[Q] MIUI rom

Hey,
will there be a MIUI rom for the HTC evo 3d gsm? I saw it on youtube, looks really cool.
have you seen a MIUI for Evo 3D ?, there are MIUI for a lot of other android phones but I don't think the MIUI team has starting working on EVO 3D. Check the links.

I know but I was wondering when it comes out and if it comes out.

I found something but I don't think that is going to work on the gsm version
http://forums.miuiandroid.com/showthread.php?9233-ROM-1.8.5-HTC-Evo-3D-Official-Thread-Testing-Info
that looks a bit promising and may be a dev can have a look at it and make it run on the gsm version, we have to make a request to the devs.

there is not much of a difference in the cdma and gsm version almost all the hardware is the same so I presume the same sort of drivers will be used for both versions, correct me if I am wrong.....

Wrong.
A Queston goes in q&a. If this is a ROM, kernel, or something you developed it goes in the development section.
MIUI is being worked on. It relies on cm, so when cm drops then miui will be next. The gsm version us so close to bring the same as the cdma version that when it is released for cdma it won't be long before one of the great developers here will port it to the gsm version.

CDMA Development

Hey guys,
I'm astonished that so many and different ROMs are available for the CDMA EVO 3D!
But I wonder why there is so less development in the GSM section. I have an EVO GSM and there is nearly no Rom to chose between. That's truly distressing. And I know you guys don't have the European GSM version and those phones are completely different. BUT I think they have the same base and there should be a GSM version with T-Mobile carrier in U.S. too(? Just guessing).
Due to the fact that only the communication method between GSM and CDMA is different, but not the Frontend itself, there should be a universal solution to this incompatibility so that you just have to change minor things (e.g. drivers, kernel..) in CDMA to get it working on GSM.
However the thing I wanted to tell you is that we need more ROMs in GSM!
Thank you guys. Have a wonderful day.

I'd be lying if I said ,that I didn't agree with ya man. And I'm hoping that no Trolls end up in here bashing u either. Although this should have been in the General Section, but would anyone even see it there either? I think not. U got my vote, even tho I have a CDMA version. Goof Luck Brotha!

If i had some testers, I wouldn't mind trying to make some roms for you guys.
First. Wrong forum and this topic has been posted a few times already in the correct forum.
Next, Europe version would not work on T-Mobile because its a different feq.
And lastly, no developers has the GSM version. They have posted this many times already, if you want more roms, pool your funds and donate a GSM evo 3d to them.
And because its early in the day here. I will be nice and leave it at that.

If this is the only problem I will fix that as fast as possible. I just need an adress of a dev who is going to do that and I will get him his mobile. With the support of the whole european EVO community.

Can anyone explain why CDMA??

Can anyone explain why the CDMA version of our phones has more ROMS to choose from??
Is it much a matter of it being more popular?
The Warm Rom for the CDMA, is one of the nicest looking Roms ive seen, how much work is it to port it over to GSM?
If I am not mistaken, the CDMA version was released earlier than the GSM version, therefore development started earlier. Also, until recently (sometime in september) HTC finally released the code for their Kernel for the GSM version so developers can play around with. In regards to porting CDMA to GSM, im sure there is lots of technical reasons. As an example, we are eagerly waiting for the guys at MIUI (Scott) to finish making a stable/working version for us. Im sure once that one is finished, we will have an AOSP Kernel which will allow other developers to port more ROMs over here (hopefully)
gsm and cdma veraion has any diffence, so u think it'll take a long time for dev , so now MIUI rom has in project, just wait
I might be incorrect in saying this, but aren't the phones sold by Sprint in the USA running on CDMA? This might account for the high number of CDMA phones out there, and therefore more ROM development for them?
All the American 3Ds are on Sprint and are CDMA. Sprint sells a lot of phone. the rest of the world sells the GSM version, and will someday pass the Americans in units sold and ROM numbers will ****.

Questions go in q and a. No other reasons.
But as for your question. Simply because a lot of devs had the EVO 4G which is a cdma phone. Hence once the EVO 3s came out a lot of them got it.
Hence why there are a lot more devs on the cdma version and hence why us gsm users don't get as many Roms

Infected ROM

Hello everyone.
I was browsing the CDMA section for evo3d and noticed that this ROM is very popular so the question came out.
I was wondering if it is possible to port Infected ROM eternity to Evo 3D GSM.
I saw some posts about porting it on your own but if it is that simple, why did no one make a thread? I am new to the forums.
If it is possible to flash or if anyone even flashed Infected ROM eternity on their Evo 3D please let me know.

Oh wow.. I was not expecting that.
Is it me or people with gsm use this ROM a lot less than those with cdma?
Eventhough my stay here was not long, I did not come across with anyone using this ROM.
Edit: sorry for posting in the wrong section , thanks for moving it. Wanted to thank you, but limited to 8 thanks per day
So the report button actually works, nice!
It was ridicilously popular when it just came out gor GSM, but after a while the updates stopped, Virus got off the grid, and people pretty much forgot about it

Right. But that's for the international One X with a tegra processor. This one is for the US variants with a snapdragon processor. Sure, this probably could have fit in that thread but it's not a "repost".
Anyway, to stay on topic: As much as I want to be excited, this is for the One line and I know our devices are pretty similar but until I hear it from HTC I wont be holding my breath. I'm sure we will also get the update, it's just comforting to hear it straight up from them.
HTC's quote doesn't say anything about the AT&T and T-Mo variants specifically...Just that the One S, One X and One XL...all of which I believe also exist out side the US.
Now that's not saying that I don't believe we will eventually get some JB love.
But also, our phones are different from the One series and it still doesn't mention us.

You're not much of a reader, are you?
The article from Engadget was referring to Telestra. An Australian network that just so happens to have the dual-core S4 processor version of the One X, dubbed the "One XL." It also mentions this:
If you happen to own a non-LTE, Tegra 3-based One X, then the absence of that handset on the list doesn't mean much -- that model simply isn't part of the carrier's line-up.

GG, though.
Yeah the xl referres to the att one x. I saw that article also. It is from yesterday I believe. Not 100 sure.
Anyways if the one xl gets it we basically get it

Correct, on the other article. This release came just now (looking at Engadgets post time). Reason would dictate that this IS for the US variants. It would seem strange for HTC to announce the same thing twice. Not to mention that Engadget also made two articles about it.
Regardless your attitude is unwarranted. There is no need to be a jerk. You don't know if I read or not. I did. The above is what makes logical sense. "GG" What is that even about? There is no competition. I shared my opinion, if you can't be nice about it, don't reply.

There's nothing I need to be nice about. It's a repost. That's the problem with these threads. For some reason, everyone seems to think that there's only 1 page of threads started, and completely ignore the autosearch when creating a new thread. Someone before me posted saying it was a repost, then someone called him an "a hole," and said it wasn't a repost. Then I post, with a link for proof and explain, and all of a sudden it's, "Well, that's the Tegra 3 version" (Which it wasn't). What does it matter what version of the phone it is?
Are we going to have a new thread started when they announce that the One X for AT&T gets confirmation? Then the one that's for Vodafone? How about creating a new one as well for when O2 gets confirmation? Then one for Rogers...
Do you see where I'm going with this?
No need to get at each other's throats guys. In all fairness explicits thread was first but this threads info is technically new and (official). The original article posted yesterday was based on Telstra's support website. All articles that were written based off of that info assumed since the One XL (equivalent of ATT One X) was getting it as well as the One S to expect the Tegra 3 One X (International One X) to get it as well as other variants. This article is HTC officially confirming that the (International) One X, One XL, and One S are getting it.

Trust me I get that, but we all know what happens here on XDA. When new articles pop up people look at the first page and if they don't see anything about it make a new thread. I'm not excusing it because yes the info can be consolidated. However the OP will just state they know that there is a thread with similar information but this is new or official or what not and wanted to make a thread about it so the info doesn't get lost. Some will agree, some will not. If you don't you can just report the thread and mods will deem whether it should be closed or merged.

You're not a moderator. If you want to be one so badly, apply to be one. This is a community, therefore you have an obligation to act like it, as does everyone else here. Play nice or don't play at all. It's an elementary concept. If things bother you so much, use the report button so moderators can do their jobs instead of everybody trying to police the fora themselves.

Explicit, your thread is buried, and the title doesn't imply that any US versions are getting JB. The image within the thread is in regards to Telstra, which is just one carrier. This statement is from HTC themselves, and it presented right away as such. Therefore, even though your thread came first, this one has information more pertinent to us.
So get over it.

Actually, they're both talking about the same phones really, considering the Telestra model is the same as the AT&T model (Processor and all).
