I'm making this thread to discuss GTA: Vice City on our lovely device
The first problem I have is that it is SO laggy on my rooted 4.0.4 RaZr
Is there a workaround for this?

Try to overclock the CPU

No problems for me here works just fine
Try using a task killer to wipe out old tasks before running it.
As for me, the game runs fine and I'm on fully-stock rooted ROM (not debloated, no frozen apps, nothing uninstalled).
What display settings do you guys have?
In the Game's options, there are ways to set the graphics details - you can set it lower if you wish.
The only time I've had lag is when I play it out of my lapdock with 1366x768 res - the standard phone res works fine with no lag otherwise.
+1 on the task manager and kill some tasks in memory.

You guys do know you can just Google the name of the file and put '.apk' at the end... and it should easily come up usually on 4shared or mediafile.....

They Need To Be Fed. Only game I've kept since I got my Legend, and I still play it.

Id doesn't work on Legend, does it?
Playing :
* Robotek
* Warspear Online
* Zenonia 3
* Angry Birds Space ( a little laggy, just wait few seconds before starting levels. The game will be smoother )

All these run excellently on Legend.

Hi! I tried to download the new game Angry Birds Space on my gf phone and is not loading at all on a official 2.3.6 The phone is a little tweaked, not very much.. Can anyone confirm is working (or not)? With another rom or official.. Thanks!!!

Wow.. and i thougth it was a hardware problem.. Looks like i need to flash a custom rom to be able to play these games (i cant play Wheres my Water too)

You can also run on stock
just use cf-root
convert system, data into ext4
Why use a custom rom to play a game
@OP,Force Stop the app,delete cache and then data.Now launch it,if it still doesnt work,then uninstall AngryBirdsSpace and install it again from PlayStore.This SHOULD fix it.
I ran it on gingerreal rom and now on the myth ics, but it takes a lot of time to load. after that runs fine

Is not just about THIS game.. is because is so frustrating to not be able to install almost any Good game of the market! Ill try intsalling CF-Root Kernel today!

that won't help as "GOOD" games which you may be referring are targeted for high end phones
It's working for me. I'm using the stock 2.3.6 UBKPL.

Im running the same ROM (Deodexed + PDroid) and i cannot play it.
what settings do you use, mine is S2E, 245-846 Mhz, ondemand.
I'm running it on stock 2.3.6 DDKQ8
Try clearing RAM before running the game it always helps me

Just deodexed CM7.2 RC1 vo-1 without pdroid... Dtapp2sd,122-806mhz,conservative that all.

Lag? Not for me.. even real racing 2 doesn't lag one bit and it's quite hardware intensive. I have a feeling asphalt will work.

Nothing. Copy to data folder n install apk. You need to be connected to the internet else it wont work

I did the same thing.. it crashes after I click new game
Tried on CM9 and CM7, with and without chainfire plugins but it didn't help

Yeah.. Strange though.
I gave the same apk and sd data to a friend of mine running gb on an even lower end phone and it worked with low textures
I really hope I have better luck with asphalt :/
Has anyone tried it on fuzz's rom for a Green lens defy?

If you mean the cm7 I'm on it, if you mean cm7 it's terrible for games so I don't have high hopes

Overall I think CM9 handles games better but for some reason I find cut scenes run better on cm7. For instance the opening video of spiderman ran smoothly on cm7 but lagged a bit in CM9

Long time know bug that video in cm9 can be choppy, also games may run better but less actually work, I find Nova 2, dh2 and some others refuse to work on it

Yeah.. Tried nova 2, DH2 (thanks to you), NFS HP, the previous spiderman and a few others. They work fine on Cm7 but not on CM9

Alot of you guys may be playing this game. But some of you guys may not know that it can be more beautiful.
So I recommed 1600Mhz clock speed cuz this is a heavy mod and sometimes game lags but i prefer teh beauty than the smoothness.
So on your sdcard /Android/obb/com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftA7HM/main***********....obb
you have to open this file as an archive. There in /data/DeviceConfig you have to replice deviceconfig.xml with teh one from the zip you will download. So here is a link. I have made this mod esspecialy for ray. But if someone has google not for specific device and found that. Well he can try Link:https://dl.dropbox.com/u/68292053/DeviceConfigRay.zip

Its a paid app, no warez or links to warez on xda.

I dont think its possible. There is no such settings. There are global settings for all details and when enabled the game runs with 3fps
I tried to use WinRAR for this, but it takes like forever to do anything :S
What am I doing wrong?

I am not a massive fan of gaming on my android phone but since Real Racing 3 was released I can't get enough of it!
My problem is that when running on my Xperia U it is extremely laggy sometimes and also FC's alot.
Can anyone recommend a gaming optimized rom maybe that can actually handle the games needs or is there any tweaks I can do to get it running better?
I am running the latest cyanogenmod 9, rooted with unlocked boot loader.
I just don't understand how an iPhone 3GS with a 600mhz CPU can run this better than a dual core 1ghz CPU?
Any help is much appreciated!

HEY buddy
- Try to edit file at folder SDCARD/Android/Data/com.ea.games.r3_row/.depot/eds
- in folder have a file:
1. AndroidHigh.plist
2. AndroidMid.plist
3. AndroidLow.plist
4. AndroidXtraHigh.plist
- just copy another one you wanna use, example you use AndroidLow.plist and paste
- rename to AndroidMid.plist and AndroidHigh.plist (in Xperia U use between 2 both that file but i dont know maybe cant)
- and just try playing you felt fullspeed, no lags

i think i may have a solution to your problem. if you install chainfire 3d (requires root(link at bottom of post)) you can decrease texture quality and/or texture size which will reduce quality nof all apps until disabled but does help lag and memory usage which is probably why you are getting fc because you have run out of memory or it is starting to overheat.
