First off I want to say that this site is amazing, over the past week I have learned so much off here. So to all the moderators/developers "Here's to you Sirs"
My question involves the Liquid Smooth JB ROM. I love the ROM but Im having some issues. I did a lot of research before I even attempted to root my device and install anything (my wife actually told me not to lol) Anyways I rooted and installed the Clockwork recovery touch. Moved the ROM and Gapps onto my external SD, and installed both. Had no issues. After a few days I went to move some photos over to my SD and now my phone will not recognize my external SD. It doesnt show up in any of the explorer apps I have, nor will Clockwork recognize it. I tried to hook my phone to the computer to see if I could find it and it doesnt show up there either.
What do I need to do to get my phone to recognize an external SD again.
Also my 2nd not so important question is, does the liquidsmooth ROM support 4G LTE? Before I rooted my signal icon would show as either 4G or LTE, now it only shows H+. I did a speed test and it seems like Im getting the same 4G speed its just not showing as 4G. Is this something in the ROM or something with my phone and can it be fixed.
Thx in advance for any info regarding either of these issues.
Not sure bout the first but the second question...ur answer is H+ is the same thing as 4G...just different icon...not sure why it changed on you but its the same

It's a long shot ...but the above link is a complete ICS leak rom for this device.
The source link is older, but several other users have pushed this file and restored function to the sd card.
The image contains the full PIT file structure, baseband etcetera, and will restore the device to complete stock.
Flash counter excluded of course ...but that's easy.
You likely have partition damage in the #4 partition, which houses the other 4.
The device has 5 total, and something causes damage.
I personally think that CWM is doing the damage, but I can't prove it ...yet
If you are willing to take a long shot, then push the file by using Odin.
It should work...but as always....you do this at your own risk.....as STANDARD DISCLAIMERS APPLY....g
I am having this same issue. Except I am using AOKP JB and TWRP recovery. External SD worked fine for about the first month with AOKP. Then at random it started to dismount its self. I would get notifications of a bad or damaged SD card, or unexpected removal of SD card. Reformatted, didn't help.
That lasted a week or 2, then it stopped completely and just like OP, I can not locate my external sd by phone, or computer, its like the slot is empty. That was months ago. I kind of gave up on it.
I will probably be returning to stock and having the device replaced under warranty anyway, due to my USB charging port failing.
P.S. This is the 2nd time I have had a charging port on the note go bad and be replaced under warranty...
If I flash that ICS ROM and it restores the SD card can I then flash back to the JB ROM? I was kinda tired of ICS. I'll keep looking around but I may have to take it back to factory and reset flash counter so I can just get a new one. Would getting a new SD card work?

Test your SD card first, before doing any work on roms.
If you flash the ICS leak, it will take away root, and you will have to push CWM back too the device via Odin.
After that, you can flash any rom you wish.
This leaked build is a full build, and will restore stock function to the device anyway, (minus the flash counter) and is a good test when searching out partition problems etc.
But yes, do the SD card test first....g

Sounds like you need a new SD card. Some of the stock cards don't play well with MTD based ROMs. I would probably get a Class 10 microSD card (be careful if you get 32gb, there are known problems with some of them)
I bought http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-microSDHC-Class-Memory-Adapter/dp/B0058GH4U0/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1335980268&sr=8-12 and have had no problems at all after!
You are flashing the THS build 2 first right? You have to flash that rom, then reboot to recovery by holding down the power button wile your in the OS and select the recovery option after that you'll be in a compatible version of CWM. Flash AOKP M5 from there.
I rooted, unlocked, loaded a custom ROM. I ported over my #, and it went HAYWIRE. Now I cannot use my phone. I am able to get to the teamwin screen, but I have no roms or backups to load. What do I do?!
I do have a SD card.
When you're at teamwin you should be able to mount your internal sd card and then hook it up to your computer via usb and drop a rom on the internal card.

This is exactly what I'm trying to do.
Unfortunately I just realized I gave my dad my SD card. He will be back in an hour.
Anything I can do now? I see a "mount" option but it's asking me to "reformat"....
Internal sd should be your built in memory. I haven't installed a recovery on my LTE yet but I've never had this problem on other phones.

So my dad rushed over and it's installing...I put over freEvo and it said failed, even after wiping cache/etc. Now what do I do....
Also while I'm here, does anyone know how to install things to SD card instead of internal memory?
When looking at the internal memory, the external sd is mapped to the 'ext-sd' folder.
My suggestion, read some more, then read again, then read instructions a third time until you fully understand what you're doing. Look at some youtube videos of the process too. If at any point along the way you're scratching your head, stop and rewind.
Assuming you actually transferred the rom to the sd (internal or ext), you're simply not pointing to it when flashing through the recovery.
Saying something failed isn't saying a whole lot. If you want useful help, you need to be much more detailed. What completed successfully, what exactly failed, when, what were the steps to duplicate, etc.
Put your phone into the boot loader.... Run the ruu and let it go back to stock... The root your phone again.

Have you tried doing a factory reset yet? a lot of times that's all it needs if you're on a stockish rom
Evening and thanks for reading my thread!
I am a new user to Android and just picked up my Galaxy S3 today. I already read some information and decided I wanted to theme my Android device, just like I did with my old iPhone 4. I wanted to install the Android Revolution HD ROM. As per suggested I used the SuperWipe zip first to remove the stock ROM and then wanted to install the new one. I forgot to pick up a external SD card at the shop today, so I thought I'd wipe the phone using SuperWipe, connect it back to the PC and put the 700MB Revolution ROM on the internal memory card and flash it from recovery mode. However, now I can't seem to get my Galaxy S3 connected to the PC at this point.
Is this the result of me being a dummy or am I doing something wrong. I had the intention to pick up a SD card tomorrow, however I'm kinda puzzeled on what to do now.
Thanks for reading and hopefully someone can offer me some advice!
I never use superwipe and never will just because i dont need it,you can wipe your data from recovery and some roms come with superwipe so i dont think its needed.i may be wrong

Never use superwipe, I know too many people, who have f***ed up their devices with that cr*p..
Just wipe your device normally, with CWM and everything will work fine. I have never used superwipe, and I'm glad I didn't even consider it..
Even if you are using an AROMA ROM, don't in fact NEVER use Super Wipe
Anyways, hope I didn't scare you too much.Just wanted to make you caucious

Hi, personally i've used superwipe on many many occasions without any issues, all it does is re-formats some of the partitions like the /system, /data and others. Thats why you wont be able to boot into you rom again as there is no rom on you phone. As far as i know there are two possible ways(there may be more but i've used one of these methods lots of times.). One is to use an external sd card like you intend to do. Or you can use adb(this is my preferred method). You can find instructions to download and install adb online. Once you have adb you can simply use the "adb push" command to copy the zip file from your pc to you internal sd card, then flash the zip as per the instructions.
I bought a used Amaze and put a formatted SD card (FAT32) in it and it worked fine.
I unlocked the bootloader and rooted the phone (still s-on). It's running stock ICS ROM. (Not really needing to flash a custom ROM yet) The sd card was fine for a while.
Now, the Amaze cannot see the SD card. I reformatted it on my laptop again (FAT32) and it still cannot read it. However, in recovery (4EXT) it can read it. Also, my laptop can see the sd card.
I tested 2 other sd cards and the phone could not read those either and they all work on my other phone.
I took it to a repair shop since it seemed to be a hardware issue and they replaced the sd card slot and the phone still could not read the sd card.
The technicians said they have never seen anything like it. I can still use the phone without the sd card being functional but I'd like to have that working.
Any other suggestions?
Fixed the issue. Flashed Dark Glass One 0.2 ROM and the sd card and phone memory is now seen.

Hey tube, good looks on this issue. I'm having a similar problem with a Samsung Droid charge and just wanted to ask a couple questions.
- did you flash back to stock unrooted in between any of this?
- did the ROM have any other instability when you were on stock root?
- could either stock or custom recovery see the SD card when the OS couldnt?
Trying to draw some parallels between your and my situation, and wondering if I can learn anything. Thanks man!

"No External Storage Available"
Hi all,
First time poster here. I've done as much research as possible, tried multiple ROMs, tried ICS SD Binder, looked in multiple threads, and on multiple sites, but have yet to discover a resolution to my problem.
I'm on the HTC Amaze with TELUS being my provider. I have followed the steps to unlock/root the phone, and have tried CM10, Stock, and now using Dark Glass. The rom is working great, love it. The only problem is that I'm getting a message that says No External Storage Available when trying to use the camera. I find it strange that it won't recognize it since the music player works, and even a file manager such as ASTRO can locate the files on the SD card. I'm not even able to open the gallery as it can't find the SD card.
As noted above, I've tried a few different things, but still the problems persists. Any recommendations?
Thanks!

Make sure your SD card is formatted to FAT 32. Do the long formatting not the quick one. Backup your SD card before formatting.

You better format it in your custom recovery though..
Thanks for the reply guys. Unfortunately that hasn't fixed the problem.
I've flashed the stock ROM back, and the card works as normal.
Even when the SD wasn't working with the old ROM, it would still be picked up in recovery.
Any other ideas.

I'm the 4 genie and I'm extremely frustrated with my evo. While fixing separate issues, I tried flashing something and now it's got an error that E: sdcard (the evo's internal memory) won't mount. It's corrupted i think
It just sticks on the splash screen when I boot up, but the bootloader's and recovery are still here
So far, I've tried formatting it with several programs on both a mac and pc. I tried moving and copying files from the sd card to the internal "sdcards."
I am so sick of this phone, it's caused nothing but problems (first one i got had signal issues, this one ran slow and got even worse signals when i upgraded to JB).
I'm on TWRP 2.5.5. S-ON, HBoot 1.19
Please help me resolve this problem.
I am having the exact same problem. From what I've found on the rest of the internets it seems like we need to reformat (preferably with windows). But I only have a mac so I havent tried that yet.
You guys can try something like this.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1917106
If you don't like the phone, then just trade it in or buy another. Coming on and saying how much you hate the phone isn't going to do anything.
That being g said, you probably had a bad flash and it corrupted the internal ( like you said). Most of us have done it at least once. Format the drive, and there you go. That's what fixed it for me, and usually what works. It won't fix your distaste for the phone, though, or your signal issues.
Sense ROMs tend to have better signal than others with my phone. The Sense 5 port is pretty nice, but there are plenty of others that work well. If you've tried the sense ROMs already, then go with AOSP. Some people have better luck with those.
If you still don't like it, then get a phone you do like... Hell, I'd be happy to send you $50 for the phone if you don't want it, I could use another to play with...

How do we format the drive if nothing can SEE the drive? The same thing happened to me. I can't get to the internal sd card.
Every time I had the memory corrupt it was from a viper dirty flash. All I ever did was wipe both caches a factory reset wipe security them mount internal to my PC and format. If this is still at no avail then I would wipe internal storage and let TWRP format the drive for me. I have never had both methods fail. The corruption of the internal storage is why every dev insists a full wipe and factory reset after flashing a new Rom

ugh, gotta get this working so i can get a trade in credit toward my iphone 5s
Interesting issue. I've fixed the issue on other EVO LTE's simply by mounting internal storage while connected to a PC, then formatting it. I can't think of a reason this wouldn't work for you:what:
ok, i've mounted it to the computer as mass storage several times on 4 different computers and formatted it, but to no avail
at the top, it will only mount the sd ext card..... maybe i've mounted it wrong? where do i mount it?
also, the micro sd card is the only thing it wants to read... is there a way to install the ruu (just a stock rom) and boot it from the sd card?
thanks again for the help!
Sorry for the necro, however I had this issue recently and finding very few fixes so thought I'd put something out there.
Now my fix was very simple, so I don't know if this will work for everyone. That being said, the ROM has been buggy now.
Phone: Samsung Galaxy S3 - i9300 (international version)
ROM: Pac-Rom 4.3
Recovery: TWRP
Issue:
when starting phone, it is stuck on the "Samsung Galaxy S III" logo screen.
Troubleshooting:
I was relieved to find that I could boot into recovery (TWRP).
From there my first instinct was to wipe my phone and re-flash the ROM... BUT when I tried wiping, I got an error. The log said something alogn the lines of "cannot mount internal storage" or "internal SD". I can't remember.
So I freaked out thinking my internal flash storage was fried, BUT why is TWRP working then?
I connected a USB cable to my computer to see what happens. Windows 8 picked up the external SD card, but not the internal phone storage.
Fix:
I would usually NEVER flash a ROM without wiping first, but thought I didn't have much else to lose. I tried flashing PAC-ROM 4.3 without the wipe and it said "successful". WTF? I didn't expect that.
I rebooted and everything worked fine. The ROM wasn't stock either, it had all my settings and icons on my home screen in tact.
Since then, the ROM has been buggy. Youtube app disappeared and wouldn't search properly in play store and the apps drawer had all these com. files f or the google apps (this was still there when I re-flashed GApps).
So I was able to save my phone, but had a bunch of issues. I have since flashed to PAC-ROM 4.4 (Kit Kat). I very much miss the PIE controls and Halo, but it is extremely stable.
Here's what I did when I had the same issue. Take out the ext SD card. Then, plug your phone into your PC. Format your phone with windows, it should appear as a flash drive or something like that. After that, I replaced the ext SD, mounted that with TWRP, and formatted that, too.
