Hi all,
I just bought a second hand nokia lumia 800.
It original owner got it from nokia as a dev gift.
Everything seems to be working except for zune, which is giving me the error: "connection error" and it saying me i have to restart my phone.
I did everything i tried to fix it like:
rebooting phone and computer
factory reseting the phone
reinstalling zune
trying other usb ports
trying other usb cables
trying other computers
running admin mode
Apart from this i tried everything google came up with.
There is something curious: a fix suggests i have to remove something from the certificate manager, but it's not there.
I already asked the seller if i could get my money back, but he doesnt believe it's the phone (or that i destroyed the phone myself).
Does anyone have a solution to this.
I really want to listen to music, else im forced to sell it (which will be difficult because of this bug).

i have the same problem too. i've tried search everywhere. but couldn't find any single solution.
I have exactly the same problem.
I just bought Lumia 800 from Saturn German Bemen and I cannot get it connected. I tried 3 computers and I also have HTC HD7 and Samsung Omnia 7 and both of those phones are working fine on these Zunes and computes. Never had these problems with those two phones.

Same here, arrived today and cannot get zune to connect to the phone.
The solution is the date.
If you change your date time to tomorrow it works. I think it is a problem with the leap year.
@xGDI:
tnx, that worked

Thank you Bro, you just saved my life! I was going to trow this phone (bought today) off the window..Thank you!

You can change the date by right clicking the date&time at the right bottom of the screen in the taskbar (or whatever its called).
Additionally you can try to look it up on the microsoft site (google is your friend).
I also noticed that the drivers arent correctly installed if you install zune before connecting your device for the first time.
So you may wanna try removing zune, connect the phone and give it some time to install the drivers, then reinstall zune on your computer.
Zune/microsoft also have a free livechat that you may wanna try.

Maybe the issue you're having isn't leap day related, you may just have a corrupted certificate. Try following this tutorial

Hi guys,
I got my RAZR last night and have had a look around today and i've noticed that i'm getting the above error message when attempting to check for an update.
I've had a look around and cant find anything useful, any ideas?
Update: Moto were updating their servers it seems, once I was able to check again the update was available straight away..
Do you have data signal at the time?
Try to check, when connected to wifi
Happened to me before, then new OTA appears the next day. Maybe Motorola is updating their OTA files?

Let's hope so!
I tried it with wifi on and off, definitely had a network connection (and a good one!)
Odd.
Right on queue - Update is available!
Enjoy your update.
I posted back on the 26th that my prime had "updated" with a new firmware, at least that is what it looked like.... until it rebooted on the same .21 firmware that I was on prior.
Thread was here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1674370
Let me give you a play by play of what happened after some further investigation.
Woke up and grabbed the prime to check weather and schedule for the day, figured with all the talk about possible updates, I should check. Showed that an update was available! I yell out "finally!"- the wife asks what I am so happy about. I tell her that I am currently updating the prime to get us off of the gawd-awful .21 that she hates so much. She has been waiting just as I have for the update since having a poor browsing and gaming experiences since we got our first prime.
The prime goes through the download process- I go to the settings area to look at the build that I am currently on-- this is the standard .21- build from march. I complete the download that the prime reboots, shows our buddy the android getting his guts re-arranged just like every firmware update shows while the update is applied. The wife is standing there waiting for it to complete.
It reboots, she starts using it, says that it seems stable after browsing for a little bit. I jump into the forums and spread the news. Demandarin asks for a screen shot since he is not showing an update. I pry the prime out of my wife's hands and go to see the version--- SAME FREAKING VERSION!! NOOOOOO!
Posted the screenshot and ask if anyone sees a version of anything that has changed-- nope. Now I am really pissed and wondering what happened.
So now I start investigation into what happened and why. I look at the device tracker to see if they saw me download and apply the update-- nope, only shows the date that I originally downloaded .21:
2012-03-29 23:17:11US_epad-9.4.2.15-user to US_epad-9.4.2.21-user
So I keep digging and find out that it just downloaded the exact same .21 that it did at the end of march! The firmware that it just downloaded has a new date/time stamp from may 26.. but it is the exact same file.
Just thought I would post to see if anyone else had this happen on .21- or if anyone has any idea how this could happen.
Samsung did the same thing with their updates on my TV, I would go look and see a new date and think a new update only to find the same version number and same fixes.
Hi,
Does anyone have any info or idea if the AMBER update will be available OTA for L920s with the DEV ROM? I don't see that entry in the update schedule page from Nokia. I just chatted with them and they said they have nothing scheduled at the moment, and suggested instead to go back to my ROGERS ROM (not even in my wildest dreams!).
I know I can flash it, but I don't want to go through the pain of doing everything again, including re-setting all my apps et al. If the OTA update comes out in a couple of weeks or so, I don't mind waiting, but I don't want to wait and then realise in a couple of months that it is not coming out and have to flash it anyhow.
Any news? Do we have to start making some noise on Nokia's forums and social media?
Thanks.

In case anyone else is wondering, I started getting the update OTA last week. I wasn't expecting it so my connection was very slow and I just soft reset it... Apparently, the download got somehow messed up upon resuming. To make a long story short, after it was installed, the screen lock didn't work properly: I could only unlock my phone right after it turned on; after that, it would not respond at all, so I had to soft-reset every time I wanted to unlock the screen -the other option being deactivating the screen lock altogether, but that doesn't look very promising, especially for battery consumption and pocket dials.
As it turns out, I ended up flashing the firmware, which is ironic because I could have done it a while ago when it came out, but didn't want to go through all the hassle.
My only problem now is that some apps that should work, like Nokia Pro Camera, do not allow me to install them. My firmware does say it is the latest version, and it also identifies the Lumia Amber in Details, but the app is not available.
Has anyone else had this issue?
Thanks

Hi guys.
I'm quite new here so forgive me if I put the post in the wrong place.
Let me try to describe my issues with my phone.
A couple months ago I got a new LG V60 from my wife (brand new but without warranty).
The first problem I noticed after a few days was that the fingerprint scanner wasn't working properly. I mean everyone can unlock my phone after a few tries placing finger on the scanner at an angle.
When I try to unlock the phone by fingerprint it takes ages (it's very difficult to unlock the phone for the first time). I was trying remove saved fingerprint and create a new one but the problems is still there.
Another problem is with losing signal from satellites when using navigation. I was trying Google maps, Sygic and TomTom and it's look like the Google works best but there is still problem with signal, quite often I get information about 'searching position'.
Next one is that the phone is freeze sometimes and I have to restart it to work properly. It's happening around once a week.
I was trying hard reset but it didn't fix it, then I downloaded the original firmware with android 10. I don't know if it helped because I got lots of updates and it ended up on the Android 12 again. At the beginning of use after this operation the phone was working better but after a couple of weeks the same problems came back.
I'd like to add if I want to do a back up I get information like this "the required google certificate has been deleted". On Android 10 this information wasn't appearing.
Do you have guys any idea what's wrong with this phone?
Thank you in advance.

I also have the v600TM on Android 10. I have had no problems with the fingerprint except after the first time I unlocked the bootloader (see 1st post for the fix). I did not allow an update to Android 11 or 12. Maybe you should try the fingerprint on A10 for awhile before moving to 12.
Hopefully you don't have one of those Chinese refurbs pretending to be new!

Hi
Thank you for the reply.
Maybe you right and I should try to use the phone on android 10 and see if it's works properly. I'll see what happens.
Do you know when android 13 will be available for V60?
As a owner of the V30, V40 I'm really disappointed of the V60 now.

Hi,
You're welcome. When you are new to a forum or group, its like you are invisible.
My current main phone is the V30. The V60 has been more difficult than past phones to configure the way I want. When I installed TWRP a few months ago it was a DISASTER! Installing MicroG (to replace google play services) has also not worked out well. I have limited funds and I am beginning to wonder if the V60 was a good choice.
There is already an Android 13 beta for some versions of the V60.
The thing with V60 is that it is newer than V30. So a lot of fixes are not fully cooked. With LG gone from the scene, there is no incentive for developers to pursue it with any dedication. I don't know if TWRP will be fully built for this phone.

I do remember how slow the V30 was in the beginning. Now the V30 has a bunch of ROMs and an OFFICIAL LineageOS! I hope the V60 goes the same way. I doubt it, though.

I forgot to mention that I posted a possibly newer (than 3.6.0-11) version of TWRP for the V60:

Hi guys
It's me again with another problem
As for the above problems that I wrote about, I decided not to do anything about it for now and patiently wait for the android 13 update and see what happens.
How happy I was when two days ago I received the opportunity to download the update.
The joy did not last long, as it turned out that I'm unable to download the update.
Previously, I got information like 'The phone is being use and update will be downloaded later' (or something similar). Now the update downloads for a while and pops up 'Installation problem' and cannot be downloaded (always in the same time). I restarted the phone, deleted apps, changed from WiFi to mobile data and still the same.
Do you have guys any ideas what can I do with it?
As far as I know the phone is from US (T-mobile) and I live in the UK.
Thank you in advance for your help

How to check if the bootloader is unlocked?
As I said before I haven't done anything yet with the phone as I was waiting for the update but I'd like to check it, maybe the bootloader was already unlocked

When the phone is starting up (after being off or rebooting) it will say something like: This phone cannot be checked for corruption. Lock the bootloader.
If the bootloader is locked I suggest you backup before doing a factory reset.
