I'm sorry to say, but you will need a new motherboard my friend. I've been searching for one for the better part of 3 months now, to no avail. I feel your pain.
I'm keen on a brick fix too; I wasn't aware I had bricked or was even close to brick it until I passed the point of no return.
I was trying to update the rom to something stable just so I could flog the piece of junk as well..
Worst Android product I've ever owned. My faith in ASUS as a company has plummeted to the point I will never consider another of their products again.
Is there no way of flashing or tricking the device into booting something through apx?
No kind of hardware adapter than could be used to access the chips?

Pls post any new information here in this thread. There are like thousands of people bricked their Prime neither getting into the bootloader nor saved the blobs before.. everyones waiting for a solution
I think no remedy will ever come to this problem.
only if Asus will release some kind of "keygen" or "decryptor" that works with the s/n or in any other way,
it will never happen (like it has with the Acer t3 based devices).
it will take a very powerful developer/mathematician to solve this if at all.
I'm really desperate from this.... and I hope someone is working on it, who knows...
no bootloader only encrypted ****ty APX. thats why next time Im buying a Samsung with this Download mode that

I recently unlocked and rooted my device. Asus Transformer Prime (TF201).
I tried to boot it into recovery, wouldn't boot the rom, kept freezing, hard reset it. Then it booted into the official android version, I was running 4.1.1, build # 10.4.2.18
Then I went into recovery, and I was like "oh yeah, I remember reading that it has to be a fresh install, that way there's no incompatibility". So I decided to press the down button until I got to erase everything in the menu, I did it. Erased it, device reset itself, and now it's stuck in the main loading screen, where it says Asus, this device is unlocked in the top left, and the nvidia symbol in the bottom right. The device wont boot into anything, not even recovery settings. Is there a fix? Or did I just make my tablet a paper weight?
I tried searching the web, I found all these articles, and frankly I'm very overwhelmed, and didn't know what to do or which one to read. I just got the tablet as a Valentines Day gift from my wife, and I would have to have ruined it. Please help me.
EDIT: I got my device to appear as "APX" in devices and printers, it's an unknown device. But I'm still lost.

There is only hope, if you can manage to get into bootloader screen by pressing power + vol down.
APX mode would only help you, if you had pulled your nvflash files.

Hi, u can follow the steps listed in this blog. I just installed CM11 using the same steps over the weekend. U need to perform a factory reset and wipe the cache after u installed the ROM using the CWM recovery. If not, it will be struck in the boot screen with the arrow going in circle. Below is the blog address:

My TF201 stucks also at bootscreen and the recovery menu (Power on + Vol.Down) won't work. That means I'm not able to get in fastboot mode or something like that. The only possiblity to switch the device off at the moment is to unplug the battery
I've searched for a solution in many boards, but unitl now i haven't found anything.
At the moment it seems that the only possibility we have, is to change mainboard, or to try to connect via an external programmer (for flashing the memory), but that would be for sure not the easiest way, or it could be also nearly impossible.
So at the moment I'm praying to god, that someone will have another solution and will post it here, because otherwise I can cast away my loved transformer prime :crying:

No, thats the problem, since yesterday it is not possible, because I tried to flash back to an older version of TWRP, and since that I can't access RCK and then I tried to wipe data, and since that, I even can't access to recovery console (Power on + Vol.Down).
That means I can't do anything at the moment, I see only the asus boot logo and that's it.
So I have no idea to communicate with the tablet at the moment.
The problem was, that I was not really careful, because my opinion was, that it's impossible to brick the whole tablet, but now it's gone!
Is that the end of the story, or do you know therefore a solution?

Seems that you are in APX mode. Hope you have your blob + nvflash and wheelie to restore the bricksafe.img. (It saved my TF when i was in your position)

Unfortunately unless you have nvflash backups then you will have to get the board replaced. Forget contacting Asus as they would charge you more than the tablet is worth. Try and find one with a smashed screen on ebay etc cheap that still works that you can swap the board out from.

So, I'm im at a loss here... I haven't done anything to my phone today other than turn on the Webserver at Boot function in Adaway, which I'm guessing is the culprit here... but based on my inability to fix that, which I've fixed Xposed issues before, I'm not confident.
so I'm bootlooping on LG screen primarily, phone was working fine next minute it was off and wouldn't turn on. Took battery out, etc... thought it was the batteries at first, charged both fully, continued troubleshooting. Rebooted a few times it'd boot, show my unlocked Bootloader screen, continue as if going to TMO screen, back to LG screen.
So I tried to boot into TWRP via Factory Reset method. I follow the prompts and then the screen locks, randomly the bootloader unlocked dialogue reappears.
Computer previously recognized device via ADB, now it does not, even with updated drives and ADB/Fastboot. Had the device install itself a few times when plugged in, did not help.
I was able to boot into Fastboot one time, while in there I thought maybe it's an issue with TWRP, so I reflashed TWRP 3.0.1 through fastboot and ran fastboot with the twrp image command... screen locked and nothing happened.
I'm not sure what to do at this point without Fastboot being accessible through computer or regularly through manual method. TWRP is pretty much,... man I don't even know where TWRP is at this point it hasn't made a single appearance in this troubleshooting session.
Any ideas I'm missing?

If you can get fastboot working again try to just boot twrp rather than flashing it
fastboot boot nameofrecovery.img
Other than that try using lgUP to flash rooted MM if you can get pc to recognize phone

hey bud - thank you for responding. I actually by the grace of god, just got my phone to boot into fastboot mode again. It wouldn't even turn on since I wrote this post so I've just been browsing for alternatives. Literally on the LgUp page as we speak thinking that's going to have to be the route I take even if I lose all my data... at least I won't have a brick. I ended up using a method I've been trying all day, it's weird how it's hit or miss on when it works... held volume down and plugged in USB, not sure why it's working randomly even tried other computers, ports, cables... anyway thanks !

I Knew i was going to leave something out, if I flash rooted MM, couldn't that make things worse if I'm on TWRP for LP. I'll read the instructions on the up page, but at first glance I didn't see them talking about specific recoveries like on the eliminator thread..
You can follow toungkick's method and flash the .tot and kdz to get rooted mm, this will include the proper recovery
Choice is yours on the method but this way is smooth and rooted MM is great on this phone
But yeah, data will be wiped,
If you manage to make it into recovery you can try and dirty flash current ROM on top (no wipe) and see if that fixes things first so you don't loose any data

I'm honestly losing my mind over this one, I've gotten into Fastboot several times but never long enough to flash much of anything. LGUP won't recognize device and the method to get it to recognize the device by removing the battery isn't work. So I tried manually flashing images in Fastboot and also tried Nexus Root Toolkit as a last ditch effort.
The further I've gotten is flashing TWRP again, and reflashing a boot image...
Believe it or not I just booted into TWRP, it wasn't easy at all but the phone finally went through following the factory data reset method... I was in there for maybe 7 seconds and then screen went black and phone powered off.
I'm getting to the point where, since it fully booted once, booted into fastboot, booted into TWRP, I'm not convinced this isn't hardware related? But I'm not an expert there.
The only way, literally that I can get it into Fastboot is to take the battery out entirely, hit power a few times to drain it, hold volume down insert cable... the screen comes on with the battery indicator but it flashes a red question mark and I simultaneously throw the battery in while holding down volume... and fastboot boots right up ... I only have a few minutes each time and even though things are successfully clashing (I also erased the cache) nothings working.
I was in TWRP long enought o know that it appears all my data is still in there, was hoping to get to Xposed to delete... maybe I'll look into the xposed uninstall zip and see if that helps but really.... wondering if my batteries got screwed up somehow with these new cables I'm using. never read anything quite like this one
Closing loop here. Phone bricked for sure. Got replacment on warranty. Back up and running rooted MM tho with jun method.

What happened to the original phone?
Phone died on me, and now I'm stuck on the LG logo. Not actually fully booting.

I was never able to get it to boot. Even tried flashing through lgup and it would never make it through.. I took it to tmobile and got it replaced through warranty. Cost 5 bucks. You can manually boot into fastboot or download mode and flash images if your phone will stay on long enough
Im afraid my phone did the same thing. Ive done all of what you mentioned. I guess i have no other choice but to go to T-Mobile and exchange it. You say it only costed you 5 bucks? How is that..? I thought after you void its warranty ... U'd pretty much be stuck wid ****.???

I found this page (https://guidebelajar.blogspot.com/2015/12/guide-to-flash-bricked-bootloop-lg-v10.html?m=1) and am currently in the process of 'refurbishing' via LGUP.
I was able to get into download mode using the following method
"Now turn your LG V10 H900 (AT&T), H901 (T-MOBILE), VS990 (VERIZON) phone off, then click continuously on the up volume and connect your phone to your PC, "

Man I'm sorry I must have notifications off... It was covered though the manufacturer warranty so they only charged me 5
