i had rooted my galaxy note 2 (GT N7100). Flashed paranoid android custom rom.
now i have restored my stock rom backup (which i had made before flashing)
but now samsung stock apps like "readers hub", "Game hub" etc. are not working. apps say "Rooting detected" and clos.
and in settings->device status it says "modified".
so according to me the phone is not completely restored to stock rom.
can u help me out? cuz i want complete stock rom.(the original rom i got when i bought the phone.)
Thanks in advance....!!!
Maybe you had first rooted your stock ROM before making a backup. Make sure to flash a new stock image, not a backup you made previously. Look in the Galaxy Note 2 forum for more details.

Thnx a lott
I flashed stock firmware through ogdin
Now samsung stock apps (readers hub, learning hub) are workin correctly
But the status is still "modified"
How can I fix it?
Do I need to reset binary counter? If yes, how to?

Search for 'Triangle Away' by Chainfire. I'm not too acquainted with Samsung devices as I've never owned one, so I can't help you with this. But you'll find a lot of guides and everything you need.

One last question, what is the purpose of creating a backup from the recovery menu?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
I personally use it to back up custom roms i like so when i try new ones that get released and i have problems with them i can always go back to the last rom i used which was stable
Ok, can't it be used to restore the stock rom back from cyanogen?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Its to backup a rom as simple as that .
original rom no cannot back that up as it does not have cwm recovery .
You can restore a good working rom in a very short time instead of a clean install .
Its rom settings and apps at the point of backup .

Ok I deleted my og nandroid then flashed a mod that had me stuck on SAMSUNG screen so I then went to restore my ogre android but I deleted it when I partitioned my sdcard, so I had to flash a custom Rom to get it to boot. My question is how if at all possible can I get back to strock out of the box form. I tried to use the method found here but it just flashes over custom rom....

You can search the threads for guides. I don't use HTC so I'm not familiar with it. Starting you can find a ROM that is suitable for your firmware. Gt i9100G. Be sure not to get GT-i9100 ROM because its two worlds apart. Once you done that, go to cwm and fully wipe everything. Then install from SD card. If the roms has aroma installer you are good to go. To get detailed guides please search the forums.

Hi avipriya!
I'll explain this to you. The thing is a build.prop has a property which describes in which Region the phone is, meaning in which country the phone is. For eg. GB=Great Britain & IN=India. Now when you were flashing the Stock ROM, system files were being added. BUT build.prop was not added as it contained important info of your phone. Technically you shouldn't really worry if you think of adding the Stock build.prop and removing this build.prop as apps anyway find out where you are. So you should search for stock build.prop for your phone on google. And then replace it with your ROM's build.prop! :good: Helpful? In that case you could press the thanks Button.

So if you want your phone to be completely how it was before then use "odin" to install stock untouched OS. You should simply search for it on Google. I previously owned a Galaxy Y so I know that odin works for most Samsung devices. You'll have to download the latest odin tool compatible with your device and stock system files.

And you could press the thanks button if I helped.
Useless
Even though we flashed stock rom with odin, build.prop not change..
Hi I've flashed my s2 with sentinel rom (basically cyanogenmod) so it's like a nexus 4 and I would quite like to flash a stock rom but not like the s2 rom like is there a way to flash an s3/s4 stock rom to my phone?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
No. Pls don't flash a rom that's not made for your phone as you will probably brick it. Look in Android development for what you want
I double dare you to try it.
Is there a way that I can go back to my original stock rom test it out and if I don't like it go back to my flashed rom?

Hi,
Make a nandroid backup from you current rom und flash an other rom. If its not fit you can restore your backup
Maybe you have to flash the kernel that you used to make the backup before you restoring.
Basically I want jelly bean but the stock version. Currently I'm using a rom that is jelly beans but is like a nexus 4 but I want the Samsung features. Thanks
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Hi,
i know, you wrote on OP sentinal rom. Just make a backup from your current rom in the recovery. And then you go to the download modus and flash a stock rom via odin. If you dont like it, flash a recovery and restore your backup.
Easy
Ok! Where can I get the stock rom from and can it be jelly bean? I know that when you buy the new s2s they have 4.1.2 installed! And how to you flash a recovery? Everything else I know.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Okay... do you flash the sentinel rom oder someone else? If you did it than you have to know what the recovery is. It the menue that comes up when you hold VolUp+Home+Power and boot. There ist an option "Backup and restore".
Here http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ you can get the official stock roms, just search for I9100. To download you have to register, its free
Andi
Get your stock rom from samfirmware. Just scroll down and download the required Android version. You can get temporary recovery from recovery tools in play store or if you want permanent recovery you gotta flash a custom kernel.
