- 10 min on GPS usage everyday ( maximum )
- Playing Amazing spiderman 10-15 min everyday. ( Game lags, please confirm if it works smooth on GB for anyone )

What rom and kernel?
Sent from my ST15i using xda premium
I use Gingerbread ROM as it is faster, less resource hungry, more stable and more batt efficient then ICS.
Xkernel has THE best battery consumption in my experience for GB
I also underclock to 768MHz, and undervolt all freq by 50mV.
2days heavy usage. So with light usage it can go 4days easy. I think I really can't get much more batt life then this
Hey Guys ...
Ive tested each of the following ROMs for smoothness , speed , battery life , and bugs(if any) on my mango (mini pro)
i use my fone mostly for browsing, watching videos, messaging, using facebook, whatsapp, viber, skype etc at the same time... i dont play games at all!
Ive used MESA Kernel cos it gives better Battery life so ive started testing with that
ive used smartass v2 governor, and noop i/o scheduler... max freq- 1.018 and min freq- 134.
please press thanks on the individual review post if you think it accurately describes the ROM, that way we can judge the accuracy of the reviews. if your experience with the ROM was any different, please write about it and i will be more careful while testing any future updates. Thank You for your feedback

rage kernel suits with all
XMP rules!!!
in my test:
MESA Kernel: slow boot in XMP (about 1-2 minutes in sony ericsson logo), but is the only problem (i use it actually, for me is the best battery saver with good performance)
Rage kernel: if you dont like slow boot or other bugs is your best option
Kernel Panic: works well, has KSM (i dont see any diference in ram use) and other unique features, but... it has CWM 6 and is buggy (especially with aroma installers and usb mount) and applications like cpu spy doesnt work properly :S
Extended Stock kernel: is the same as stock kernel...
Mesa all tha way.........
thanks for ur feedback ppl
im gonna try MESA coz i really need battery life ! ill see whether the bugs are bearable .. otherwise ill switch to Rage !

Real ICS Lite r4 reviewed
ok so m done using real ICS lite r4
it is a very smooth and fast ROM ! noticed very very few lags n stutters. its always lags a little when u move really fast in the gallery. but no1 really moves that fast so that dosent matter.. also sometimes the icons on the widget take a sec to load when u press the home button .. they load up quite fast so its not that irritating. but if u hav too many widgets it myt take a lil more tym i guess. din find any major bugs ...usb otg works fine. this is faster than the AOSP ROM i was using earlier!!
the ROM has a the Xperia launcher with corners and it looks really good (though we cant see the corners in landscape).. its fast and responsive. notification panel has quick seetings and a brightnes slider too. u can choose to install sony apps while flashing through aroma installer (very noob friendly). though i wish
the details of each option were mentioned in the ROMS post so that i kno what im choosing (screenshots).. for example if i knew that the walkman bootanimation had sound along with it i woudnt have chosen it,..
charged the phone to 100% and didnt touch it from 11pm to 5 am .. and the batter came down to 94% ...thats 1% per hour. but on moderate usage through out the day the battery gave up at 7 30 pm ...
on the 2nd day of testin battery lasted from 9 30 pm to 3 30 pm the next day...fone was connected to wifi 65% of the time and on 2g for the rest
the battery life is pretty good i guess... can only say after i chek the other ROMs out as well
i just tested temple run n it runs super smooth with no lag at all...
quadrant : 1429
antutu : 3491
U can test out the ROM urself and dont forget to thank the developer kobzar666 !

Ok clean fast and smooth jellybean good idea
I have an important question:
how can choose between performance of roms ?
benchmarks ?
here is my experience
on your sperience rom antutu gave me 3200+ score while 3d was about 960 and etc...
on hyperbeam cream it gaves me 3400+
that mean ICS is better even 3d on ics was 1100
but the performance of gaming was worst !!!!
so how can we expect a bout jelly bean ?
is it better than ICS (on this way)or such kind of the same ?
actually everyone needs performance beside of visual not reverse
can you explain.
thank you

Your theorie is bad.jelly bean has parts that make it 40 - 60 % faster then ics.there is a high possibility that jelly bean, and the sonys jelly bean, will be significatly faster then ics.
EDIT:i had 4400 on antutu without any tweaks,only oc to 1.6 ghz.STOCK ICS 587

Like shadik already said jb is now even smoother and faster than ics but its not fully stable yet, about gaming, its the panic kernel that gives you a great benchmark score, and gaming forme was smooth but sometimes it lags for a little time,gb was designed for our devices it gives us the best performance till now,but i think jb could be better if it gets stable

So performance give benefits only for games right ?
and for example when I scroll on menu in GB it is smoother than ICS.
I know that the frame of ICS is better but it is a bit lags and I think it is because of processor.

it lagged a little
I downloaded ram manager free from playstore

and phone became lagles.if swap dont work, then blow me down...

Heres my solution: install camera fix, freeze the not working cam and install gallery ics from market

I've tried a lot of GB and JB ROMs presented here on XDA. Very early on I decided to skip ICS, and so I cannot comment on ICS ROMs.
All of the JB ROMs I've tried (I have tried most but not every single one available here though) have given me problems one way or the other after heavy use. The common problems I've encountered are apps freezing, phone hanging and freezing and random reboots. My greatest fear is the phone closing down on me when I need it most. A reboot will solve all problems but don't think this is ideal. I'm trying out 1 last JB ROM (16 hours till now) and so far it has not displayed the problems I mentioned.
I really like the looks and functionalities of JB but I think I will have to return to GB if I want a 100% stable phone. Would like to hear comments and advice from those who have experimented with both GB and JB on their single-core phones. Thank you.

He wants to know about Neo V not galaxy S
Anyways @OP I'd not suggest any Rom in particular as you've tried many
But GB ROMS are supposed to be smoother atleast on our device and you may very well know the reason why it is so....
According to me, frankly such threads have no point as people state their opinions and support or favour a particular Rom and often some people go against this and results in an ugly quarrel! So next time, just avoid it and take these tips or advices on a casual note!

I guess I want to know what most ppl are using on their single-core cpu phones. So I welcome any and all comments. I've not had much luck with JB ROMs but it seems most developers here have moved on to ICS/JB. There aren't very many current GB ROMs available apart from Codename (as far as I know). Even Codename may end at X (current version) according to Emann. I'm still trying out one last JB ROM and if that doesn't work out I guess I'll be going back to GB.
AW: GB or JB For Neo V?
I have a Neo and using FXP 207 jelly bean with fusion kernel v4.5 (480p version)
And everytgink working fine ive flashed all sony media apps walkman with equalizer
Downloaded the xperia Z theme
Ive deleted unnecessary apps from system and ive flashed the gapps in light version (only 30 mb not 88mb)
So i can say i have alot of ram free (about 150mb)
It runs very smooth and i can play games lag free for example temple run 2 and asphalt 7
And battery life is also good ( for me 11 hours medium usage )

send from my mt11i with cm10 unofficially (TheDarkDefender build) on fusion kernel 4.5
I had been trying out my last JB ROM for 2 days and I was really liking it. I did a lot of travelling yesterday and all the time I was playing Subway Surfers. The game ran smooth the whole time and I thought the ROM was to be a keeper. When I got home last night the battery only had 30% remaining. So I charged it while I had a bath. After a couple hours it was fully charged. So I removed the charging cable and thought I'd resume Subway Surfers. For some reason the game was very laggy. Rebooted the phone and the game was still very laggy. I always seem to have problems with JB ROMs after a few days of use. I know a lot of people have gone weeks on JB ROMs and their phone are still smooth and fast. Don't know what I'm doing wrong. Anyway I have now gone back to GB.
Hard luck mate,my 4th day on the Aosp Rom polish blood by Mike
And still things are fluid!
No lags encountered so far! Best I've used so far I can say

I also think that Mike's Polish Blood is the best JB ROM at the moment. Unfortunately, my Neo V doesn't seem to like JB of any flavor.
Am also on AOSP JB polish blood, its my 5th day & its still running super smooth, no lag at all.. Best JB ROM available for Xperia neo V..

For the last 10 days i have been using KangXperiaProject with my Neo V
With Fusion 4.3 kernel.
Whoever uses their latest build (milestone-r2) will not regret it.
Excellent battery (i once got 6hrs of screen time!)
Excellent performance (no need to overclock)
No, and i mean NO lags.
No bugs.
Plenty of free ram, I have always ~120mb free, and i have viber, swiftkey, weather widgets, nova launcher etc...
All that is lacking is HDMI and 720p recording, for which i dont care!!

I've gone back to my "big" wife - Codename. It does exactly what I want it to do. And no surprises.
But thanks to your post I've been reading up on the KangXperiaProject thread. It does look like a great ROM and I'm beginning to get the itch to try it. For the time being, however, I need some stability.

RAM usage depends on the firmware and ROM. Lower Android versions naturally use less RAM.
Which ROM is the lightest on RAM usage? No fancy features needed, just NO LAG

Cool. What about the newer ROMs?
I have tried many roms for our phone...
MIUI is great interface, but it slows down the phone (at least the rom I tested), so I changed to a 2.3.7 more stable rom.
I wonder if 4.4 will work ok on this phone... someone tried any 4.4 rom?

Thanks for the info Avinash, which rom are you using? Is that rom works for both Locked/Unlocked devices?
I'm asking it, because my bootloader is locked...
BR!

if u want the real power use LX cm10.2 (a bit stabler than 11) it has the best ram management with mostly 150-180 free mb ON normal usage (no task killers just doing nothing ) its so damn smooth GB will newer reach. its the 1st time my friend can play dead trigger lagless on his ARC as he told me (hes a gamer im not) sometimes i just look on ram usage from interest and even even have 200mb free even if i not closed any app (like said i just use the rom not messig around with silly tweaks, only thing is i locked my keyboard to ram & use grennify )
